Excellent Tool!
This is a great scanner that doesn’t break the bank, I wanted good hardware and good software, the VD70 Lite has a Quad Core Processor and 64GB of storage . Other scanners only offer 32GB of storage which limits your software updates and makes your scanner slow, with 64GB of storage you can do full updates without worrying about running out of space. This scanner is fast and best of all, you get free lifetime updates, excellent value. Plus, this scanner is bi-directional and also allows you to view live data, this helps a lot when you troubleshoot, no need to remove the parts and manually test them. Being a Bidirectional scanner allows you to test components directly from the scanner saving you time and effort. I recently got a check engine light on my older 2006 corolla, did a scan and got code P0456 (Emission control Evap Small leak) as usual I checked the usual suspects, all my evap hose lines, looking for any cracks or loose connections, all looked good, pushed some smoke to detect hard to find hose cracks, all was good. I assume that It would probably be my purge valve, but I was able to test the purge valve from the scanner using one of the many bi-directional functions it offers, that was quick and easy, I could hear the purge valve opening and closing, verified purge valve had no air leaks. After not finding any line leaks, I remember that this is a 2006 corolla with the original Gas Cap, after inspecting it I could see that the gas cap gasket was so old that it had multiple deep cracks that caused a bad seal on the gas tank. After replacing the Gas Cap seal and driving the car a few cycles, my check engine light cleared. I did not clear it myself to validate that it was the bad seal I fixed. You can’t go wrong with this scanner; you get professional diagnostics quality at home and remember free lifetime updates, highly recommended.

Highly competitive Bi-Directional Automotive scanner
Pros: Premium level hardware, wifi, touchscreen, quality carry case. Snappy performance, navigating from menu to menu. Plenty of options and features. I would recommend using the tool for a couple of hours to become familiar with it. Has a lot of PIDs that are not on a normal OBD2 reader Very competitive pricing vs other similar brands in this class (I checked) Very responsive support Comes with a kickstand Professional level BI-Directional scanner Comes with a builtin camera, microphone, and speaker. 31+ Reset functions (ABS bleeding, Oil, transmission, TPMS, Battery, etc) 3 Years worth of updates (I have downloaded updates for Honda and Mazda already twice in 30 days) Although the model says "Lite" that does not reflect the reduced functionality and it supports a decent variety of car brands. Recommendation: A definite buy if you are a serious DIY mechanic. Cons: On the box it says 24/7 support, but it is Asian time business hours (night time for me) Could use a tempered glass screen protector (even if I can buy it separately) Although it has a lot of Reset functions, a lot of them are only for specific car brands. But this is how it is with all Bi-Directional scanners. I did not deduct any stars, because it has earned the 5 stars.

Nice scanner, great value for the $
I had a technical question right at first, emailed the company and got a personal response I started hearing more feedback from mechanics saying the tool truck brand scanners aren’t stacking up anymore to what’s available these days (supposedly high end) I couldn’t hold back anymore with the costs coming down and more mechanics using them. The more I use this tool the easier it gets and the more useful tools I find. That said; no more than I have to compare it to I’m still satisfied that it is feature packed and a one of the most economical scanners I could find. I’ve only used it so far on US domestic cars and trucks but no issues, and quickly resolved issues I found with the cars. The smaller size and heft are impressive also easily connected, the boot up time is sort of slow but nothing I can complain about with all the other advantages. The data quality and crisp display are paramount.

VDiagtool VD70 Lite--best value diagnostic scan tool for DIY!
I bought this scan tool a few weeks ago to check transmission fluid temperatures, which is necessary when checking the transmission fluid levels after servicing on the newer Toyotas with “sealed” transmissions. What I love about the VD70 Lite is the compact size, simplicity, and robust build quality. I have an older scan tool that has a larger screen and more functions but has a carrying case the size of a small briefcase. For relatively simple diagnostic functions or reading live data (like transmission temperature) I wanted a more compact unit, and this fits the bill perfectly. For any trouble codes/DTCs you can select it, and it will open a browser to explain exactly what it is (Android 10.0 OS). The VD70 Lite takes roughly 35 seconds to boot up to full functionality. The screen is bright and clear with a responsive touchscreen. I own three Toyotas (2018 Sienna, 2014 Sequoia, and 2006 Matrix) and this diagnostic tool worked across all three. I’m not a professional mechanic but do my own maintenance (fluid changes, coolant, spark plugs, suspension, brake pads/rotors, etc) and have not had to use the bi-directional features available but have found the ability to read live data quite helpful. One note, I was hoping that this would be able to reset the sensed alcohol level in the ECU of my flex-fuel Sequoia but this feature is not available yet….hopefully I’ll get an update from VDiagtool in the future. Speaking of updates, make sure you connect to the internet and give it at least 30 minutes to download all the latest updates when you first get this. In short, I find myself using this a lot more than my older, larger/advanced diagnostic tool that has both wired/Bluetooth connections, as I prefer the size, speed, and simplicity of just plugging this directly into the OBD2 port. (This is a new model for 2024 and the Android OS and processing speed is noticeably faster than older devices) Pros: cost/value, perfect compact size (not too big, not too small), rugged build quality, built in kickstand, compact carry case, USB-C charging, long battery life, free updates for 3 years. Cons: Does not have all the advanced features for my Toyota Sequoia FFV, but then again this is the VD70 “Lite” version and flex fuel features are more niche. Almost forgot…I’m relatively new to VDiagtool as a brand but have been blown away by the customer service. I’ve e-mailed several questions to their tech support and I get a response in 24 hours or less.

