I was not sure about this but since I received it and assembled it I am happy so far with it.Communication with the seller was good as was Packaging and shipping time. Make sure you measure in 3 spots each way.Assembly was straight forward, lay it flat and assemble the 4 rails and drive 4 screws. From there, test the device. After that simply hold it where you want it (2 person job), mark it and drill the holes, insert the Molly's, replace the shade and 4 more screws and its installed.I got the all white and it looks good and nice gloss white material finish (looks like aluminum) . A little caulking to do, but it blocks most light and reduces solar heat drastically in my bathroom. See my short video.The remote looks good and works good, I wish I could reverse the button order due to the way I installed the blind, not a big deal breaker.Only thing left to do is hook it up to my Alexa.

I was a little skeptical at first that this would work but man it is amazing. I would definitely suggest using the video that is on YouTube to help put it together but other than that it fit perfectly and it is truly a blackout blind. Even after I sent the measurement when I customized it the team reached out to double check before they put it into production. Their communication is top notch!I will definitely be buying more for my regular windows. Great Job Zshine team.

I have a large, custom sized skylight window in my office. I needed blinds that would fit the window, block out the light and was easy to control because it would be difficult to reach. I purchase blinds from zShine. They were very thorough and professional a) on ensuring that I have the right measurements, they sent a separate email very quickly after the order to confirm my size request on purchase, b) I received the blinds within a week of ordering, c) It took about 90 mins to install (remember it was big and required two people but its more than doable) and lastly d) its genuinely really nice (see photo). The overall quality is good, the blind material is good, and it just works (no hassle). I would buy again if I needed custom blinds, its worth the money knowing it will be up there for years.

This is my second Z-SHINE purchase. Overall, I'm reasonably satisfied with the value, but living in the Bay Area where prices are outrageously, painfully expensive (basically daylight robbery). I can understand if this product feels expensive at other parts of the country.The instructions are pretty poor, but if you're a DIYer, you'll figure it out without too much trouble (though clearer labeling, like marking inside vs. outside faces, would be a huge help).I bought the battery-powered version, which has separate compartments on opposite sides (one for the motor, one for the battery/controller). A few design flaws in both areas definitely need improvement:(1) Motor Compartment Wire Friction: The drive shaft and internal wiring share the same narrow space with zero shielding. As a result, the spinning shaft constantly grinds against the wires. Over time, I'm concerned this will strip the insulation and pose a electrical/fire hazard.(2) Loose Battery & Rotating Boot: The battery isn't secured in place and slides around, pushing wires down into the rotating boot connector. Because this boot spins during operation, it causes extra wear on the wiring and reduces the product's lifespan.(3) Obstructed Screw Holes: On the screw-in version, the connecting wire between the battery and motor runs directly across one of the four mounting screw holes. Be careful not to puncture or pinch the wire when driving screws.(4) Light Gaps: As noted in the product Q&A, expect slight gaps along the edges. If you want a true 100% blackout, plan to add some foam seal or HVAC tape along the sides.(5) Remote Compatibility: The remote included with this unit is not backward-compatible with older Z-SHINE shades, so keep that in mind if you were hoping to control multiple generations with one remote. 🙃

Great customer service! Does a great job of blocking out light so we can sleep in when the sun come up at 4:30 a.m. during the summer! Our application was a skylight in a cathedral ceiling bedroom. During assembly I inadvertently had stopped the travel and it was stuck in a limited travel mode so it was only moving a few inches. After contacting the vendor through the Amazon links they sent a video to again physically stop the travel which reset the travel limits. Not sure I can upload that video but they responded within 24 hours and final install went smooth. We did not have easy access to 120V power in the attic so we ordered the DC version with a solar panel. So far so good with closing at night and opening in the morning. Looks great and has quiet operation. The photo is on a cloudy day about 1/2 open.It was an install 14' in the air so I would strongly suggest making sure it work as it should on the table before lifting it into place!

Directions are pathetic, screws do not fit, shades don’t align. Total junk!
