Helio Smart Ring, Monitor Sleep/Heart, Water-Resistant, iOS/Android

I've been using the Amazfit Helio Ring (size 12) for a while now, and it has truly been a game-changer for my health and well-being. I initially got it to better understand my sleep, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The ring's sleep tracking is incredibly detailed and insightful. It goes beyond just telling me how long I slept, providing me with valuable information about my sleep quality, including deep, light, and REM sleep cycles. What's been most helpful for me is the data on things like hypopnea episodes. This is information I can now share directly with my doctor, which has made our conversations about my sleep health so much more productive and evidence-based. The data is presented in a clear and easy-to-understand way, making it simple to track trends and identify potential issues. But the Helio Ring is more than just a sleep tracker. It also helps me document my daily life in a way I didn't expect. The data it collects on my daily reactions and mood has been fascinating. By correlating my activity levels, sleep quality, and other biometric data with my mood, I'm starting to see patterns I never noticed before. This self-awareness is invaluable and has helped me make more conscious choices throughout the day to support both my physical and mental health. The ring itself is comfortable to wear 24/7. It's sleek and lightweight, so I barely notice it's there. The size 12 fits perfectly, and the battery life is excellent, so I don't have to worry about constantly charging it. Overall, the Amazfit Helio Ring has become an essential tool in my personal health journey. It provides me with objective data that empowers me to have better conversations with my doctor and to gain a deeper understanding of my own body and mind. It's mediocre. It does heart rate and sleep monitoring, but doesn't seem super accurate and the battery life is abysmal (2 days max until it's <20% which means it won't last through the next night). It's also blindingly bright at night, and the green heart rate monitor light stays on the entire night continuously which is obnoxious and distracting if you share a bed. I like the appearance, it's "low key" and looks better than other smart rings on the market. I wish the battery life was longer and they could do something about that heartrate light while monitoring sleep.

This along with the app provide a wealth of data. Battery life is good. The ring is comfortable. The only issue is that it frequently doesn’t detect or log the first two hours of sleep at night.

I purchased this ring knowing it would be the push I needed that would inspire and encourage me to get back into working out again. I watched several video's and researched what size I should order(without having to purchase the size kit). I did the strip of paper measuring technique several times and got slightly different measurements each attempt, but it was fairly close. Then I did the string/dental floss measuring technique, which I found the measurement to be mark on each time. I determined I was just slightly over a size 12 based on the inches listed on the ring size guide. I am 6ft3inches tall and weight 200, I would consider myself tall/thin/slightly athletic in build. My glove size would be a mens large, but due to finger length I wear and xl. After watching several online videos and reading articles with men claimed to be wearing different sizes of the available sizes (8, 10, & 12). I went ahead feeling hopeful and ordered the ring, knowing I could return it if it didn’t fit. The ring is said to work best on your index finger, but can also be worn on the middle finger and lastly the ring finger. Immediately upon arrival I opened the beautiful Amazfit Helio ring box and was delighted with the look, feel, and quality of the ring. I then tried to put the ring on my index finger on my right (dominant) hand, but it barely went past the knuckle and I didn’t feel comfortable trying to force it any further. I then did accomplish to slide the ring onto my index finger on my left hand, but had to remove it due to lack of blood flow and finger starting to turning red. Then I tried my middle finger on my right hand, the fit was near perfect/very good. I then tried my ring finger on my right hand, the fit was slightly loose and was very comfortable(my preferred style). I then put the ring onto my middle finger on my left hand and felt that was the best fit of all fingers, but the ring touched and banged against my wedding ring. That would not work for me, so I placed the Helio ring back onto my middle finger on my right hand. If there was a size 13 I would presume that would be my perfect fit for my index finger on my right hand, and I plan to purchase one of those once this ring gets to the end of its life and more ring sizes are available. I hope this helps you get an idea of what you may need to order. My recommendation is to use the string/floss technique since it easier to get a consistent accurate measurement that way. Update: Having to move the ring to my ring finger on right hand each night due to slight nightly swelling I think due to getting to hot. Definitely could have used a size 13. The usb-a to usb-c cord that came with the ring charger, charges much slower than when I use my own usb-c to usb-c cord.

Overall, this has been a frustrating experience. The don't make very many sizes so even the largest size (12) only fit my pinky, which is my smallest digit. I have all Amazfit products and wanted to add the ring to my lineup. When it tracks, it does seem to track pretty accurately. But unfortunately, ever since purchasing it, this ring almost never collects and syncs sleep/readiness data. It will sync readiness data for a few days and then just stops working for many weeks or more. I've tried resetting, repairing, reactivating, and nothing gets it to work. It also loses bluetooth connection even when right next to my phone. This includes every night. It requires being docked to revive the connection but loses it again when wearing. The battery life is often only one day's worth. The firmware through the Zepp app won't update to the latest reported firmware. I was very excited to support this company's jump into the health ring market but unfortunately it just feels like one of the biggest purchase mistakes I've made.

The ring, when working, appears to properly and sufficiently record your sleep. There are still daily notifications about 'upgrade' offers to buy into the subscription model. Bought the ring in August and by February it couldn't hold a charge and therefore couldn't stay synced to my device. Even before then I would rate it as a modestly cheaper version of the Oura ring. The app features are limited in terms of types of workouts - it only allows for running and cycling (indoor or outdoor). And when I tried to "trick" it once to record my volleyball workout, the app said it stopped recording part way due to my heart rate readings being too variable and it concluded I was no longer working out. Still wish it was much cheaper than Oura considering performance and options but I tried it! Would not buy again.

I bought many many rings prior to the amazfit Helio ring this is by far the best ring that I have purchased

I regret this purchase, it seemed like a good idea and I could use it with my watch for added date accuracy, which kind of works. But the battery life is poor, you have to charge the thing about everyday, or at least every other day. It doesn’t fit me that great and there aren’t any sizes available that would fit me better. The data accuracy of it by itself is questionable. When used with the watch it seems to be more accurate than either device on it’s own. So that’s one positive. The device does not offer enough functionality to be worth the money in my opinion.

Ive been wearing the size 12 amazfit helio ring on the ring finger and haven't experienced any issues. Wrenching on my motorcycle, doing lawn maintenance, and when working out I use the two finger central leather strap from Olympic lifting/crossfit so the ring doesnt get scratched. The app is easy to understand and the information given helps make informed decisions. I charge it every second day and treat it like a cellphone in that regard. Definitely worth the purchase.

Stopped working Sleep tracking seemed better than other activities

Mostly, this is a sleep tracker. Very accurate in measuring HRV and heart rate, but only during sleep. Spo2 measurement is not continuous. It tracks your oxygen only if you are still for 10 minutes. Limited workout options. If you are looking for a sleep tracker, this one will do. Battery capabilites only 2 to 3 days. Not an overall smart wearables.Decent
