BIOWIND Quiet Smart Register Booster Fan Fits 6" x 12" Register Holes

No more expensive portable room air conditioners that last less than 5 years!! These work to cool living areas: kitchen in the mornings, bedroom at night. Can't say they are 'quiet' when fan is set to high (8-10), but it's not invasive, more like airplane engine noise at cruise altitude (white noise actually puts most people to sleep, the reason so many people take a flying nap). Settings are simple to make and so far, no problem with digital panel working as expected. Important Note: these plug into electrical outlet, so carefully consider whether they can plug in near your target register vents. Elec cord is reasonably long. I've only used these for one month (summer) with central ac cooling, so can't speak to longevity, but with my bdrm door closed for an hour before bedtime, they bring temperature down abt 10 degrees (with ac running, then I turn central hvac off at bedtime, bdrm stays cool all night). Colder rooms help with getting to sleep. One more thing. These vent units measure the air temp blowing from the vent, not the room temperature. You select the vent temp -- for summer mine is set to come on when vented air is below 70; next winter over 80. Note: an issue arises when trying to set both at same time (not a flaw, issue is covered in instructions), simple to set it once per season.

This product does work wonders. My central a/C vents are on the floor. This product sucks the air out of my vent making my bedroom nice and cold. I love the level of speed. A do recommend. Just make sure you have the right measurements.

Surprisingly good device and works as expected. Makes a big difference with the cooling of our upstairs bedroom. Will be ordering more.

PROS: Item as described, Arrived on time. CONS: Temp sensor on unit super sensitive or over Calibrated. Fans kick on and off erratically when your HVAC system is kicking on and when shutting down...

I have the 6X10 inch fan. The product kind of works the way it's supposed to, but it just doesn't satisfy the demands in a hot weather climate. After reading the instructions 10 times to make sure I understood how to set the cool set point, I set it for 67. That's right in between my target room temp of 75 and the 59 degree AC air temp coming out of the vent. Theoretically, the fan should shut off when the air in the duct rises to 67. The problem is, aluminum holds its temp for a long time, so the temp in the duct never warms back up to 67 before the AC comes back on. And when it's 90-plus outside, the AC comes on again long before the air in the vent ever reaches the cool set point of 67. In other words, the fan is always on. At this point, I just turn it on manually to level 5 and leave it on that all night. I turn it off (to level 0) when I don't need it. But this is the weakest room in the house and the fan DOES keep it cooler when it's turned on.

This item has worked great for my son’s room. My son’s used to be so hot because it was the farthest from the hvac, but now he doesn’t complain when the ac is on. My son also lost the remote and I emailed the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement remote. Great customer service.

This really works. I have a large upstairs room with only 1 narrow floor register, non-standard size. After research, I bought this, placed it over the opening, and used duck tape to seal/keep it in place. The airflow is definitely stronger. It isn’t a miracle, but it definitely helps! I think I will save at least the price if the fan in cooling cost. It’s set to level 8/10, and I don’t even notice the sound any more.

Installed two in upstairs wall registers. Installation was easy. It looks nice. On fan setting 10, it moves a lot of air but is too noisy for sleeping. I use it mostly in Summer for a/c, and on 10, it makes the room about 5 degrees F cooler. Be aware it can make other rooms hotter by stealing air flow from their vents. Unfortunately my TV remote control also makes this fan do weird things. The most interfering button on the Vizio XRT136 remote is MUTE. As such, I’ve taken to covering the fan receiving-led port with black tape, which means i have to move the tape every time i use its remote. Oh well.
