Better than the 600 count
Between my lake house, my primary house, and various dorm rooms, I have purchased sheets from this company at least 15 times over the past few years. Though it seems as if the quality isn't quite what it was back in 2018-2020, I am still happy with the 400 thread count sheets recently purchased from California Design Den. That said, I initially thought I would splurge and get the 600 thread count for my new king sized bed. I compared them head to head with the 680 thread count from Costco. However, the 600 thread count sheets from California Design Den felt and sounded like paper, and I quickly realized they weren't up to par. I returned them and thought I'd give the company one last shot by purchasing the 400 thread count sheets, and I was pleasantly surprised. They were just as soft as the higher thread count sheets from Costco and, based on experience, I know the color will hold up better. (The white sheets from Costco seem to stain from body and hair oils despite frequent washing.) The sizing is also better than the sheets from Costco (the length is really off on the Kirkland brand). Again, these don't feel quite as soft as sheets purchased in the past from California Design Den, I still recommend this brand. Sheets are 100% cotton (so much cooler than microfiber!) and will wrinkle if left in the dryer too long (like anything else), but they get softer with multiple washings and seem to hold up pretty well. As someone who could afford to buy expensive sheets, I'm sticking with these for now!

My initial reaction is wow!!!
I just got these in the mail, and I wanted to review my initial reaction to these sheets. This is a long review, but I feel it necessary, so grab a snack and let's go! Pictures are attached for your viewing pleasure!I went back and forth for over an hour, reading reviews and trying to decide if I wanted to give these sheets a shot or not. I almost didn't buy them 1. Because of all the terrible reviews, and 2. Because of the price. $35 for a 100% cotton sheets would make anyone that knows sheets question why. When companies are advertising their 100% cotton sheets for $300 a set, you tend to be skeptical at the $30-$50 price point. Now I'm sure those $300 sheets are amazing, but crap that's a lot of money for sheets! Plus I feel a lot of the time you're paying more for the name, than the product itself. But, the reviews on this product held the most weight in my indecisiveness. Most of the bad reviews I read were from years ago (2016), so I weeded through them until I found more recent reviews (2019). The most recent reviews were promising, they were definitely better than the older ones.About the sheets themselves... When I opened the shipping box I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. They are protected and secured in a brightly colored cardboard box, with all the company's certifications clearly stated. The sheets themselves are neatly wrapped in tissue paper. I opened the tissue paper, and immediately felt the sheets. Many reviews I read stated they felt as if they were sleeping on sandpaper. I tend to take those reviews with a grain of salt because microfiber is super soft, and it dominates in the sheets/textiles industry now. We have been conditioned to like it. My issues with microfiber sheets are: they tend not to last very long, they stain easily, they don't breathe pwell, and my biggest issue... they're made of synthetic materials like plastic and/or wood pulp. Straight face emoji. Microfiber is soft, more like a suede, it's lightweight, doesn't wrinkle or shrink, and it's reasonably priced. Awesome! All my sheets up until this point have been microfiber. Cotton on the other hand is more crisp, it breathes, stands the test of time and use, and its all natural (great for those with allergies). Cotton sheets crinkle. You can audibly hear the difference between it and microfiber. We always had cotton sheets growing up, and I missed the crisp, cool feel when I'd slip into bed. Though they aren't as "soft" as microfiber, they absolutely do not feel like sandpaper. My husband actually thought they were a little rough as well, but again, he's been sleeping on microfiber his entire adult life. #conditioned. Where I think these sheets were very soft right out of the box, hubby thought they weren't, as others will too. "Soft" is a perception. Everyone has a different definition of what soft is. So I try to be objective about it when making a decision based on reviews. Imo cotton evolves. Think of it like a 100% cotton tshirt. It's stiff and rough when it's brand new, but gets better and softer as it's worn and washed. Cotton also requires more care than other materials. Cotton wrinkles easily, just like a tshirt, and it requires more care than synthetic materials. As long as you follow the care instructions though, they should soften, and hold up well. When it comes to breathing... microfiber does not in my experience. Even though it is moisture wicking, it seems to trap body heat. My husband is an extremely hot sleeper. He runs hot in general. He'll hang one of his feet off the bed while sleeping to help regulate his body temperature because he overheats in the microfiber sheets. Cotton will help in this aspect. On we go...After feeling the sheets, I then inspected the hems. There were a few reviews saying the sewing was terrible, and they had several loose threads. All edges are hemmed very well, and there's not one loose thread. Not one, and I looked. The sewing is uniform throughout the sheets and pillow cases. The elastic in the fitted sheet is thick, and the tags inside telling you direction is incredibly helpful. I am thoroughly impressed with these sheets so far. They're 100% cotton sheets for a very reasonable price. I'm going to throw them in the washer right now (hello gentle cycle that I only use for my unmentionables), and we'll see how they hold up over time. Even if they don't last that long, at this price, it's not that big of a deal. I ordered white in queen size. For those thinking about buying color and the reviews pertaining to color, here's what I'm thinking... these may not be color fast, as is the case with other things 100% cotton. For those reviews about spots on their white sheets, honestly those could be burn spots from the dryer. You can burn cotton with your dryer. Who knew and has totally done that? Hi, me! If you're not wanting to put a lot of time into your sheets, then microfiber will be your best bet. But I encourage everyone to give cotton a try. Cotton was the industry standard years ago, but we've moved away from that in favor of synthetic materials. Try to stay open minded about it, and remember we're human. We can adapt to anything! What's rough to you today, won't necessarily be rough to you in the future 😉 Happy Z's Y'all! The product is exactly as described, and arrived in the time stated.

