Finally found a hydrating lip gloss with staying power. I get frustrated at the current options available on the market because, while they all add shine for the 5 minutes they stay on your lips, none of them actually hydrate your lips. In fact many of them seem to zap moisture right out of them, leaving my always-dry lips feeling worse than before I used the gloss. The lip glosses that everyone called "sticky" were the only ones that did anything to hydrate my lips, and it's unfortunate that so many cosmetic companies have changed their formulas to the lower quality, drying, greasy waste of money that they all push now. I have been looking desperately to find a replacement for my last tube of Clinique long wear lip gloss, as it's almost empty and I was starting to panic, thinking I was doomed to a world of useless "lip butters" and "lip oils" that I have to reapply 17 times a day. I suppose I'm in the minority of women who want the "sticky" lip glosses back (pleeeease!) I've seen this City Lips lip gloss on Instagram so many times and ignored it, figuring it was no different from all the other junk out there right now. But there's a new version of the ad now that made me take a second look and finally pull the trigger. It's a significant price tag, so I was a little nervous, but I was not disappointed. While this gloss is not quite as "sticky" as my trusty Clinique, it still has similar staying power, and it feels at least equally hydrating. I've only had it for one day, but I already know I've found my new favorite, and as long as they don't change formula, I'm a lifer. I'm in my mid 40's so my lips are not as smooth as they once were. This gloss does help plump up the little natural creases in my lips. The effect is subtle, but at my age every little bit matters. And I appreciate that I personally don't feel any tingle or burning when I put it on. There is a bit of an odd smell to it while I apply it, but it seems to dissipate quickly afterwards, and it tastes slightly sweet, not perfumy like other glosses I've had the displeasure of trying out. The tube is pretty large, so I feel like I'm getting a lot for the price. It's noticeably larger than the old Clinique tube. Love, love, love it. Don't change a thing. Please.

If I could give a “0” I would—$35 down the drain. It was sticky, thick, tingling. It most definitely transfers, and did not plump at all…I tried to get it off, but it wouldn’t come off, so I had to wash it off. what an inconsistent product. Apparently some people liked it, but if you look at the reviews, they are all over the map. I certainly wouldn’t buy any City Beauty Lips again, clearly their Quality Control Team are sleeping on the job.

Received today, tried first time this morning. Love it. Slight tingle, no burn. I am 50, but in my twenties I always wanted BIG lips. So a friend told me about this device called a Lip Pump. Well I went crazy with that thing, it definitely made my lips very large temporarily but because I didn’t follow instructions and it’s probably a horrible drive anyway, I often ended up with bruising around my mouth. Speed forward to me at age 49..I started noticing that there were puckers in my lips where I’d obviously burst blood vessels. So as I age they look worse than they should for someone my age. (I was never a smoker, btw). My point in sharing this is that Im very pleased with the results and love that it’s also cruelty free. I will try a color next time because as we age lips lose their natural color too, fun stuff getting older ladies! I first saw City Lips on Instagram but didn’t want to buy through an outside party, was very glad to see it was available on Amazon. Hope this helps!! Happy shopping!

My honest review about this product is, although it’s definitely hydrating on my lips, it doesn’t produce a plumping effect just as being exaggeratingly advertised. I’m just speaking of the lipgloss itself. I haven’t tried their other products that claim dramatic results upon using in addition to it. This lipgloss is not transfer-proof and the longevity is subpar when used by itself. You’ll have to constantly re-apply quite a few times throughout the day as it goes away pretty fast especially after you eat or drink. The reason for my 3-star review is that, I’ve noticed that my lips have become healthier than before using this product. I’ve tried so many brands in the past that were even more expensive than this and they made my lips dry and even chapped. This lipgloss stands out as it does the opposite. My lips feel and look supple even after taking it off. When it comes to color, I always opt for opaque, warm undertone shades matching the natural color of my lips. I’ve read some of the reviews here claiming that the nude or lighter shades almost make their lips look white or pale so I’m glad I picked the right colors for myself. I suggest utilizing their virtual try-on option first, to give you an idea as to how each shade may look on your lips. Price-wise, it’s pretty tough to rationalize spending over $30 on a tube that doesn’t even last for a month but for what it’s worth, I must say it’s a pretty good investment. They could’ve made their price point more reasonable than what it is, but for someone like me who doesn’t wear & spend money on a lot of make up & other stuff, this lipgloss doesn’t break the bank. Unlike a lot of women these days that slap on or war paint their faces with heavy pounds of make up, I always prefer to go natural-looking, so this lipgloss has become a great addition to my tinted moisturizer when going out. It makes me look like I spend a little more effort with very little time to appear quite aesthetic on all occasions.

