The little mp3 player that could!
Been using this mp3 player nearly every day during weekdays at work for almost 3 months now and the little bugger still works great. I have couple of different sets of Bluetooth speakers I connect this mp3 player up to, depending on what work I'm doing. Noisy work means beefier speakers and less noise means smaller speakers will be fine. The higher the volume, the worse the battery life is for the speakers but also for this device. I tend to use this device at roughly 26 or 27 out of a max volume of 31 when using speakers and it'll run 7-8 hours without a hitch, though battery life itself is nearing 10% or so at that point. If you just use earbuds, I imagine battery life could be 18 to 20 hours no problem. In terms of Bluetooth connectivity, once connected everything stays connected. I routinely move more than 30 ft away from my speakers with thus device in my pocket and connectivity has never once dropped. Quite impressive in this respect. Charging takes less than two hours, typically around 1-1/2 hours (90 minutes) from where I drain it down to back to full charge. I have a dedicated wall charger for it, but even plugged into a usb port of a PC it still doesn't take very long to charge at all. And speaking of usb ports and connectivity, I've been able to detect it in Windows as well as in several flavors of Linux without any hiccups. Simple drag and drop files to a MUSIC folder and you're good to go. I use a 128gb microSD card in mine for my music and it plays tracks flawlessly. Even has a shuffle feature, though to be honest there's a lot to be desired for how shuffled the songs are -- repeats are far too frequent for my liking but your mileage may vary. I wish the power button was at the very top and not the third button down (first two are volume up and volume down), but thankfully tapping on the power button by mistake only turns your screen off instead of powering down the device. Minor annoyance at best when considering how reliable the device itself is. The touchscreen can be a touch unresponsive from time to time, but generally it does fine once it registers the taps -- device will 'hiccup' or stutter a little bit if it was turned off forcibly (holding power button for four seconds) and then immediately turned back on and synced via Bluetooth with the speaker you were playing out of. It remembers the Bluetooth speaker and what song you were playing but is a little slow to give you touchscreen functionality while the playback starts back up. Again, small inconvenience that is easily negated by waiting for just a couple extra seconds once the music is going. In terms of size and appearance, even with the silicone case on, it will fit inside of the coin pocket in my jeans. Very snug, but still fits there. This makes it very portable. Technically, the device has a built-in speaker but it sounds very tinny because it's a tiny speaker... and sounds horrible inside of clothing pockets. I use this mp3 player exclusively for mp3 playback, but it does have built-in support for mp4 amd and avi movies, as well as a FM radio (when you have wired headphones or wired earbuds plugged in). So, for what it is and what it does... it's a pretty neat gadget and definitely possesses value for the money. I'd also like to note that I flashed the device to its newest firmware update and it seems to have a better battery life from doing so and it reads microSD cards higher than the 64gb max read capacity it claims to have. Hope this helps!

Love this player!!!!
It’s pretty amazing what you get for the price. I have a lot of older iPods, classics, touches and shuffles. I love my iPods, but the classics are dated since they have no Bluetooth, and even the touches that have Bluetooth aren’t compatible with my new car stereo. Plus battery life on all of them is dwindling to nothing. So I was looking for something affordable (cheap) that wasn’t a piece of junk. I did a ton of research here, and read all the reviews. For the cost this was the one that seemed to have the best bang for your buck. And I was right, it’s got great usable features and it’s solidly built. Very impressive at this price point. They even throw in a silicone protective case, which I love. It’s small so the case makes it easier to grip and not drop. It has a touch screen, although small but I’d rather have a a small unit then a large screen. It has really good sound quality and 64g of internal storage plus it’s expandable with a SD card. It holds an huge library of music with just the 64g and if you have more you can use the SD card. It also pairs with my new Kenwood car stereo with current Bluetooth compatibility. So ok, right there these features already have the old iPods beat by a long shot. And for the price… if I drop it, lose it, it gets stolen, etc I’m not out a couple hundred bucks. At first I was frustrated it just would not pair with my car stereo. So I got another cheap one here and it had the same issues, and the second one I got was just plastic junk compared to this one! But eventually it paired, and while pairing it, I figured out a way to pair this one. Was really a matter of powering this unit and my car stereo on and off until it was recognized. Ya it was hard at first and probably more user error than anything since this car stereo is brand new to me, but once it found it, it’s locked in. I can power off the player and turn my truck off and when I turn it back on they pair automatically without having to do anything in a matter of seconds! I’m totally impressed with this. So much that right after I’m done writing this, I’m buying another one. Oh, and I contacted customer service for a few tips and they are excellent in response time and helpfulness.

