Excellent Kidde smoke & CO2 detector. Easy to install and I also purchased the Kidde Quick Connect Adapter made for these detectors as the plug had changed from my old Kidde detectors. I could have done the plug wiring again as I did for the previous detectors, but the adapter was simple, easy and not very expensive. I do wish detector plugs were standardized across the industry, much like USB hook ups have for the electronics/smart phone industry. The detectors I purchased are hard wired via plug and also have 2AA batteries as backup. There are models with a "10-year" Lithium battery permanently installed as backup, but I've never gotten 10 years out of older models so decided to just change the batteries every 6 months when I test them.

They fit perfectly over the old ones. Slid right into place. Have no complaints.

Great for connectivity awesome value for the money and what a great brand

Ordered these to replace a discontinued model that was 10 years old. Since we haven’t needed it - thank goodness - I can’t speak to the functionality of it in a fire, but can say the installation once we got the proper adapter was easy. In reading info it read as if it would be the proper plug and replacement for the discontinued model, but it was not. After buying these very expensive detectors, we then had to spend more on an adapter. The plug looked the same, but actually plugs the opposite direction so make sure you are prepared for that. Beware if you are putting it in a bedroom, it has a very bright green light! We put it up and it was like a spotlight on me in bed! I ended up using a sleep mask until my husband put a piece of black tape over it. I know the light helps determine the status but it was just way too bright.

Works as described. Easy to install.

Great unit. I'm replacing 13 to 15 year old Kiddle units with these updated units. Only problem I'm having is they're to sensitive outside of a bathroom door. When the steam from the shower hits them, sometimes they go off.

I have installed these in 2 homes and they are working great so far. No false alarms and if one of the networked smoke alarms trigger, I get notified in my Ring app so I can tell if one of the other smoke alarms starts to give false alarms or if a alarm goes off while I am not there.

The ceiling bracket is super simple to install, and the detector easily attaches to the bracket. It comes with the wiring harness that plugs into the detector, and the other end is three wires. Those three wires can be attached to the wires coming out of your ceiling with wire nuts, which do not come with the detector (so be prepared if there aren't already wire nuts being used with your existing, already installed detector). It comes with batteries preinstalled -you just have to pull the thin plastic tab that keeps the batteries from contacting the detector untill you're ready to install it. That insures you get fresh batteries. Looks wise, it isn't overly intrusive and looks like every other detector on the market. The noise it made when I tested it was super loud, as you would expect. It functioned like it should and caused all of the other smoke detectors in the house to also blast their alarm. I haven't bought one of these in while, and I was kind of surprised how expensive it was. But upon shopping around, I figured out quickly the other brands have also gone way up in price.
