$80 wife-canceling headphones?
My bold headline is 100% tongue-in-cheek--I adore my wife. These headphones are so good at this price point that it has the unintended effect of making it hard to hear my wife when she calls for me! Nooo! A few years ago I bought some Sony over-ear WH1000XM3s for $350 and they served me well for a couple of years, until they developed a major in-ear *shrieking* feedback loop issue, which made the active noise cancellation (ANC) totally unusable, so I started using them as corded headphones until the headband broke. This put me in the market for a new pair of ANCs, but money is tight right now. So I researched budget ANCs and found the Edifier W830NB after watching a variety of YouTube videos. For $80, these seem to have (subjectively) about 80-90% of what that older Sony pair delivered in terms of ANC and sound quality. I did some headphone frequency sweeps via YouTube and the headphones didn't have trouble with most frequencies. I did notice that while doing a center-channel frequency sweep, sometimes a tone would sound louder in one ear than the other, (which it's ideally not supposed to do), but that's not a deal-breaker for me. The bass could also be a bit thumpier, as I listen to a lot of hip-hop (among many other genres). The headphones did not rattle, though, during the low-range frequency tests, which suggests a solid build quality. Overall, I think these are five star for the money and the ANC. They may not rattle your brain in the audio quality arena, but for my purposes, sitting at my desk and trying to drown out the sound of a loud wall AC and portable fans during the summer, they do a fantastic job. I also like that this Edifier model has a corded (USB-C) jack, which I use most of the time. the next rung-up of Edifier ANCs didn't have this feature. The headphones are comfortable--maybe a little tight right out of the box, but after the foam gets softer, they'll be fine. The earcups feel a bit warm, but I also live in Los Angeles, where warm weather is frequent, and my Sonys had the same issue. This Edifier charges quickly, the sound is clear, and I can work dutifully at my desk. Although sometimes I have to lift up one of my ear cups, just so I can hear my wife. :)

Really nice for the price
I was looking for a pair of wireless headphones for my PC after I finally broke my ATH-M30x’s and came across these. Battery life is great, I tend to forget to turn them off and I’ve only had to charge them a few times. The comfort of the pads is decent, it’s not completely over my ears but they fit snug and are comfortable enough to sit for a few hours playing games without getting that awkward feeling on your ears. Sound quality is pretty good, not super bass heavy but enough to be able to pick it out from the rest of the frequencies. I’d recommend to anyone who likes to have a headset for multipurpose use. Easy to connect to the pc as well as my phone and they’ll switch back and forth without having to reconnect them.

Better than expected
I was a bit skeptical before buying because I have tried many brands of headphones and always ended returning them. I am a fan of Bose earbuds since my first pair, which was the wired Quiet Comfort pre noise cancellation those were the best earbuds, then I move to Bluetooth earbuds from Bose as well but after a couple of years I have to renew them. Now this Edifier are my first experience with the brand, and even though this were not the ones that I actually wanted to buy, I decided to give them a try with a lower tier and have a feel of the brand. Having all of this in mind, they feel great to the touch even the outer plastic shell feels premium, the padding cups are soft and they do not make uncomfortable pressure to my head, which most headphones do. Sound quality is amazing and well balance, rich highs and deep bass, they sound like if I push the volume up all the way, they will blow my hair out, lol, so I don't pass 60%. Battery life seems to good to be true but only time will tell. They came charge at 100% out of the box and after about 4 hours of non continuing use my phone still show they are at 100%. The buttons and controls are easy to use, big enough to feel which one I am pressing and they feel sturdy enough. The weight is well distributed and they do not feel heavy, I only use them for about 2 hours straight and they were comfortable. I haven't tested the ANC enough to have an opinion but it seems like is good, it does have three modes, full ANC On, ambient noise and ANC Off, at this time I can't tell the difference between the last two. My overall first impression is of satisfaction, value vs price and do not feel like there is anything better out there, sound is rich and powerful, they are pretty to look at too! They could be a 5* but I haven't tried enough and that is why I don't rate them that high. So after a couple of days of having them and a few hours of use, I am happy and I will recommend them.

Would buy again and would recommend.
I love these, they're probably the best headphones i've ever used in this price point. The sound is very clear, it's much more durable than my previous Soudcore headphones (much much more durable), the controls make sense, I've never had an issue with Bluetooth or anything. The only downside to these is the mic quality but I was aware it wasn't the best going in, it works fine if there isn't any noise around you but if there is, like at a cafe or on loud bus, the person on the other end isn't going to be able to pick up what you're saying very well. They're also very comfortable, i've worn them for hours with no problem, super comfortable on my ears, battery quality is also pretty good as well. A for the noise cancellation, I'm on the spectrum so can be sensitive to noises from the street when I'm walking, restaurants, malls, etc, and these don't block them out 100% but do it just enough i can distract myself with music or a podcast instead.