Decent Product for the Price
I purchased 3 separate, low-cost MP-3 players recently that were all returned because the USB could not be seen by my computer. This one registered immediately. Pretty easy to transfer songs. Tested Bluetooth on a cheap portable speaker and the bluetooth earbuds as well as the earbuds that came with the product. It took a bit of time for the Bluetooth to find my devices initially but it did. The sound through the speakers and earbuds appears satisfactory from testing. I haven't gone for walk to test the sound for a longer period of time yet. The touchscreen works well but may be challenging for big fingers - because the device is very small. It's the trade-off in order to carry a very small device. I've only tested the music app so far because what I bought the player for. It shows 3 empty Playlists but there are no instructions how to add songs to the playlists. It will be cumbersome to add songs individually from the device to one of the three Playlists because the device is so small. I was kind of hoping the Playlists would have been displayed as folders on my computer to easily transfer music by category but that isn't the case. I also don't know if the Playlists can be renamed (from 1, 2 and 3) or if new Playlists can be added and named. Once you figure that out and have taken the time to manually add the songs to the Playlists as you'd like to listen to your music, it appears to be a solid and very small but reasonably priced MP-3 player for $30. I hope it holds up.

Looks good. Works poorly.
Thought this would be good. And at a good price. Started out good. But bought this so I could keep it in my pocket as I would do yardwork - raking leaves, mowing the yard. Used to have a little Clip Jam, I think that was the brand. Nothing fancy but worked for years very well except that eventually the micro hole got bent. So thought I'd try this one. First of all, very small type. Hard to read. Secondly, it will move to another song or audio file without reason. Not because anything was bumped. Simply plays something for a while and then goes to the next song. Totally without cause. And thirdly, the sound is not that great. OK for listening to people speak from MP3 talks. But music sound not as good as some of the cheaper things you can get at the retail stores. A real disappointment. Was going to send it back. And just get a refund. Didn't even want to bother with a replacement. But having it in my pocket created small scratches on the screens and figured they would not take it back. Waste of money. Going back to the old stuff that I had before.

Mechen 64 GB Player is outstanding
I bought this as a replacement for my old mP3 player that died. Pros: Well built solid player. Takes a 256 GB micro SD card (and maybe even larger) Good sound quality Bluetooth pairs easily Long battery life Cons: Touchscreen response a little slow (and hard to get accurate on small screen) Once a song is on the SD card can't reorder files When loading lots of songs, searching for song is a long process Earbuds supplied with player are of low quality Transferring files with supplied USB C is slow (maybe not USB A 3.0) Overall this is one of the best players I have owned and I highly recommend it. This review was unsolicited and I purchased this player for myself. Update 8-18-2024 I just formatted a 512 GB memory card. It works well with the player and can take a lot of music files. Update 8-29-2024 I have discovered that while this player can use a 512 GB memory card it does reduce the amount of time between charges by more than half to do so. Apparently the extra memory uses more power. Update 10-2-2024 With 128 GB card the charge lasts about 20 hours With 256 GB card the charge lasts about 8-10 hours With 512 GB charge the charge lasts about 4 hours. To re-alphabetize files go to music and have the player rescan the sd card

Inexpensive, but average
I bought this to use at the gym without the necessity of using a monthly streaming service from Apple since I've already purchased a large number of songs through iTunes. The process of downloading the song files is fairly simple, and the song name, artist, and some artwork is visible on the screen. It's small, but I didn't buy it to watch music videos. The player comes with a pair of wired ear buds, and the wire serves as the antennae to connect and listen to FM radio. However, the provided ear buds are very basic and not good quality sound. The player also has the ability to connect with bluetooth earbuds, and I had no problems connecting to several different types, both from Anker Soundcore and Shokz. I have two sets of Soundcore earbuds, A20i's which I love and use around the house, and I bought a pair of Sport X10's specifically for use at the gym because they wrap over the ear. The problem with this player, is that it just doesn't have the 'juice' to project sound without losing quality in anything other than a quiet environment. At home, the player sounds pretty decent, not great, with both sets of Soundcore earbuds, plus I have a pair of Soundcore Flare mini speakers and it sounds ok with those, too. In a noisy environment like a gym, they are sorely lacking. In order to hear the music clearly with earbuds, the volume has to be cranked almost to the max, and the distortion is horrible. The player comes with a very basic equalizer function, and it's ok for what you're paying and using the device for. If you're planning to use it at the gym or other noisy environment, look for another device.

Unbeatable value for the price!
I got this for my 8 and 10 year old kids so they can discover music when they want, without being on a phone or app. Good ole' fashioned musical exploration. If you can plug a USB device into your computer and you've got some music files to add, you're gonna love this. It's simple to operate. For 30$, it packs a lot of features. There's a maximum volume set option (again, great for kids.) The sound quality is honestly better than I expected. There's an equalizer in the device as well, so you can tweak the sound a little. I didn't realize it also has a radio function, and you can record little audio clips from the radio. Also there's a voice recorder option. The worst thing about it so far is the touch screen. It's dated and not as fast as what everyone is used to now. There's also bluetooth. It just is impressive, the amounts of little functions it has. It's definitely worth a try for the price. Also if my kids lose it, I won't be hurting too badly, unlike iPods back in the day that were hundreds of dollars. If I encounter issues with using it, I'll update the review. Sincerely, a millenial Mom who had rediscovered the joy of having an Mp3 player and NOT using Spotify.

