Pleasantly surprised--my plans are actually doing better
I picked this up about a month or two ago because a few of my houseplants were clearly struggling in my apartment's low light, and I didn't want to keep watching them slowly decline. I wasn't expecting miracles, but I have to say this light has been worth it. The difference in my plants hasn't been overnight or dramatic, but it's been real and consistent. New leaves coming in, better color, less of that sad droopy look I was used to seeing. That's honestly all I needed to see to feel good about the purchase. The brightness and coverage surprised me. It throws a lot of usable light across a decent area — more than I expected from a single bulb. My plants aren't all crammed directly underneath it and they're still benefiting, which is a nice bonus when you're working with limited space. The fact that it screws into a regular socket is a bigger deal than it sounds. I already had a clamp light I wasn't really using — swapped the bulb in, clamped it right onto my shelf, aimed it at my plants, and that was it. No special hardware, no complicated setup, just plug and go. A couple things to keep in mind: it is a bright light, so if you're putting it in a living space you'll probably want to put it on a timer rather than leaving it on all day. And it does run a little warm, which I expected but is worth knowing. Overall, solid product. Nothing flashy, just works. For the price and the simplicity, I'd buy it again.

This grow light completely transformed my basil plant in only two months.
First image is first day of use, second image is today after 2 months of use. 1. Plant recovery: my basil plant was in poor condition and looked like it was going to die, but it recovered after we started using this bulb 2. Growth: the plant became significantly fuller and began producing much more basil 3. Brightness: the bulb is extremely bright and provides strong, consistent light 4. Results: we now harvest enough basil to dry and blend instead of purchasing dried basil from the store 5. Value: we originally paid $24 for the plant and spent about $72 total on this bulb and a compatible lamp, but the results made it worthwhile 6. Visible difference: the before-and-after photos clearly show how much healthier and fuller the plant became Real use: We bought this light after our basil plant started looking weak and damaged. After two months under the light, it did not just recover, it grew enough basil for us to begin drying and blending our own herbs. Cons: I have not experienced any meaningful drawbacks. The bulb is extremely bright, but that is exactly what I wanted from a grow light. Bottom line: This bulb is unbelievable. I would love to create a three-week time-lapse to show how quickly it helps the basil grow. I love the results, but I am sure my basil plant loves it even more.

Helping my succulents thrive during a midwest winter
I have these situated over my jades, a couple of euphorbias, and a dish of assorted smaller succulents. These are a total game-changer for those of us trying to grow heat and sun-loving plants in the wintertime. I’m even getting that nice sun blush that makes succulents even more beautiful. Also great for a little rehab for a plant that needs some TLC. I recommend these lights whenever someone asks about grow lights. These lights haven’t really impacted my electricity bill. If you’re looking for grow lights and want to avoid higher energy costs, LEDs are a great option, they’re very efficient. UPDATE SPRING 2020: I thought I would add some updated photos, see the ones labeled “Spring 2020.” I am still really happy with these bulbs. I got them in the fall of 2019, so this photo represents about 7 months of use. I keep adding more plants to the area around them. Plants love these lights! UPDATE WINTER 2021: I now have five of these bulbs total, I just added two more. Something I am learning is you HAVE to allow for heat dissipation with these or they might fail on you! Four days ago, I changed some of the shades to ones that looked better but trapped the heat in more, especially on top. Today, four days into this new setup, two of my older bulbs began to flicker and one of them went out completely. I realized it either had to be a helluva coincidence or my new shade setup was damaging the bulbs. A quick google confirmed this suspicion. Learn from my mistake! Also, take a look at all the bad reviews here. In the ones that have a photo, you can see they have the bulb in a fixture that doesn’t allow the heat to escape. Sansi isn’t to blame for this, they do warn about proper installation, but I think they should perhaps have more prominent and detailed instruction about using these bulbs in fixtures or with shades. If your bulb fails and it wasn’t the fixture, make sure to contact Sansi. These come with a 5-year unlimited warranty. I won’t be doing that because my situation is user error, but it seems a lot of the people who left negative reviews could have simply asked for a replacement.

Great Grow Light for DIY Track Lights
Bought these for an indoor plant setup and they've exceeded expectations. Plenty of light output, natural color, and they're easy to replace if needed. A great option if you want something functional that still looks good in your home.

