Poor seal design
A slip-on rubber ring cannot be used to seal against threads. I know this as a subsea tooling design engineer, but I figured I would install it as designed anyway. Sure enough, it leaked between the seal and the threads. The threads should not have been cut into the seal area. That area should be smooth. I remedied this by putting silicone caulk in the threads of the seal area .... where threads should not be. Great design and finishing otherwise, but it gets 3.5 stars for this engineering oversight.

Excellent pop up drain.
These were excellent quality. Seems like quality chrome and the pop up mechanism is brass. I have had issues with plastic.Note you simply MUST Teflon tape the threads at the bottom. And that where the nut will sit. I did a few inches lol. I also added thin putty lines at the sink bottom and top and bottom of the tail piece that goes to the trap but that may have been overkill.

Easy Install, Just Don’t Follow The Directions :)
The media could not be loaded. This is beautiful and was very easy to install. Thankfully I read the reviews BEFORE I installed it.The instructions say to use the top gasket (the one that goes underneath the sink) one way but don’t do it that way. Flip it over, opposite of the instructions.Due to a lot of complaints in the reviews about leaking I may have gone a little overkill on installation but I didn’t want to have to reinstall it. I used plumbers tape on all of the threads, used silicone caulking between the top piece and the sink bowl, and then used plumbers putty between the previously referenced “upside down” gasket and the bottom of the sink bowl. No leaks!!Great product for the price and looks absolutely beautiful 🤩

Install bottom washer correctly
I have installed five of there and unfortunately not at the same time. Seems, like I keep forgetting that the images of the product shown are incorrect. The seal washer on the bottom of the sink is shown upside down. Look at images of other drain products and all have the rounded side up against the sink bottom. If you install the drain as pictured it will most likely leak as the sink bottom will probably not allow the raised part of the washer to fit inside the sink. Just turn it over and tighten the nut an the washer will flatten and fill the void between sink and drain with no leaks. If you are still concerned a use plumbers putty on the top and bottom of sink. An experienced plumber advised me that putty would save him a trip back to a job even if the drain was putty-less. Other than the incorrect documentation the drain looks great and functions perfectly, just install it correctly.

A great item! Ignore the bad reviews from people that don't understand how to install it.
I installed this 9 months ago. No leaks, no rusting of any kind. It looks perfect in our white Nantucket basin sink.because of the shape of the sink at the drain opening, I had to use GE White Silicone sealer between the sink and this unit, and carefully wiped the sealer and when it dried, it looked and still looks perfect! I like the fact that HAIR DOES NOT seem to build up in this unit.

Good Quality, Good Price, Easy To Install
This is my second one I've purchased. In the warm months, there is a significant build-up of sludge in the bathroom sink from washing hands, brushing teeth, etc. Combining warm temperatures with this bacteria results in a sludgy mess inside the drain and tailpiece. Of course, you can take it all apart and clean it very well, but I choose to tear out the pop-up drain and plastic piping and just install all new. THis usually lasts 2-3 or more years, and for $25 or so, I just replace it all.

Big luxury style for tiny sink, Love It
For over 40+ years we've had a quaint 12" sink in a small bathroom. The house was built in the 1930s... and due to space constraints, not much room for improving this small tiny functional bathroom. The sink may actually be from the original build. After decades of having to use a plug to stopper this drain... I wanted a little more luxury touch for it. Thought i would give this a try. Aside from having to make the hole a little more perfect round from rust accumulation, the drain fit. I thought to use plumbers putty to seat the top in the basin; add a 1-1/4 drain extension and it was a success. it's a little luxury, offering a big smile now that I do not need to worry about knocking the old stopper and chain loose. Yep, big smiles.!! ;-)

Nice Upgrade To Our Sinks
These pop-up drains were amazingly simple to put in. After we changed out our countertops and our sinks to a more modern version I was concerned about getting something that would look as good. This fit the bill perfectly. They were easy to install and I used Teflon paste rather than Teflon tape around the threads. I made sure that I put the paste on the threads where the nut actually contacts the drain pipe (tail piece). It’s best to dry fit the drain first to get an idea of where the sealant must go. And then I just needed a couple of reducer gaskets to go from the 1 1/4” inch diameter up to the 1 1/2” diameter of my original drain lines. I like not having the mechanism to open the drain hanging off the back. It really cleans up the countertop.

It took a couple of tries, but I got it!
The product looks great, but the silicone gasket supplied, is not very effective (by itself) to form a proper seal under the sink. I tried several times to install the drain, but at every attempt, it had a slow, but persistent drip, which really annoyed me!Here is how I solved the problem:Make sure you use Teflon tape for both the main thread and the lower thread. Do NOT skip this step... it is imperative. Secondly, depending on your sink, you may need to get an additional rubber gasket ($3.00 and any hardware store), to fit between the silicone gasket and the sink, in order to get a proper seal.Once you do those 2 things, everything works great.

Saved me big time and money! This fits perfectly
I was quite embarrassed when my drain stopper did not pop up. It was stuck! I watched many YouTube videos and googled & tried a few tips, but nothing helped. 5 days passed. :(I measured my existing stopper size and ordered this one with some doubt. The stopper top size didn't match exactly, but hole size was somewhat matched, so hoped it would work. Man, when I received the package. I was surprised by its high quality at this low price. I was thinking of replacing whole thing, but thought "can I just change spring part?". Man, it worked! I attached pictures where you can see golden head. You can rotate counter clockwise to remove and the opposite to install. Hope this helps who might have the same problem.

So it’s been just over six months since installation.
I’ll let the photo speak for itself. Every day usage, once a week cleaning… about a week ago some scratches appeared alerting me that it was painted black and not an actual black product. Since the scratches appeared… well, you can see how fast it’s gone down hill since.

WIsh I had read the reviews first
As stated, wish I had read the reviews first. Like lots of others I have been battling to make these (bought 2) not leak. Constant dribble from underneath. After reading reviews, I have combined a few of the 'fixes'. I used plumbers putty on the top side, turned the bottom washer/gasket the other way around and also used a profuse amount of plumbers tape on the threads. I 'think' I have it sorted now, but then I thought the same a couple days ago. If not, they will be returned. Huge pain in the backside.

Workmanship and feel
Giving it four stars because of the workmanship and feel of the product, however there might be a design flaw, maybe it’s my sink or the newer design does not compensate for the depth of the overflow whipping holes. I have installed a lot of drain sinks but never had any issues like this one with one particular sink. Dripping dripping water from the sink drain due to the higher holes on drain, and the washer with catch basin doesn't help! Installed the old cheap plastic one and no drip, maybe I’ll be returning them!!
