Buy this iron and halve your ironing time!! Ignore the people who can't read instructions!
My wife had the previous version of this DA70 Bosch iron, which we bought from Argos. Unfortunately, that one gave up the ghost after 18months, and we used the previous Tefal we owned until that finally died the other day. This is a vast improvement on the previous model and a massive step up over the Tefal lately in use.The problems that many have stated on here regarding dripping, are not caused by a faulty product, but the usual operator error. It's always best to read instructions. My ex-wife refused to read instructions, saying that "they're for people who don't know". Consequently, like others on here who think they know better than the manufacturer, they deserve the results they get. The manual clearly states that you need to wait until the red light has stopped flashing. When the light is glowing solid red, it means the iron is hot enough to produce steam. This is the cause of the drips, water has to be heated to 100degC to produce steam! Since the iron has a power down mode, you have to exercise a little patience and wait for the light to go solid. The shot of steam function is especially sensitive to not following instructions. Here, it clearly states that you must wait at least 5 seconds between presses of the steam button. Again, it's to do with heating the water. If you can imagine that a chamber of water is heated into stem and then released when you press the button. The chamber needs to be refilled and then heated up again. This obviously takes 5 seconds, hence why you are told to wait 5 seconds. If you can manage to follow simple instructions, you are able to seriously reduce your ironing time and gain better results without forking out on a stem generator. £75 isn't cheap, however, if you like to get the ironing done as quickly as possible, with no need to change settings and sort washing, plus get great results, this is a great iron.I can iron too, before anyone thinks I'm chauvinistic, and I had first go of it. I liked the long (3m) cable and the large contact area. I ironed a few shirts and the results I got were excellent on my heavy cotton work shirts and a few synthetic sports shirts. The water tank despite being over 300ml, does need regular filling, especially if you use the steam shot. However, considering the massive increase in speed and output quality it's a small price to pay.

nice iron
I bought this iron simply because had bosch before, read some reviews & they were mixed, anyway i have no problems. It feels lighter than my old one, looks nice(no-one will see it only me).I fill the tank with an old plastic jug that i have used for years, especially for irons. Not really difficult just tilt the iron a bit. I ironed 24 mens tshirts,8 ladies & two pairs of shorts on 2& half tanks of water. Full steam. It seems to get creases out easily. The one thing i noticed was the cable bit that's joined to the iron does touch your arm when ironing but it wasn't a problem & after a while i didn't notice.

Design fault. Otherwise an excellent iron.
The iron works very well and is easy to use giving excellent results. However the plastic catch on the water reservoir is very flimsy and easy to break. For such an expensive iron this is a serious design fault.

A Great Steam Iron, Especially for the Small, but Regular Ironing Jobs
We have been using the larger Bosch steam generator irons for many years now and they have always proved to be extremely reliable. Consequently we chose this particular model to complement the high workload ironing regime (of the steam generator iron) , when our (adult) children wish to iron the occasional garment, when there is less requirement to use a full tank of water. The manner in which the latest models have evolved suits my family's purposes very well indeed and was priced at a most cost-effective level.

Seamless
I bought this for my parents who questioned why they needed a new iron. They were both amazed at the levels of steam and how quick and effective it is. As with most other irons of a similar specification the water reservoir needs a regular top-up on full steam but if the water capacity was increased the iron would be too heavy. It’s a good weight, not too heavy and anyone with slight arthritis or dexterity issues should have no problem using it. There’s a long cord allowing plenty of room for manoeuvre and a clip helps to keep it all neatly under control when not in use. The soleplate glides over any fabric and there’s enough precision at the apex to get into tricky little corners. The highest steam setting makes light work of heavy denim and linens. Tip: check whether there’s a discounted option available in the Amazon ‘open box’ store.

Good iron.
My wife insisted on this particular iron as she had done her own research, and as she does the majority of our ironing (I do help sometimes but I'm "too slow"), I bought it. She had been moaning about our old Phillips one for a while, which to be fair was quite old. As that one had been a good servant I wanted to stick to the same brand but I can only say that she hasn't moaned about this iron once, so far. I have used it myself to iron some trousers and even managed to get a good result in quite a quick time so I was impressed.

Performs well as an iron with a few design issues
Replacing a 10 year iron I was surprised by how much better this iron performed. The sole plate really does glide over your clothes and it produces a lot more steam even on the lower setting. I also do not find the grip too small as some others have suggested. However, it is easy to move the temperature dial when you pick it up, there is no on/off light so you can forget that it’s on and it is almost impossible to see the fill level. I also felt that this may have been a shop return as it lacked the protective film on the base that the instruction suggested and the plastic fill jug was missing. Overall as an iron I’m very satisfied but not sure about the supplier.

Perfect
It works well, it's light, it's easy to use and is still going strong after years of use.
