I bought this one to go with my 2TB Sandisk SSD that I wasn't using. When it came in, I was dismayed that it was slightly used and missing USB cable, thermal pads, and copper shim. But when I opened the housing, there is a 1TB 990 PRO already installed. My guess was the previous customer was using it for a bit then returned it for a measly $40 refund and forgot to remove the $400 stick. SO far it's all working, the fan runs and I can barely hear it. It does keep the drive cooler than other, similar Maiwo model without the fan. Blackmagic speed check got me at just a bit over 1,000 mb/sec via USB4, and Crystal Disk Mark was showing I can get about 700 to 750 sustained on read speed. A long H2Testw check showed the drive is genuine and not once did I lose connection or had speed throttled due to heat. Normally Id rate this one lower due to getting used one but a free fast1TB drive makes this a 5-star.

Very happy with this NVME Enclosure. Depending on what NVME drive is being used I have seen Read and Write speeds past 7000mbs. Internal fan is quiet I can not hear it. Drive does end making some heat after a long file transfer but performance does not decrease. I do wish the cable it came with was longer and the only issue I had was the aluminum shim it came with was useless when trying to cool the NVME and needs some thermal paste between the lid and metal shim otherwise heat transfer is poor. plus adding thermal paste not only helps drastically with cooling the drive it also keeps the shim stuck to cover. I just ended up using a zip tie to hold a small 40mm fan on the front to cool drive. Soldered up a USB cable to power the fan with 5 volts off PC

I've only had this for a few days and so far so good. It comes with everything except for a 40gbps cable, at least mine didn't. You'll need to get a new cable to get the right performance. It's a little noisy because of the fan but I don't notice it unless it's quiet. I paired it up with the wd_sn850x and yeah it's fast. Before I replaced the cable it took about 90sec to transfer a 5gb file now it only takes 5sec for a 10gb file with the correct cable. I would've rated this device 5 star if it had come with the correct cable. I will update if anything happens or the performance starts to lack.

This enclosure performs as expected. I bought it to replace a TB3 enclosure that had some compatibility issues with an Asus laptop with AMD CPU and it prevented a previously installed Ubuntu (24.04 LTE) from booting. The MAIWO enclosure with its Asmedia chip set works really well, problem resolved.

Fan died after six week. makes horrible sound and causes overheating.

Great external enclosure, super fast, bus-powered, and has its own fan. After seeing the Black Friday deal put this within reach, I couldn’t resist having the ability to use external drives as quickly as my internals. I’m done with spinning drives, this is what we’ve been waiting for.

Nice solid enclosure with good heat relief.

So far this is working great on my M2 Mac mini. Performance is great with 3 GB/sec (24 Gbps) read and write speeds using my 1TB ADATA premium SSD. The fan is a bit noisy especially when placing it directly on the desk. The desk seems to amplify the fan vibration sounds but adding small felt furniture pads reduced to just a background fan hum. Update after a few days. Drive continues to be reliable with zero disconnects or problems with my Mac. However, I’m dropping one star as the fan noise is annoying when the rest of my system is completely quiet.

It is super loud (like I have a tiny jet doing laps on my desk) and fan is on all the time. I have to wear noise cancelling earphones when working and I can still hear it loud. I am replacing it. Sorry for the review, I’m just being honest so others are aware before buying.

Fonctionne bien, la plaque s’enlève un peu trop facilement à mon goût et la fan est bruyante. Ça fait la job pour le prix