Do it. Get them. It’s worth it.
These are amazing headphones. I have had them for 9months now. I work 14hr shifts, sometimes we sit all day these headphones will hold the charge the whole time. They have so many different modes to get the audio quality you want. You can access the noise cancellation mode without using the app. They are so comfortable, the foam on the ear cups creat such a great seal. You can connect to multiple devices at a time through Bluetooth. The ear cups are replaceable as well if needed. I love them. Highly highly recommend!!!

These are great headphones with one major problem
The sound is great! I'm not an audiophile, but these sound good across all frequencies. There is an app where you can adjust all the frequencies. And they are allegedly noise cancelling. I haven't tried that feature yet because the padding around the speakers effectively blocks most outside sound. I haven't taken them on a plane yet to check it out, but for using at the gym, you don't need it. The one major problem I have is the on/off switch. It is placed between the "up" and the "down" controls in one continuous strip of rubber. It is not very large, though it does have a noticible "bump" on in. To turn them on, you press and hold this button. I haven't yet managed to reliably find this "nub" while wearing the headphones, so I have to turn them on - off of my head and wait for the blue light to flash. The light flashes very slowly, so you don't know whether they're on by the light alone for awhile. There is an audio notice that they are on and then another when they are connected. But you have to hold them up to one of your ears while pressing the button to hear it. I ususally have to try 2-3 times to turn them on, but they are quicker to turn on than off. But the real problem comes when turning them off. Of course, you use the same button between the Up and Down controls. But turning them off takes even longer. At least 2-3 minutes, without exageration. I've held the button down for at least that long. It's impossible to do with them still on your head. You have to take them off and watch for the RED light. Sometimes the volume increases or decreased while you're attempting to turn them off. It's very frustrating and it happens every single time. Clearly, either the button needs to be isolated, on it's own. This would be physically impossible to retrofit these. So it's a very poor design. And the button should be more responsive to a button press. Pressing the on/off button quickly has no effect. Interestingly, the "Pairing" button is on its own. It would really be nice if there were a firmware update to address this, but that may be too much to ask. The other great thing about these is that the battery lasts almost forever, which is one of the reasons I got them. While I like these, I would definitely not buy them again or recommend them to anyone else, unless you are prepared for some major frustration. I waited 3-4 months before writing this review because I thought that there was something I was doing wrong when turning them off, but no matter what I do, it just takes trial and error and patience to get these to turn off. If you are prepared for this pain point, these sound good, are comfortable and the battery lasts a long time. A lot to like, but very frustrating.

Decent headset with some major drawbacks.
Pros: Comfortable to wear for hours on end. Clear, full sound. You can hear the low end but it's not overpowering (I prefer that it would hit harder). Long battery life. Cons: The headset will randomly change the sound. When on calls, sometimes I can hear myself clearly while most of the time I sound like I'm in a muted closet. The mics are not very good for online meetings. It's very inconsistent. Sometimes I'm heard clearly, other times they have a hard time hearing me or can't hear me at all. It looks like I'm going to have to purchase a separate mic for work calls. The headset I had before this one did a much better job, but unfortunately, its build quality wasn't good so I didn't get another set. I would not buy these again and have considered returning them.

Great Buy
Great audio quality, with decent adjustments available through the app. Insane battery live, as I have yet to have to charge them after using them over 6 hours so far.

Edifier W830NB headphones, comfortable fit.
I’ve been using the Edifier W830NB headphones for a while now. For anyone considering a pair of wireless, noise-cancelling headphones that strike the perfect balance of performance and value, these are definitely worth a look at. First, the standout feature is the impressive Active Noise Cancelling (ANC). The -45 dB ANC capability, ideal for use on a plane, in a coffee shop, or commuting. I can finally enjoy music etc without background distractions. The sound quality itself is excellent too, with clear highs, rich mids, and deep bass that doesn’t feel overwhelming. Battery life is another area where these headphones shine. With up to 94 hours of playtime, depending on use, ie noise cancelling will reduce this, as expected. This makes them especially handy for long haul flights—no more stressing about finding a charging port! They’re also super comfortable. The over-ear design, combined with plush cushioning, makes these headphones easy to wear for hours on end without any discomfort, the fit is secure yet gentle. Portability is a bonus as well. Despite their over-ear design, they fold up compactly, so they’re easy to stow away in a carry-on or backpack. They’re durable yet lightweight, making them a solid choice for travel. Lastly, the price was incredibly competitive for what you’re getting. It’s rare to find headphones with this level of sound quality, ANC, and battery life without spending a small fortune. If you’re looking for premium features at a reasonable price point, I would highly recommend looking at the Edifier W830NB, headphones.

Die Musik zum Testen, war klassisch, Jazz und Pop mit folgenden Stücken (vielleicht interessiert es ja jemanden): Beethoven 5 Symphonie Carlos Kleiber DG, Klavier Sonate 29 Murray Perahia DG, Berlioz Sinfonia da Reqiem Hickox, Julsang - Marianne Mellnas, That Kind of love - Alison Krauss, Afrolini - Charly Antolini, A salty dog - Procol Harum, In my heart - Youn Sun Nah, Between two Points - David Gilmour.
