Surprisingly Simple & Surprisingly Effective
I replaced the cheap, builder quality sink drains, where the center of the drain just came broke on two of our bathroom sinks, each with one of these. The two sections of these each catch hair. The small section in the center comes right out and you can pull the hair right off of it The larger piece, which the small centerpiece goes into, and which can also be pressed down to hold the water in the sink (press again to pop it up and drain the water), goes right over the existing/remaining part of the drain. The larger “surround" has a cage that catches hair as well. It adheres without doing anything permanent and can be fully removed without anyone ever knowing it was there! It simply uses a very thin, plasticy/rubbery ‘washer’ which just sticks over the broken ring left there by the cheap piece originally there. A tiny flat screwdriver is all that's needed to lift it easily up for cleaning; then press it down and it sticks again. No glue or chemicals, water can make things stick or attract to each other. The scientific term for this is adhesion; where water acts like a ‘glue’, yeah nothing holds together other than water. Had it for a while and it doesn't dry out or release when you don't want to. A very clever, and quite handy, little invention and wound up being an easy fix and a perfect solution for my issue. A strong recommendation!

Solid replacement for standard stopper
The sink drain was purchased as the original stopper kept slipping off the cross bar underneath the sink. It was easy to insert and use for the main bathroom sink. After two months use, it has been easy to use and clean. It catches hair, including from shaving, to prevent build up in the drain. The only drawback that I have found is the stopper drains slowly, even if the trap is clean. The quick solution is to remove the stopper but would recommend for future versions, to slim down the mechanism to allow faster drain. For the price, I would recommend it.

They work but…
These look great at first, but I have a couple of issues. First, water running full force will back up in the sink for some reason. I thought it might be the strainer but removing the little mesh basket didn’t make a difference. Then the water drains slow and for some reason they don’t allow all the water to drain away out of the sink. There’s always a half inch or so of water in the sink around the stopper. I constantly have to remove them. They do catch hair and debris and are easy to clean, I will give them that, but I ended up replacing the stoppers with something else after a few months.

Great product - works great and looks nice too.
These are fantastic - fit a standard bathroom sink drain perfectly, and replaced the old sink stopper that was grungy and wouldn't seal/hold water anymore. Great product!

This Drain Strainer comes with a extra thin rubber ring
Works Great! I like many buyers, was skeptical of this Pop-up Stainless Steel Sink Drain Strainer, when I first took it out of the box a thin rubber ring/gasket fall out, but all rubber pieces were already on the Strainer, so I put the strainer into my face bowl sink drain. The only problem that I thought that I had was, the metal rim of the Strainer did not lay flat, it still allowed water to slowly drain out, I looked in the box again and there was a thinner rubber ring/gasket, I took off the thick rubber ring/gasket off of the top of the metal strainer piece and replaced it with the thinner one and the Strainer laid flat on my face bowl drain... Problem Solved! No water escaping very easy to use. If anyone did not get a thin rubber ring/gasket in with their Sink Drain, go to your local hardware and purchase one for less than a dollar and replace the thick one with a thinner one. No clogging, this Strainer does not clog my drain when running water when the stopper is not pushed in and the material it is sturdy, not thick at all, very easy to take off the stainless steel basket to clean it and reinstall it.

small holes in filter -- you decide if that's good or bad
this does not take much effort to pull out, which is a good thing because the filter catches everything, including what comes out of a runny nose if you blow and rinse down the sink -- the filter comes off easily, so you can use it without the filter -- on my wifes side, she had to clean the filter every other day because of the hair that got caught and the toothpaste that got caught on the hair -- again you can remove the filter and have a perfectly good push to plug stopper in the sink rather than fussing with the push/pull rod behind the faucet -- it held water for 30 hours in my un-scientific test -- I would have expected a more secure O-ring to seal it in but it works just fine and pretty much is the same as all of the other ones I looked at on Amazon.com -- I have 2 other sinks in the house that could use this but they almost never get used -- just the rare occasion we get overnight company

Pretty good
These are ok. They’re definitely an upgrade from what I had before. They do slow down the drainage quite a bit. They’re easy to install because you just place them on top of what’s already there. Easy to use and easy to remove. So far, they seem to be catching what they need to (hair, debris etc) before it goes down the drain.
