Over the years I’ve tried Withings, Fitbit, the Google Pixel Watch, and various cheaper off-brand “smart” watches. While some of them do impressive things, I’ve consistently been disappointed — mainly due to poor battery life, awkward small screens for basic tasks, and constant notifications that become more annoying than useful (assuming the battery hasn’t died first). This time, I wanted something simple and unassuming. Something that tracked my steps, sleep, and fitness metrics properly. No mandatory monthly subscription. No distraction on my wrist. Just useful insight. I’d been looking at smart rings for a while. Oura was the obvious comparison — it looks great — but the ongoing subscription cost and the patent disputes in the US put me off. Then I discovered Ultrahuman. Low barrier to entry The ring sizing kit cost me 10p (or I could have 3D printed one using files from their website). That immediately impressed me. By comparison, Oura charges around £10 for their sizing kit and only refunds it if you go on to buy the ring. Ultrahuman made the entry point incredibly accessible. The reviews were strong, battery life looked reasonable (4–6 days), and the app screenshots looked genuinely useful. Setup & first impressions I purchased the Ring AIR (size 11, brushed titanium) along with the Ultrahuman Ring Voyager charger for faster charging. Everything arrived promptly, and I was set up within minutes. The ring immediately told me it would take around 14 days to fully calibrate to my baseline metrics, but useful data started appearing within the first hour — even in “Chill Mode” (a battery optimisation mode that extends life further). For peace of mind, I also opted for Ultrahuman X (~£50 for 2 years), which covers accidental loss/damage. I know I specifically didn’t want a subscription model, but for an expensive device like this, that felt reasonable and optional. Battery life & comfort The ring is extremely comfortable — I often forget I’m wearing it. Battery life is around 4 days for me, and likely could stretch further. Charging with the Voyager dock is quick and painless — comfortably back to full within two hours. The app experience The app is genuinely impressive — and completely free. There’s a lot of data, which can feel slightly overwhelming at first, but Ultrahuman does an excellent job explaining what each metric means. The longer you use it, the more insightful the reporting becomes (weekly summaries are particularly useful). The app also includes “PowerPlugs” — optional add-ons that extend functionality. Many are free (e.g. Caffeine Window), while some are paid. For example, UltraSync for Tesla provides things like Drive Readiness Score and Drive Stress tracking. I was initially wary that this might be the “hidden subscription model” — but there are far more free PowerPlugs than paid ones, and the core functionality is more than sufficient for most users. It feels optional rather than restrictive, which is the right balance. There are also links within the app to Ultrahuman’s other products (Metabolism, Home, Vision). I was slightly concerned these might feel like constant upsells, but they’re unobtrusive. No annoying ads, no aggressive prompts — and if you owned those products, having everything within one app would actually be preferable to juggling multiple apps. Overall I’m genuinely impressed with the Ultrahuman Ring AIR. It’s comfortable, provides meaningful and well-presented insights, has solid battery life, and - importantly - doesn’t lock core functionality behind a mandatory subscription. It does exactly what I wanted: simple, smart health tracking without the noise. Highly recommended. Five stars from me.

When it worked, it was great, but the battery performance falls off very quickly, and one it does, support is frustrating and tedious. My first one ran fine for about 6 months, and then dropped from 4-5 days of battery life to needing to be charged twice a day in the space of about 6 weeks. The only support was accessible through the app, but insisted on repeated updates of firmware and factory resets with the instruction to "monitor it for 48 hours and come back to us" - this process ran for weeks before I lost my patience and insisted on a replacement. The replacement similarly dropped off in battery performance (and also suffered connection issues, regularly losing all data for several days at a time). Support was once again tedious and frustrating, and an update to the app format has made the support chat less straightforward to access. I'm now told (after multiple factory resets etc) that I'm out of my warranty period, and not elegible for a replacement - despite the app's support tool telling me that I'm eligible for a replacement - although as a goodwill gesture they are prepared to send me a certified refurbished ring. I haven't yet decided whether to accept, as I have already swapped to using an arm-worn tracker instead. The app isn't as slick and the insights aren't as helpful, but at least it stays charged for over a week and retains its connection to the app.

I really like my Ultrahuman Ring Air, love the data it collects and shows, I love the fact you get stacks of data and don’t need to subscribe to an app. Kudos to them. Also kudos for their support team and rapid response via WhatsApp chat. I wear it everyday, after nine months the resin on the inner ring started peeling, then it wouldn’t charge, no worries they sent me a new one with no quibble (luckily I still had proof of purchase!, screenshot of Amazon purchase history!) a couple of niggles though. Ring size of actual ring is definitely different to the plastic sizing ring, so I wear it on my middle finger not my intended forefinger, no biggie really. I’ve never had anywhere near 6 days battery life, maybe four days at best and only then when on low power mode. For the warranty exchange they asked me if I had been scuba diving, why ask that(?), the blurb says it’s good to 100m!, no PADI AOW diver gets anywhere near that depth, anyways I said no only sea swimming and snorkelling and I got my exchange approved. I highly recommend this gadget, saves wearing a smart Watch or a Fit-bit type gadget. Everyday use including sailing in all weathers, swimming in the sea (and ‘cough’, maybe some scuba diving 😉) it lasted nine months, like I said it was exchanged no charge no quibble but longevity may be an issue as these things are not cheap if I had to repurchase (original was a milestone birthday gift!).

