*update. The company’s Customer support reached out and offered and provided a refund. The particular product had some flaws as you can read below, but the customer service was surprisingly responsive and supportive. Original review: Range of motion was pretty limited… And it would not stay gripped to whatever surface you clamped it to. The rubber pad material started to slip off indicating that the glue was not sufficient. Only used twice and the tension nut for the phone holder portion split rendering the entire thing useless. Missed the return window, so into the trash it went. :-(

I installed it on a massage chair, so it's a little bit inappropriate! But overall it feels good!

I came to really on this for the best lighting in the house, it didn't last long.

The phone holder arrived in a very sturdy box and arrived in good shape. The assembly is intuitive but I followed the instructions anyway. They were very clear, easy to read and understand. The drawings showing the assembly were excellent. I plan on using this at the work bench in my train room to follow how-to videos, listen to music or just plain 'keep it out of the way' and accessible without getting lost.. My bench top is just a little too thick, 2-1/4", for the clamp to fit so I temporarily jury rigged it in place while I come up with a better plan. Even installed like this the holder is very secure and steady. When I first took this out of its box I thought that it was a lot smaller than expected. But this size is perfect for my application, as it easily places my phone at eye level. It can be lowered down as low as needed to have side-be-side comparison with your work piece or raised to about 22" above the work surface. This holder is well designed and constructed with features not provided on other similar devices including lamps. Each joint is adjustable and equipped with a tightening knob including where the holder fits into mounting base. The base has two mounting holes that can be used on either a horizontal or vertical surface and still allow the holder to be vertical. The phone holder has a soft opening when the button on the back is depressed. Multiple clips are provided that snap onto the holder that are used for securing the charging cable for the phone when needed. This is better than I expected with many unexpected features that are appreciated. I see this getting a lot of use.

Spring design was clunky and hard to adjust

I really like this Gooseneck Phone Holder for Bed Desk (3rd Upgrade.) It was put together within 5 minutes very easily. There are instructions and a video but I did not need them. This device is clamped to the front of an end table in my living room. This way I can have my phone ready for running my Apple TV, web searching, phone calls, and convenient charging. The range of motion is very nice it just takes a little getting used to maneuvering it. Adjusting the knobs locks it into a wide variety of positions depending on what we need. There are four charging cord holders provided to keep a cable in place as we move the phone stand. So far this stand has been very stable with no shaking while using the phone. If LISEN is paying attention to the reviews I suggest taking a Magsafe device from the vehicle cell phone holders and offering it for sale separately. They should easily mount to the end of this phone holder and will securely hold newer phones. This is a great size of cell phone stand, it does not have a huge profile like some others do.