I’ve been an Esthetician for 25 years while makeup is not my specialty I’ve tried many different lip moisturizers plumpers etc this is awesome. It works lovely. It has such a natural look. No tingling, irritation or redness. I suggest it always gently exfoliate your lips. This way you can have better absorption of products with better results. The only reason why I give this 4 stars is because I feel like it is slightly overpriced. But either way, I look forward to trying other colors. And recommending it to clients and friends.

High gloss and VERY moisturizing. I've timed it: after 3.5 hours of wear, my lips were still moisturized. I've never spent this much money on a gloss before but this is worth it. After regular use for about 3 weeks, it no longer tingles, so for those wondering, yes, your lips do get used to it. It is a heavy gloss, which is why it lasts so long on the lips, but for those that say the heaviness bothers them, there is a way to apply it sonit doesn't build up while wearing it: just apply it to the part of your lips that can be seen when your lips are together. If you put it where your lips touch each other, it will bulk up there. Keep it it front of where your lips touch and you'll love this stuff!

I had high hopes I am over 50 and I have the small lines or on my lips and this sounded like a good product for myself it is moisturizing but I don't see really any big change in the plump department...I was going between this lip plumper and the smooch brand... this one just sounded like it had long term benefits but I'm not seeing any like instant results so I thought maybe using a little longer would help I don't know I'm not extremely pleased with it but I'm not saying that it's junk or anything like that either it is very moisturizing..my main thing was needing that plumpness to my lips that I'm not really getting with this product I'm not completely disappointed I guess. I'll try out the smooch brand and hopefully see the results I'm looking for. Just a little sad it didn't work for me. Now I've had this for a couple of months and I see no results than I would with chapstick. Very disappointed in this product for $35 this isn't cheap and I wish I had chosen the smooche brand instead. At least they had a good deal by one get one free. I really had high hopes for this product just kind of bummed and wasted $35 that I could have spent on perfume or something better.

I think the negative reviews are mostly due to unrealistic expectations. Of course a lip gloss is not going to make your lips look like you got them inflated at a clinic. Nothing topical can do that. But for a lip gloss, this stuff does make lips look slightly “done”. Meaning it makes them look a little bit plumper and reduces the appearance of lines on your lips. It cannot reduce the look of lines above your lips, only the ones ON your lips. I love the color and the feel of it. It’s not too sticky. It just feels good on my lips. It is not all day wear - you will have to reapply especially after eating and drinking. It does stay nice looking on me for hours if I’m not eating and drinking. Every all-day lip color I’ve ever tried, does not give any plumping look. And any plumping lip gloss I’ve tried, must be reapplied at least after eating. But I’ve tried many lip products over the years and rarely liked one as much as I like this one. This is my new fave!

All I can say is wow. Bought another colour. I was skeptical at first but this stuff is worth it. You can really feel it working on your lips. Best advice- give your lips a gentle exfoliation before applying the product. Don't irritate the lips but just enough to take any access dead skin off then apply city lips.

I’ve been using this for couple months now and although it’s not immediate Ivan definitely see an improvement specifically around my top lip. I’ve just ordered another colour I’m that impressed. I’m a 60 year old woman whose lips are gradually disappearing but don’t want to use fillers etc,so I’m definitely happy with the results. Don’t give up if you don’t see improvement straight away, I stick with it.