As it arrived I was impressed with it. Loved the grey Matt colour , it is so light and after few days it's like a part of your body. Battery lasted 6 days. Lovely look and form . Less steps than on my Samsung watch ,sometimes much to few (Samsung showing 16 000 while ring 12000 only wearing the same time). But it's like dead now .realised I had to daily charge it and after few hours it's gone. Can't get replacement due to third part sale policy and can get refund now. Very disappointed

First of all, get the sizing kit and spend at least a couple of days wearing the ring on your chosen finger. I went for the titanium finish, but it is is up to your preference. I have been blown away by the information that is available from the ring on the app. The app is worth a great deal in its self, you get much more than readings you get advice and quality tips. The more you wear the ultra human the accuracy increases. If like me you Wonder if it is worth it, you will not regret buying it. The fit is Identical to the sizing kit. Strava and Apple health & many other apps are compatible and the performance is second to none. A ring you can wear 24 hours a day and forget about, just put on charge every 2nd or 3rd shower and it’s going keep going. It even knows if I take a nap. My life has been improved by this product and the information provided in a very simple way that opens up into a very detailed explanation and plan.

I wanted to share my honest experience with the Ultrahuman Ring Air after owning it for an extended period. At first, I was genuinely excited. The ring is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and the concept behind it is strong. However, over time, reliability became a concern. I experienced multiple periods where the ring failed to track data properly, resulting in gaps across key metrics. This wasn’t a one-off issue, but something that happened more than once over the lifespan of the product. For a device positioned around continuous health tracking, consistency is critical, and this is where it fell short for me. To their credit, customer support did respond and offered a replacement. However, the solution provided was a refurbished (“like new”) unit rather than a brand new replacement, which didn’t feel aligned with the expectations for a premium product; especially given the recurring issues. In the end, I opted for a refund, which was processed. Overall, I think the Ultrahuman Ring Air has potential and a strong concept behind it. But based on my experience, there are still some improvements needed around long-term reliability and quality assurance. If you’re considering this ring, I’d recommend keeping an eye on how the product evolves, particularly in terms of durability and consistency of tracking over time.

At first the ring worked perfectly and seemed like a great buy for the price compared to other similar products in the market. However, after just 1 week of use the ring just stopped working. It would not connect to my phone and therefore was rendered useless. I contacted Ultrahuman and they sent a replacement ring out free of charge after quite a bit of back and forth. This next ring worked for about a month and then I had the same issue, not connecting to my phone. I then requested a refund as I was not happy with the quality of the item, great concept but does not work! This is where the real problems started. Ultrahumam agreed to reimburse me for my purchase. However, after weeks and weeks of back and forth, I have still not received a refund. The customer service team have asked me to confirm my bank details 4 times and each time they have said thank you we have sent this across to the relevant team who will process your refund, each time nothing happens and they request my bank details again. The level of service is shocking, they cannot process a simple refund. At this point I do not think I will ever see my refund as the customer service team are totally inept. I would avoid at all cost, unless you want to have a product that works great for only 1 month maximum and never be able to claim a refund if you are unhappy.

It works just fine, the customer service is excellent, size fits alright. The pregnancy mode doesn't really do much apart from telling me how far along I am and which stats can be different... and then the app tells me to pay attention to exactly those stats. Okay.

Ich habe den Ring vor etwa zehn Monaten gekauft und war anfangs wirklich begeistert. Solange der Ring funktioniert, ist das Produkt top. Nach ungefähr sechs Monaten begannen allerdings die Probleme. Mittlerweile hält der Akku nur noch einen einzigen Tag – bei einem Produkt in dieser Preisklasse absolut enttäuschend. Noch schlimmer ist jedoch der Support. Seit über einer Woche bekomme ich nur Standardantworten per Mail: „Ein Supportmitarbeiter meldet sich innerhalb von 48–72 Stunden.“ Dann wurde mir zwischenzeitlich sogar ein neuer Ring angeboten, ich habe zugestimmt – und danach begann wieder das gleiche Pingpong von vorne. Man wird ständig vertröstet, niemand fühlt sich verantwortlich und es passiert einfach nichts. Für einen Ring, der fast 400 € gekostet hat, ist das eine absolute Vollkatastrophe. Produkt gut, solange es funktioniert. Service und Support danach leider miserabel.

Cette bague connectee est encore en phase beta et il y a des progres a faire en ce qui concerne l'enregistrement des activites physiques et sportives (actuellement manuel et complique) et la detection du sommeil (siestes suggerees a des moments correspondant en realite a une phase active et heure de lever et coucher incorrectes). Cependant les analyses detaillees des phases de sommeil, du rythme cardiaque, des pas et du stress semblent generalement fiables et permettent un suivi interessant. L'autonomie de la batterie est bonne, a peu pres 4 jours, et elle se recharge rapidement. Le cable du chargeur est plus robuste que beaucoup d'autres et son esthetique merite une etoile a elle seule. La bague elle-meme est sobre, confortable a porter. Dans l'ensemble je recommande, c'est la meilleure des cinq que j'ai essayees et la seule que j'aie gardee.