Great aquarium plant growth
Testing the 30W daylight as an aquarium light on a 40 gallon, planted Walstad tank. So far the plants seem to love it, and the growth has been much more lush with larger leaves, thicker too. The red toned plants such as bacopa and rotala rotundifolia had stayed green up until I added this light to the tank lighting array. Now the bacopa is turning that rich reddish brown it is supposed to be and the rotala is getting the pink flush on its leaves. The hornwort is so dense and lush its incredible compared to its brethren on the outer edge of the tank which don't get this light. I'm using this clamp light holder as the lamp: Adjustable LED Clamp Lighting Mount/clip Holder E27 Socket Gooseneck Clamp / Mount The gooseneck bends nicely and I currently have the the light suspended about 10 inches above the water. It is a supplemental light to 2 of these: EcoSmart 120W Equivalent Day Light PAR38 Dimmable LED Flood Light Bulb (2-Pack) that I'm also using on this tank. I bought the Ecosmart LED flood lights at Home Depot for $14.99 for a 2 pack so only rougly $7.50 a bulb and they are great. I don't know how much of the plant growth can be contributed to the additional light spectrum they provide. They each have a 40 degree spread whereas this Sansi light has a wider 60 degree spread, so I get some overlap. This is a benefit on the one hand but does mean seeing a little bit of bright glare from the side view of the light. Thankfully the light holder (purchased separately as described above) is adjustable to many angles so I just tilt it in towards the wall a bit. One downside is that it's not as bright as I was hoping. I wanted to suspend it even higher above the water to get the ripply effect in the water, and to keep the LEDs well above the eyes of the livestock when they feed, sort of more like the sun, instead of them having harsh LEDs directly in their eyeballs like specialized aquarium LEDs seem to do. Sansi do make a brighter 40W version but it's rather expensive at $39.99. I might splurge though as the plant growth is so impressive. My cherry shrimp seem to like it too as I often find them up in the foliage now, basking in the light since adding it. Overall I like it but wish the price wasn't so high and wish there was a version which eliminated the slight ring of side glare for aquariums where the light ends up being just above eye level.

Satisfied
Positives: - The light does not get hot. I can touch it at any time and it will not burn my skin. It is warm to the touch. - It saved my jade plants on the left. I watered them in November last year and their location in my apartment received little light. As a result, the soil stayed wet and I lost about half the growth. I bought this light in January year (2020) - almost a year ago - to provide light to the plants (I also bought a heating pad to help the base dry out). It's hard to say which one saved my favorite jade plants, but I'd like to think they both worked well together. The jade has new growth on it under this light (I rotate them in and out around the edges while keeping the more light-dependent cactus and euphorbia directly beneath the light) even during the winter. Also, the plants dry out faster in this brighter space and with the grow light, so I am very pleased. - My cactus and euphorbia plants seem to do well under the light (they should be in hibernation with the cooler temperatures). I expect decent growth from them once it warms up in the building as spring approaches. - My aloe responded very well under the light and put out new growth even though it should be dormant right now. I have moved it out so that it can rest. The light seems effective and is never too hot to touch - which is in my opinion the best thing about this light - as I want it to continue to provide light to my succulents without forcing them out of dormancy too early. The added heat would counteract that, so this cool bulb is perfect. It is plenty bright - it hurts the eyes to look upon it directly (which I do not recommend doing). Negatives - I haven't seen any. A year later and my succulents are healthy, seemingly happy with appropriate growth levels. I do not know how it performs with flowering plants or broad-leafed plants, but for succulents, it has performed well a year out without any issues.

Excellent bulb, my plants seem to like it. Larger than I thought.
I've never used a grow light before but was experimenting with growing some herbs indoor. The bulb is fairly large and heavy and feels very sturdy. It looks like something out of a scifi movie. I probably should have ordered a larger lamp but it fits in a standard lamp size and socket but is a tight fit as the bulb is large. It gives off a very pleasant and bright light which is not harsh, hot or irritating. I am not an experienced plant grower but so far I have seen a very noticeable jump in the health of my plants under the light. I don't get a great deal of sunlight where my plants are and they are certainly improving with the presence of steady light. I have it on about 10 hours a day with no issues so far. Highly recommended.
