Only have gotten to use it a few times now but it has been operating smoothly, cast like a dream, easy controls and has a tactile click to know you have made an adjustment, it looks sweet and slick, and it is definitely great for the price point. Quality workmanship and I have had no issues casting.

This combo is my first experience using a bait casting reel. The combo does NOT come with line but I decided to put on some blue camo braided line from KastKing. After tuning and some practice (working through the backlashes 💀) the cast is very smooth! The weight of the rod with reel attached is perfect— while I still have yet to fish this combo longer than an hour, I have had no issues with fatigue. I have only caught one fish on the rod but felt the strike clearly. Since switching from an old Shakespeare rod I feel like I have more control over my lure presentation as well as fish strikes. I absolutely cannot make comparisons between this rod + reel combo and top tier fish equipment (as I don’t own nor have I used any), but I can say — for the cost — this combo gets the job done.

Used this a couple of times, so the review might change a month from now, but I'm happy with this. I was expecting a backlash or two while it was getting this all dialed in and that is what I got. No big deal, as I said, expected. Everything works as expected. I got the 7'3" left hand reel. Once its been dialed in, it casts nice and far, reels pretty smooth and feels good in your hands. The spool tension knob works great. Not completely sure how much the magnetic breaks help, but that's a nice feature. The look and feel of this don't seem like a budget rod/reel combo. I'm sure I'll be using this for a long time. The only issue i have with this, and I have the same issue with other budget rod/reel combos, is that the shaft flexes too much under the reel. It in no way affects the casting, catching or reeling, but it does feel a bit odd when you are reeling in a fish. There is a little flex way back in the handle that I find a bit unsettling. Like I said, it didn't stop me from catching fish, it didn't' impede with reeling in the fish, it just feels a bit weird.

A gift for my 13 year old grandson. He loves it. He watched a couple videos to avoid birdnesting, but it still happened a couple times. Didn't bother him, he asked his Dad for some help and after a little practice, he's an expert. Teaching his buddies how to ! I had to think about buying because they can be tricky to learn, not the same as spinning real. He loves it and uses it frequently without problems. Great package from Kastking. I was very impressed by the quality. He was blown away. Defintely recommend.

Was a great rod while it lasted, got to use it once before it flew out of my boat while on the road and got ran over. Will end up getting a new one eventually but casted great, reeled in smooth and wasn’t hard to use one bit. Just make sure you tune the road to what lure you’re throwing and you’ll be fine

This rod set comes with 2 rod tips. Both of these rod tip broke at the ends within a couple of weeks of use. The first broke after just a few cast and no fish caught. The second broke after catching some small 1 to 2 lb black bass. They both broke between the last eye and the second to last eye. The rod was not dropped or stepped upon. Poor quality. I have reached out to the manufacturer through their customer support email and now a week later I have not heard anything from them. Their website shows replacement parts are unavailable. Edit. Their AI assistant has reached out and I have responded. Now to wait and see what happens. Edit: The company was unable to warrant the rod but did reimburse 1/2 of the cost of the combo set.

Not a fisherman,, but this is awesome, I bought it because my friend broke my rod,, the extra end it came with fit the broken rod,, so now I have the old one working, plus a much nicer fishing rod I shall not share
