Ronco 6000 Platinum Digital Countertop Rotisserie Oven, 12-lb Capacity

I’m thrilled to see Ronco rotisserie ovens back again. I owned one of the originals that I bought years ago after seeing the classic “set it and forget it” infomercial, and that machine lasted me about 20 years before it finally quit. That alone says a lot about how useful and reliable these ovens can be. The Ronco 6000 Platinum Series Rotisserie Oven brings back everything I loved about the original. It’s simple to use, cooks evenly, and makes food come out tender, juicy, and full of flavor without needing a lot of extra work. Chicken comes out beautifully, but it’s also great for roasts, pork, and other meals where you want that slow, even rotisserie-style cooking at home. What I really appreciate is that it doesn’t feel like a gimmick. It’s one of those appliances that actually earns its space in the kitchen because it does something different from a regular oven or air fryer. There’s just something about true rotisserie cooking that gives meat better texture and flavor. After having my original Ronco Rotisserie Oven for two decades, I was genuinely excited to get another one. I’m very happy with this new Platinum Series model and glad to see Ronco carrying on something that worked so well for so many years. Easy 5 stars from me.

This rotisserie is well made looks great and easy to use. I'm an old guy fending for my grandson and me. 2 yrs cooking experience. No one likes my cooking. I placed a 5 lb chicken smothered with Kosmos dry rub for 1.5 hours and look out Costco! That chicken turned out flavorful and juicy. The only thing I did wrong, there were patches of burned skin. Talked to Amazon Rufus, he suggested Reynolds wrap for an hour and finishing without. Sounds like a solution I'll try. There's no thermostat so using your thermometer at random around 1 hour check the temp for 165°. At 1.5 hrs the chicken reached 165°. Even with the slight scorching that chicken was very good! I have a 4 lb pork butt to cook tonight. Will update when done. This rotisserie saved my reputation. Cleaning is a small chore. Soaking the parts overnight makes cleanup pretty easy. I had a counter top oven with a rotisserie. It would not handle the weight of a 5lb chicken. This unit is advertised to handle 12 lbs. If trussed and properly placed on the spit, it seems stout enough. Going to enjoy cooking on this unit. Will update. Highly recommend. Update #1 The 4 lb pork butt turned out great! No scorching. I decided after 30 minutes, to place the roast on no heat rotating. Let rest for 10 minutes. Cranked it back up for another 30 minutes then let it rest 15 minutes no heat. Temp at 150° - 160° depending on where you poke. Roast is done. Tasty and juicy. Soaked all parts overnight in Dawn Detergent cleanup the next morning was a piece of cake. I rate this the best meat cooking appliance in the house. So easy to turn out tasty pork/chicken. Have to try other recipes. Letting the meat rotate and rest is as good as having a thermostat, if not better. You have more control keeping constant temperature checking with a meat thermometer. Highly recommend. Update #2 Here's the old man's chicken at rest! Fat little rascal!😊 One suggestion: I purchased a wood cover for my Jenn Air stove and I set the Rotisserie on it. This positions the Rotisserie under my exhaust fan which is over the stove and removes any smoke generated. Check out the cover on Amazon. Worth the purchase and dresses up the old stove.

My first rotisserie chicken ever and it came out great. Super easy too! The chicken was 4lbs, 13 ounces (I used a food scale), then set it to 72 min (per manual instructions - 15 min p/lb for chicken) and the final temp before resting was 166 (should be 165 for chicken). As you can see still very juicy. The unit doesn't have a temp gauge btw, but it does have a light, timer, option for roasting, spinning without heat, and sear. There’s also a heat shield which slides easily behind the heating coils and it did come with ties, gloves and everything mentioned online. The manual doesn’t have many recipes (maybe six - nothing worth being excited about) and I didn't see anything for fries (one could hope). The cleanup is very easy and yes you can use tinfoil (per the manual). There’s also an A and B setting which allows the food to be placed further or closer to the coils. I placed my chicken at A per the manual. The unit did smoke slightly at first which was normal according to the manual. The manual also suggests, when in use not to have it near a wall or under a cabinet. The unit is lightweight and well worth in my opinion, if you use it. It’s also very very quiet (as in almost no noise). Hope this helps. Happy cooking.

I grew up listening to advertisements for Ronco products! Everything for cheap and an easier way to do things was always the catch phrase! I think this is my first Ronco buy-(I’m 61 so I took my time😁) WHAT A GREAT CHOICE I MADE! This makes cooking a chicken a snap! Most delicious, juicy meat we have ever had in a bird!! Brine your chicken in salt and herbs for a day or two for exceptional results ! I’ve also made ribs-(equally delicious) and bought a second one for our son’s birthday! He is hooked too! If I have anything negative to say; I would caution that if you have young children, you would need to keep them away from it during the roasting. The sides and front glass get extremely hot. Apart from that; It only takes 75 minutes to cook a 4 pound bird. And clean up is a snap! There is also a silicon loop to secure the glass door on one side so that no one can knock it open. Use with safety and you won’t regret buying this!!

I love this oven. Sure it's somewhat clunky to set up but so what? It cooks evenly and makes the best rotisseried chicken. Clean up is always a hassle with any device like this but again, so what? The accessories are very useful and completes the experience.

This Ronco 6000 platinum rotisserie oven is everything. I love the juicy flavor and how easy it was to set up. The heat output is great and the cooking time of 60-75 minutes is ideal. They included string to tie the legs and wings which was nice and needed. No more store bought chicken for me. Great price and value for the money.

Note that this review is for the new digital 6000 series, which I got at a limited time price of $199.99. It's since gone up to $249.99. I'm subtracting a star for what I consider an egregious offense: you can't read the rather important unpacking instructions until the unit is fully unpacked! These could easily have been printed on the box, particularly on an inside flap, but no, they are on page six of the instruction manual that is inside a box stuffed into the rotisserie. One of the key steps is to first remove the wrapped-up tray from inside the unit; otherwise nothing will come out without force or shredding packing materials, possibly resulting in damage. Fortunately I eventually figured this out before tearing things to bits, but still. Somebody needs to get slapped for this. Otherwise, everything about this rotisserie is fine. It's an update to a proven design. A 5.5-pound whole chicken cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit in exactly the suggested time of 15 minutes per pound. The skin was nicely crisped without getting too dark, and the meat was tender and juicy. There was no problem with smoke.