Lacks, slow, but helps
It doesn’t do GMC well and lacks depth for instructions how to’s like simple tire pressure monitors clear. Not for GM anyway. Also it’s VERY SLOW. But it does have a robust menu feature list of other vehicles, just not sure how much can be done with those. Also it should have ECU programming, this is a inexpensive software and should be added.

Great entry level Bi-directional Scan Tool
During the past few weeks I have hooked the scan tool to three vehicles of different brands and years. The oldest is a 2007 Toyota Highlander Hybrid (gas-electric). The second is a 2013 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Z71. The third is a 2012 RAM 3500 with 6.2L Cummins. The VD70Lite has a familiar feel to my more expensive Xtool D8. I believe the reason is VdiagTools and Xtool are sister companies? The VD70Lite and D8 vehicle specific software are at the same revision and many menus have the same layouts and symbols for the various “Special Functions”. The VD70Lite boots up and readies it's self fairly quickly. The VD70Lite was able to readily identify the vehicle and VIN using the “Auto Scan” on the three vehicles mentioned above. With older vehicles one may find less bi-directional control/abilities available to the scan tool user for a particular vehicle. For example, both the VD70Lite and D8 provide “Oil Reset” as a Special Function but both tools only provide text instructions for the reset for the 2007 Toyota Highlander, while both were able to use bi-directional control to reset the oil life on the 2013 Suburban. Both VdiagTools and Xtool recommend going to their respective websites to check tool compatibility/functionality you can expect for your vehicle prior to purchase. The amount of live data that can be viewed is quite large for engine management and controls. I think there is more PID info available than needed most of the time. The tool user will likely still need vehicle reference information to understand what data values mean or which are needed for the current diagnostics being attempted. Live data can be viewed for most vehicle modules, and if desired, recorded (up to 8 PIDs). “Data View” allows graphical view of a data recording with a vertical cursor that when dragged along the timeline, synched data values are displayed. “Data Playback” allows grouping of recorded data PIDs so their data can be played together in a custom list. The selected group can be combined to show simultaneously in a colored graph with rewind, play/pause, and fast forward. This “Data Playback” function is a complaint of mine and is similar in operation the Xtool D8 in that there is no drag handle to move forward or backward in time, making finding a particular incident quite tedious. In closing, you get what you pay for when it comes to scan tools and I feel the VD70Lite is a pretty good bi-directional scan tool option for the home/DIY user that won't break the bank.

OBD2 Reader
I bought this unit hoping i could do a lot on my GM vehicle just to find out every time i wanted to perform an action on a module it would force me to BCM module for scan and not allow you to control an electronic item supported by the BCM - also once the trial expires it forces you to register otherwise you can longer use the OBD2 reader ( Unreal )

Best yet cheapest Android Bidirectional tablet with Lifetime Updates! Insane!!
This tablet is seriously impressive especially at this price for an Android bidirectional tablet, it makes me regret buying mine at double the price. USB-C charging and a wired OBD2 connection make it way more reliable than those annoying Bluetooth dongles. The build quality feels better than the competition, and the kickstand is a great touch! Performance-wise, it’s shockingly fast—even compared to my other diagnostic tablet that costs twice as much. Clicking, scrolling, and loading all happen instantly, and communication with the car is very fast. An android bidirectional tablet with ** lifetime updates ** is an absolute game changer. That’s almost unheard for these kinds of tablets. My other one only gets three years of updates, and many people I know in the market seriously worry about this fact, so this is a BIG win. Software updates install way faster than my XTOOL. If the first update doesn’t work right away, just give it a day—it likely resolves itself after the initial setup due to timezone updates right after setup. I tested this with my Lexus GX460, Honda Element, Lincoln MKX and BMW 540i and honestly, all functions worked, and I honestly couldn't find any features this lacked versus my more expensive tablet. All actuation features were available just like mine, processing was fast, no lag or crashing. I've attached the actuation with my speedo for proof, this was a breeze to use. I should have bought VDIAGTool In the first place. For the price, this is hands down one of the best bidirectional diagnostic tablets you can buy. Highly recommend!!

Compact, Efficient, and Perfect for On-the-Go Scanning!
I am genuinely impressed with this scan tool! Its small, compact size makes it incredibly convenient, especially compared to my larger scanner. This lightweight design is ideal for bringing along when I need to perform diagnostics on the go, whether I’m working in the garage or helping out a friend. The package includes everything you need right out of the box: an OBD plug and a charger cable. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that it arrived with a significant amount of battery already charged, so I could use it right away without needing to charge it first. The carrying case is another great touch—it’s not just compact, but it also comes with secure foam padding inside to protect the scanner from any potential damage during transport. This level of protection ensures that the scanner remains safe and functional, even when it’s bouncing around in my tool bag. In terms of performance, this scanner really shines. It scans quickly and provides clear and concise information on any trouble codes that may arise. One feature I particularly appreciate is that when you click on a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code), it will even do a quick search for more information on the problem, saving me time and effort. This makes troubleshooting much easier, especially for someone who may not be as familiar with certain issues. Overall, I’m loving this lite version of the scanner! Its portability and ease of use make it a fantastic addition to my toolkit. Whether I’m at home or on the road, it’s a reliable companion that gets the job done without any hassle. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a reliable and compact diagnostic tool!

Awesome scanner
Great scanner for thw price. I am super happy with it. I do recommend updating it at least once a month otherwise it seems to loose its auto connect to the home wifi...but other then that, works beautifully...im happy with it, and the lifetime updates for a bidirectional scanner was my main reason for this machine... out of all the scanners I have purchased in the past, this has been the best one. I dont see me needing another for the stuff that I do

will not scan mazda 2025
Will not scan a 2025 mazda cx50 gt to put brakes in to service mode or recognize the vin for that matter, it’s a shame since the tool costed so much and i really only use this scanner for brake jobs and diy stuff