Very nice!
I got these these other day, washed them today and just pulled them out of the dryer. The fabric is very nice and soft; it is a little wrinkled but not "frumpy" wrinkled. I know all about the chemicals used for "perm press." I'll take the slight wrinkles. AND, Best Of All, the pillow cases are even, as in a "perfect rectangle." The last pillow cases I bought from another vendor were off by 1" on the side seam. I'm looking at this vendor's sheets now.Don't know about stain resistance.

Every bit as nice as the ones I paid over $200 for!
These sheets are really lovely. I first bought them for our guest bed, then decided to try for our split king. When we bought new mattresses, they are very thick! I was afraid these sheets would pull up after sleeping on them, but they don't. They are generously sized. I have only washed them once, after arriving, so I can't speak to how well they hold up over time. There is a nice sheen to these that I hope remains, but again time will tell. I definitely recommend these and would buy them again in a heartbeat. They are soft and cool.

soft is a subjective thing
First, these sheets are really nice for the price range and color options. I ordered two queen sets in white and gray. Out of the box they are not soft and you need to wash them. Afterwards they are softer but imo still not what I would call soft as in oooo so soft. But they feel really nice and the sateen is nice to slip around under the covers, and they breath super nice and help you keep cool. I'm sure they will continue to get softer w more wash cycles. I am pleased overall and for the price range, ease of shopping on the Zon you can't beat these. The quality is good, especially the mattress sheet and stitching the elastic.

Worth the time searching for them, so I bought another set.
Good quality cotton sheeting and although I couldn't find percale, these sateen sheets are not too shiny. The 400 thread count is high enough for a durable, smooth feel, but low enough to keep them wrinkle resistant after sitting hours in a dryer. All these characteristics were not easy to find in one set of sheets, so I bought an extra set for my new king size bed, just in case microfiber or poly-cotton, or sets that don't state the thread count are all that's left in a moderate price range in a few years.

Calidad y suavidad
Me encantaron estas sábanas, suaves y agradables al tacto. El precio está un poco elevado pero valen la pena. Es la segunda vez que las compro y tienen muy buena calidad. Definitivamente las volvería a comprar.