Very good for its price point.
Had the player a few weeks now. I purchased it for its line-in recording facility that works very well. The FM radio is reasonable given the limitation of using the earplug cord as the aerial but it locks on to plenty of stations where I live. There’s several other apps like calendar, stopwatch, image viewer. They work but I have other options for them. The voice recorder is something I can see being useful. As an MP3 player it’s good. There are EQ controls too which work but they are bit fiddly to use. Battery life is good and I’ve had no problems with making a Bluetooth connection. The touch screen is responsive but the options are quite small and it’s easy to press another option by mistake. That’s because the player is tiny as I needed it to be. The one thing that lets it down is the audio quality of the earplugs. They’re OK but better ones make the audio a lot more immersive. Given the price point I’m not surprised at this. If you want a reasonably priced, small MP3 player this is worth a try. It does the job well and has other potentially useful features too. I can’t fault it for my needs although I have swapped the earphones to get a better sound.

Very good mp3 player
The price at time of purchase was £29.69. For less than £30, this is a crackerjack little device. I can't comment on battery life yet, but might update this review later. Pros: - Was fully charged and ready to go - Easy to navigate - Easy to connect to computer -- icon popped right up, with no searching or hassles - Easy to connect to bluetooth speaker - Easy to add music, just copy and paste - Fits in a shirt pocket - Includes double-end auxilliary cable, which I find convenient for plugging into speaker (no need to keep worrying about charge level) - Large capacity - Files transferred rather quickly - Plays m4a files! I just dragged and dropped multiple songs from my iTunes list into a folder, then loaded onto device! No need to convert to mp3! YAY! Actually, could probably just copy and paste straight onto device. - Shows album artwork - Can add a playlist folder to the main directory, then add that folder to a playlist - Pairs with car bluetooth (Caveat: I have two old cars. It worked in one but not the other.) - Has an equalizer - Has a sleep timer and a power off timer - Sound quality is decent through headphones or bluetooth speaker - The built-in speaker isn't bad for such a tiny thing. Handy for checking out songs, etc. - Radio sounds fantastic (used my own headphones). When you autotune, some of the stations it seems to tune are static, but mostly they are clear. And it will save 30 stations! It's a bit confusing when saving a station and then going back to the player. That will make sense when you try it. And I had to tap a few things to figure out how to turn the radio off. But the radio is great. This could be really useful when camping or on a run, etc. - Great for having music separate from phone. When I'm playing music, I don't want phone calls coming through. - Great price Cons: - Might not connect to your car - Text/menus very small. I have to use magniflying glasses to read it. But this is a tiny device, so that's sort of a given. - On some things, you have to click around a bit to get the function to do what you want. Maybe I'm just not doing it right - No Home button. You have to keep tapping the Back button to get to the main screen. - When playing a song, then going to another screen, music can't be stopped from the other screen. Like with going home, you have to keep tapping back, then go into menu and select Now Playing in order to turn off music. But this is only relevant when messing around with the player. Not really an issue once you hit play and leave it alone. - Screen turns off very quickly (can set to 10, 20, or 30 seconds or stay on constantly). When it turns off, you have to touch the power button and then swipe up. It's only two steps, but it's annoying. - Has only 3 playlists and, as far as I can tell, you can't rename them. However, a work-around is to upload a folder with a batch of songs, then on main screen, open Folders and start playing the songs. When that batch is done, it won't move on to the next folder or playlists, it will just repeat the folder you're in, but at least you can add more playlists. - Built-in speaker is on back, so it gets muffled when the device is laying down. Not sure how you'd make it stand up. Not really relevant, as most people will use headphones or bluetooth speaker. - I ordered the black version, and the description photo shows a black case/protector, but what I received was an ugly grey one. Summary: Overall, for 30 quid, you can't go wrong. Someone stole my iPhone and I can't afford to buy another one. Actually, I'm never going to buy another iPhone again. It's ridiculous money for something so easily lost. And my iPod recently died (which is why I was using my iPhone as a music player). Ohhh, the agony! I miss the iPod so much! WHY were they discontinued??? I digress. I'm happy with this little player as a replacement for the iPod and iPhone. It can be a little niggly trying to figure it out, and some things aren't very intuitive (like setting the date), but that's sort of fun, isn't it? Playing around with a new toy and getting it to work. It's kind of a throw-back. Feels a bit 15-years-ago, but, as a middle-aged person pining for the old days, I'm ok with that. In conclusion, I didn't expect much, especially for a cheap electronic device, but, given that I couldn't afford anything more right now, I didn't have a lot of choice. As it turns out, I'm pleased as punch.
