Samsung Portable SSD T7, 4TB, Titan Gray, USB3.2, Type-C, R/W(Max) 1,050MB/s, Aluminium Case, 3 Years Warranty (MU-PC4T0T/WW)

I use this mainly for backing up photos and video from shoots and it's been fantastic. Transfer speeds are noticeably quick, especially over USB 3.2. Copying a batch of RAW files from my camera cards takes a fraction of the time compared to my old portable HDD. The 2TB capacity is more than enough for what I need and the physical size of it is impressively small, fits easily in my camera bag. The indigo blue colour looks smart too which is a nice touch. Build quality feels solid despite being so lightweight and it's survived being thrown around in bags without any issues so far. I use it alongside my Synology NAS for offsite backup and it's perfect for that workflow. Only thing I'd say is the included USB C cable is quite short so you might want a longer one depending on your setup.

The Samsung T7 Portable SSD has exceeded my expectations. Transfer speeds are incredibly fast — large video files move in seconds, and working directly off the drive feels almost as smooth as using my internal SSD. Perfect for editing projects on the go. The size is another big plus: it’s small, lightweight, and fits easily in a pocket or laptop sleeve. Despite its compact form, it feels solid and well-built, with a sleek metal casing that also helps dissipate heat. Setup was simple — just plug and play. Samsung’s software for password protection and encryption is also a nice bonus for extra security. One small note: since it’s so tiny and light, it’s easy to misplace, so I recommend keeping it in a case or pouch. Other than that, no complaints

I love this thing, tiny, lovely looking ( I have the red one and yes I know looks don't matter with this type of product but it just looks great!). Normally I have an NVME drive in a separate USB 3 or TB enclosure and run it through TB as I have a Macstudio, but I also have Windows laptops that don't have superspeed connections that I use the drives with so I thought this time I would give one of these a go. I also bought the little groovy case for protection. It's still super small (did I mention that?) so not much more to it than one of the USBC NVME enclosures, feels a little sturdier and I get decent speeds. I know that the price of storage has fallen but as of this review on 14th Sept it's £65.99 for the 1 TB, that's madness compared to where we have been before and actually not that far removed from the price of making one yourself. Ok, so the downside compared to making one yourself is it seems to be so well made you can't swap it out for another drive yourself. There may be a way but it doesn't seem obvious to me, but that is the only downside. I imagine that's for protection because it feels sturdy as heck, and literally fits in the palm of my hand. The question is if I had the same need would I buy one again or do as I usually do and put one together myself? Well unless you have TB speeds or 3.2x2 where you would feel the benefit from making a faster drive this would do you more than fine. It reached the advertised speeds, is super sturdy, super small, lovely looking and tactile with a marginal price difference between it and making one yourself with the same speed. So, unless you need to swap out the disks then go for it, If you do then think for a minute and decide if the many plus points outweigh the need. I have no regrets about buying this but then it is for a particular use case.

This thing was recommended to me by Chat GPT. I use it as a secondary disc on my PC. So far it works fine. Why not giving it 5 stars yet? Cos I bought it this year. If it works fine for, say, 2 years, I'll give it 5 stars. This is my rule: never give 5 stars in advance for something that is supposed to work for a long time. To sum it up: my experience is 5 stars so far.

Tiny and very fast. Excellent product.

Have had this for a few years now - solid, good speed, and reliable. 5/5

L'SSD portatile Samsung T7 è semplicemente straordinario: trasferimenti a velocità fulminea rispetto a qualsiasi hard disk esterno tradizionale. Il design in metallo è elegante, compatto e solidissimo. Si scalda pochissimo anche con trasferimenti prolungati. Perfetto per backup, editing video e trasporto di grandi quantità di dati. Acquisto che consiglio a tutti.

The Samsung T7 Portable SSD is one of the best portable drives for 2025, offering an excellent balance of speed, security, and portability at a competitive price. It’s perfect for content creators, gamers, and professionals on the go, though those needing water resistance or longer warranties might consider alternatives like the SanDisk Extreme Pro or Samsung T7 Shield.

Everything you could want it to be.

I use this to clone my Mac and PC disks. They have worked without a hitch for what seems like forever. A very good product.
