Hurts so good
I have chronic neck pain because of my TMJ. I have been having terrible headaches that make normal life impossible. I've tried so many things- from hardcore pills including muscle relaxers, pain killers, anti-depressants and a cocktail of anti-imflamitores, trigger point massage, dental splints and physical therapy to the tune of $200 per session. The pills didn't do much. The massage helped a lot, the therapist helped a bit. But I couldn't afford to be on their table twice a week. I came across this thing as a happy accident just by scrolling around for pain relief tools. Out of the box, it didn't have an odor, it didn't have much else either as far as instructions. The first time I tired this thing, I found it uncomfortable. I used a thick towel over it to make it slightly more comfortable, and really just tried to relax. Funny thing about chronic pain, is that different pain or mild uncomfortableness is a welcome change. I got this the night before a 7 day camping trip, and I figured I was doomed to spend the entire trip in the tent with an ice pack over my face. I packed the DaVinci Tool and figured I'd give it shot. I also packed my arsenal of pills. I spent probably a few minutes each night, increasing more each night over the camping trip. It hit just the right area in my upper neck and after the initial uncomfortableness, it actually started feeling good. Happy to admit I am a week without any of my pills, and I have no Physical Therapy or deep tissue massages in the calendar. I still get some tension, and it just means it's time to take a break and use my new tool. While this works for me, everyone's level of uncomfortableness varies. If you think you might be sensitive, try making a peanut out of two tennis balls and some duct tape. Use that for a bit, and eventually, upgrade to this device. In all- this thing has an adjustment period that can be uncomfortable to mildly painful but once your body learns how to use this tool, it does it's job well.

Physical Therapist Recommended
Being a physical therapist, I recommend this device to patients all the time. It is has proved to be an extremely effective way for my patients with suboccipital tension headaches to massage the suboccipitcal muscles and reduce headache frequency and severity. There are devices that I think might work a bit better and are a little more straight forward but cost over 2x more than this one. The other nice thing about this device is the 3 different sides that provide very different types of pressure and allow you to customize/adjust your the pressure to your liking. Overall great device that lives on my desk at work and at home.

Helped relieve pressure in my neck and headaches subsided.
My chiropractor recommended this device to me before my injury due to the fact that I have a lot of tension in my neck at the base of my skull. I kept putting it off I had a lot of pressure in my neck, eyes, head,my skin was hyper sensitive and even my hair follicles hurt! It has helped a lot even the first day! I used it for 30 second,3x the first day and today when I woke up I noticed the tension/pressure is minimal compared to what it was and I only had 1 headache instead of an ongoing headache. Make sure you ask for medical advice before purchasing one as every one is different :) One thing I would change is that the base needs to be wider to provide better stability. It's easy to tip forward.

Reach back trigger points by yourself, works for me! I bought this months and months ago...
I have kept this on my desk, and I use it when I sleep in an odd position and get a knot in my shoulder/back that keeps me from comfortably taking a deep breath without feeling a pinching discomfort. I put it between me and the back of my chair, and because of all of the angles and the shape and stiffness of it, this is perfect for this purpose! Do you ever have those days when you just wake up with a tight spot you can't reach? I do. Then I have to sit at a desk for work. I have found this to be incredibly helpful, technically "off label" to help out with these spots. I wish they showed a picture of it used in this way, because I used to try to use a tennis ball but this is 10000% more effective because of the angles and shape. It allows for me to keep it kind of in one spot and kind of lean into it, without it moving too much. Honestly, it has saved me quite a few "emergency" massage appointments for range of motion concerns. Hopefully this review reaches someone it can be helpful for, because this little device has really changed my day for the better many times since I have owned it. Disclaimer - I have never used it on my neck, ever? But it is perfect for use as I described it, and I wish they would market it more for this additional use! It is difficult to reach back pressure points without a second person or while sitting at a desk... it is honestly perfect for this!

Confusing and requires lots of practice.
I had high hopes for this given my migraines usually cause tightness in my neck. But it was difficult to get the right spot and where to use this. I had to place down a yoga mat to prevent from it being too hard or soft (canโt be used in bed really). It works okay but Iโd think twice about purchasing after how long itโs taken me to get even results.

Muscle Knot Killer
Easiest $22 Iโve ever spent. This is by far the most effective solution for muscle knots Iโve found other than professional help, chiropractor, massage. Iโve had limited success applying pressure with tennis balls, corners, canes, stretches. A friend of mine introduced me to the DaVinci Tool. Within 10 seconds of laying my back/shoulders on it I knew it was going to work for me. I felt some sensations Iโve lost return to my right hand. Instant order. Iโve been dealing with muscle knots that have been affecting my ability to play instruments for about two years after some stress injury/strain. This tool means a lot when it comes to continuing what I love to do as well as general wellness. My shoulder hasnโt felt so good in a couple of years. The tool is good quality and light weight. Definitely well designed, every side serves multiple purposes. Find some good stretches that work for you and give this tool a try. I will be recommending DaVinci Tool to a lot of people. Thank you for providing me some much needed relief at long last!

Too hard, too tall, not wide enough
I've tried to enjoy this but never have. It's not wide enough to provide sufficient coverage in the occipital region. The only edge that isn't uncomfortable is the rounded edge. The other two edges really dig in, to an uncomfortable degree and provide too much pin-pointed pressure. It is so high compared to its base that it is easy to wobble and suddenly change where it is working in the neck. I don't consider this functional for me and I am finally finished using it (permanently). I needed something that provides comfortable stability in my head and neck so I can relax and this isn't it. The material in the red one is still very firm.

Amazing tool, similar to PT
After over a year of physical therapy for neck issues, my PT recommended this tool and it's pretty amazing. I neck muscle issues that are pretty focused around the base of my skull and cause extreme tightness on the right side of my neck. I get HUGE knots that cause a lot of pain, numbness, and headaches. The most effective therapy I've found so far has been cranial sacral therapy and pressure point therapy in the PT office. This tool mimics theses therapies at home and it's been amazing. I have the red one and after having this type of therapy in person, I don't find the tool too hard or uncomfortable at all. I'm used to having a therapist use their fingers to really press into that spot under the base of my skull, and this isn't any more pressure than that....in fact, I'd say it's less. I plan on getting the more firm version of this tool as well. I use this at least twice a day and it really helps keep pain and muscle tightness in my neck manageable. I've used every side, my favorite is the grooved side that says its similar to manual treatments...it is! If you've done a lot of PT like me and are used to pressure point therapy, this will feel really good and you dont have to deal with going to a PT office all the time.

Love This Occipital Release Tool
This Occipital Release Tool is simply amazing! I love it! I received it today and couldn't wait to use it. I can feel the releases in just a few minutes of use. It meets and beats my expectations! I love that it has three different sides that releases various pressure points. I was a hairdresser for 51 years so lots of neck/nerve tightness. Also helps with sinus issues and headaches. I wish that I had owned this tool a long time ago.

Die Idee ist sehr gut.
Die Idee ist sehr gut und prinzipiell mag ich das Massage Tool. Aber mir ist es dann doch etwas zu gross um sich damit den Ruecken oder die Schulter zu massieren.

Very useful
I've been using this for months now and it is great for getting at those difficult to reach knots (unless you can afford a Physio). After a few minutes of use, the tension is relieved. Obviously, it won't reach all parts because of the shape but it's great. Just lie on the floor or bed and adjust your positioning and weight to suit. I will use this for a long time and was using it last night on my neck.
