- Dermeleve Dermatologist Recommended Steroid Free Anti-Itch Cream, 4oz 1 Ct.

I don't often write reviews, but this product deserves one.A few years ago, I developed a food allergy which caused rashes all over my body. My dermatologist gave me some prescription creams. They did help relieve the itchiness and the rashes eventually went away. However, every time I ate certain food, the rashes came back. When it happened, I would apply the creams and they would go away, except for a stubborn area on my leg. The area was itchy and the cream I had been using started to lose effectiveness as years went by. I kept scratching which caused the skin to break, the clear liquid came out and spread more. The symptoms persisted if not got worse.Recently, a friend gave me this product - Dermeleve, saying that it would help with the itchiness and it was made without steroids, which causes skin thinning. I have a sensitive skin, so I'm very skeptical about trying new skincare/topical treatment products. But I was concerned about the steroid side effect that was mentioned. After doing some research, I looked at the area on my leg only to confirm that it did look thinner. At that point, I decided to give Dermeleve a try. Firstly, I saturated a cotton pad with sterile saline solution and placed it on the affected area until it dried. It disinfected and softened the skin for a better absorption (I started this experiment not long ago, when I was still using the steroid cream). Then I applied Dermeleve, twice a day.Amazingly, after a few days, not only the itchiness went away, but the skin also started to heal. 10 days into the treatment, I could see a significant improvement. The underneath liquid spots appeared to be lighter in color, most cracks were gone and only dry spots remained, which showed the process was on the right track. I then skipped the saline solution and only used the cream, still twice daily.It's definitely not a cheap product, in term of both price and quality. But since I use it for spot treatment (2.5" x 1.5" treating surface), it's still cost effective to me and a little does go a long way. The cream itself has a thin consistency, it glides on smoothly and absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy/sticky feeling. Someone mentioned about the unpleasant smell, I think the smell is very subtle, I really don't notice anything.At the time I write this review, it's been over 2 months since I first used it. The skin surface is completely healed and the liquid underneath it was gone. I'm very happy with the result. I also love that it's an OTC product, meaning it can be conveniently purchased whenever I'm in need. I still eat certain foods that could trigger the rashes, just less frequently and in a small amount because I enjoy them. For that, it's good to have the Dermeleve cream on hand. I hope this product can eventually get rid of this stubborn spot one day. But even if it doesn't, at least it can keep the area at bay and it is safe to use.

Fabulous! Stings like an ant bite when you first apply it but takes the itch right out and dries it up fast. Much better than steroid creams.

The Dermemeve cream seems to work well however I am very disappointed that the scalp serum is not available. With the cream you really have to put the cream into your hands and then rub over your hair and into the scalp. This leaves a greasy feeling in your hair so I had to do this at bedtime.

My need for this item is a very itchy bumpy red rash that is likely caused by my lymphoma and is not going away. I had tried every prescription topical product there is from the dermatologists, also from off the shelf in the drugstore. For a while a monthly shot stopped the itch but caused horrendous side effects after a few months that were unlivable. In desperation I spent the money to try this cream and it is miraculous. It goes on smoothly, is not greasy, has no smell, and greatly relieves my terrible itch. I told my oncologist about it and he was interested and pulled it up on his computer screen. The 4 oz tube lasts longer than I thought it might, a little goes a long way. To be honest, my rash is so severe that I wouldn’t much care if this stuff was greasy and smelly if it WORKED. This cream seems to have it all.

I used this on my husband and he said it really helped. He said it relieved the itching and not greasy at all. I hope it continues to help him. I recommend this product.

From someone who suffers from hives and eczema, I can confidently say that this was a great purchase. My dermatologist recommended it to me and I have done the same for others. A little pricey, but no regrets.

It’s ok but don’t expect miracles. Reduces the itch for a few minutes, then again so does benedryl cream. I personally have had limited success with topical creams, steroid or otherwise. Maybe you will luck out.

Excellent relief dry skin cream. Dialysis can really dry you out and of all of the creams he has tried this one seems to be the one that stops that terrible itch and skin break outs.
