Blundstone Dress Chelsea Boots for Men & Women

I work using chemicals a lot. My work boots usually last only 1 year and they look start terrible after 6 months! I’ve had these several months now (since Sept ‘24) and bought them based on a workmate’s recommendation. They have been very comfortable. The 2 loops help you put them on because the opening is narrow so they are not the type that’s easy to slip into. You need both hands in my opinion and need good balance if you put them on standing or else you need to sit down. As soon as I got them I thought they were too nice for my work and that I would tear them up. So I put Neetsfoot oil on them and I recommend you do the same just to improve its waterproofing . But they have held up quite well. They still look good. I do wipe them with a microfiber weekly and have reapplied the neatsfoot oil. They are very easy to clean as they have no laces and the leather is smooth. Very good (not superb) slip resistance. I’ve used them in the snow and have not slipped but if the snow is deep I usually switch into a better snow boot. No problems in the rain. I would definitely buy them again. I think their being nicer than my past work boots has helped me take better care of them. I’ve received comments from workmates that my work boots are very nice. I bought these for $137. Not cheap, but with care I think they will last me 2-3 years.

Sizing is difficult with these boots. So I want to share my experience. I usually wear a US size 10.5 but I bought US size 9.5 in these. Basically, I know I wear a Euro size 42 because I have had multiple pairs of Birkenstock’s. These were also my third pair of Blundstone boots - the two previous pairs being a Euro 42 and a Euro 43. The Euro 43 (US size 10) was a tad bit too long but still wearable. The Euro 42 (US size 9.5) fits tighter at first but the length is perfect. I will wear thin socks when the boots are new, and they will break in to fit my feet perfectly. Why am I on my third pair of these? I wore the other two pairs daily until they wore out. When they fit these are the most comfortable, most durable, most stylish boots I have ever worn. You can wear them in the rain and mud one day and wear them on a date to a nice restaurant the next. I live in a rainy climate and I will wear them all winter. Five Star Boots. If the sizing throws you off - go to a retail store and try before you buy.

I typically wear an 8.5E (wide) and the 9M fits very comfortably with boot socks. I bought these boots to wear in Kabul, Afghanistan. I wear business casual clothing to meetings around the city and these hold up to the gravel and in-construction roads around town without looking out of place with slacks. I wanted to find boots that could take a beating and still look dressy enough. Most of the guys here are in trail shoes or boots, which look silly with a suit and tie. These fit the bill, especially compared to the other, bulkier Blundstone models. They're not very slim, but they don't look as bulky as most other work boots either. The top part of the boots are slim enough to fit under pants, but definitely not tight around my ankles. The looped tabs make them very easy to don and doff, which is particularly useful in a country where you have to take your shoes off indoors and for meals. The leather is dark, but still clearly brown. The leather is smooth and soft. Not super smooth enough to pick up a shine (with Alden Fine Boot Cream), but it's held up well against scuffs and scratches. So far, the insole is comfortable, but it is removable in case you want to use your own insoles. The sole is robust and hasn't worn down very quickly. The treads have good grip: I haven't yet slipped while jumping over and around potholes. I'm very pleased with this purchase. They aren't too expensive and fit my requirements: robust and dressy enough.

Back and forth, Back and forth I went on what size to get for the Blundstone Dress boot. Here is my conclusion... 1. Sizes shown on the amazon site are in US NOT AUS. So for example, a 9w/7m is the US shoe size for men and women I found that out because I thought/was told from the Amazon question section that it reflected the AUS sizing. So I ordered the 9w/7m thinking it was AUS7. Wearing a mens 8.5 us and knowing that the shoe runs large I ordered the mens '7' from the site (sizing 1.5 sizes down). It came as a US mens 7/AUS mens 6.... At first I thought it was tight and unwearable, although my toes were up in the toebox but not touching, it was just tight. So to be sure I ordered (from the Blundstone site as the next size up in amazon would take a long time) AUS 7 (US 8) and Aus 7.5 (US.85) and both were a little too big lengthwise....the 7 fit good in width but the 7.5 was not tight at all (half sizes only mean more material on the instep)I I ended up keeping the AUS 6 (US 7), reminder I normally wear an 8.5 in Nike Free, J&M, Clarks, etc. I found that after a couple of days of wear, and as you may have read, the leather does stretch. In my case it stretched perfectly around the instep and a little around the toe area. I know the sites will say it doesnt stretch for the length, but I found that to be somewhat untrue. Yes, the sole/platform of the shoe wont stretch, but the leather around the toes did a little for me (for me walking up and downhill where my toes were pushed in the toebox). I'm a person that cant stand shoes that are too big or have too much room, especially being in a chelsea boot because there are no ties. 2. This boot runs big 3. 1/2 sizes mean wider/more material on the instep, not length 4. The toe box is wider and a little longer than normal shoes 5. the leather in the toe box will stretch a little, but not the platform or soles. Hope this helps!

Very comfortable and classy looking. Will wear for travel in Ireland where all weather types are possible.

These are very handsome boots and really easily compliment any smart attire. These fit quite differently to regular blundstones, namely they are more narrow, even the half width(wide) is more narrow than a normal whole size blunnie's. They are not as comfortable,when you compound the narrow last and the hard underfoot lasting board compared to the 550 blunnie or the redback. It rate them a solid 7 for comfort, but with boots like these they tend to fill a niche that most other boots really can't fill and for that I can't knock them, that niche being easy to slip on and very complimentary style. So to liken it to cars, this is very much like a roadster, they look great, they make you feel better about yourself, and maybe just sometimes that's all that matters.

After buying these boots and with minimal use, only wore a handful of times, the soles are separating and the sole material is visibly degrading. When I contacted Blundtone about the warranty, they informed me that they don't authorize ANY sellers on Amazon. They only sell through their site, Zappos and one other company. Because I purchased the boots here, Blindstone cannot honor the warranty. I've contacted the seller on Amazon multiple times with ZERO responses. Amazon has also been unhelpful, blocking me from filing claims despite the product being defective and well within the manufacturer's 2 year warranty period. Bottom line: You're paying a lot for boots you can't get warranty coverage on from sellers that don't respond and aren't authorized to sell on here. Please buy directly from Blundstone or Zappos if you want true customer service and warranty coverage. This review reflects the seller experience, not Blundstone's product quality.
