Long Term Fire Starting Capability Plus a Few Tips
This 3-pack of Fresnel lenses are a good deal for the money and a solid product for survivalist, campers, hikers, or anybody needing a last resort method of lighting a fire on a sunny day. These are thin, flexible and about the size of a credit card and will slip into a wallet or go bag without weight or taking up space. A must have in my opinion. Fresnel lenses are a magnifying lens specialized designed to ignite dry tinder and start a fire, but you must have sunlight like any magnifying glass. An important aspect of these Fresnel lenses is that they are 4x magnification compared to many that are only 2x. The 4x will burn quicker and help you get the fire started. As in any fire starting venture, you want the driest tinder possible, and build a small tinder pile (or make a tinder bundle) and focus the light beam to start the burning process. Make sure you have dry twigs and larger woods on hand to build your fire. A handy thing to carry in your go-bag is a couple dry tea bags that can help assure you of something that will ignite in a less than perfect environment. Tinder bundles are compressed dry leaves and small twigs. You don't want them to be to loose, but not to tight either, because you want air to circulate through the bundle to aid the fire. In a survival situation, if you have access to dry tinder materials, you want to make several tinder bundles while the getting is good in case it rains. If you have some plastic, wrap them up to keep them dry, or put them in an article of clothing and stash them so they won't get wet. You can see many demonstrations on You Tube. Highly recommended!

So compact that I almost didn't think I received all of them.
Haven't started any fires yet, but I know full well that fresnel lenses will do it. They're so thin that I though I was shorted at first, but there's absolutely 3 lenses in the packaging.

Not for a phone projector project
Originally bought these for my child who loves science experiments to make a phone projector - donโt. These are not the ones you need. You need the big ones. These are survival fire starters. They are thin so kids break them easily. Good value since you get multiple in the pack.

Wallet Fresnel that earned its keep on a sunny Saturday
Tossed one of these Best Glide credit-card Fresnels in the glove box โjust in caseโ and forgot about it until a camping morning with damp tinder and no lighter drama I wanted to admit to. Clear sky, focused the green lens on a dark char cloth scrap, and it did the magnifier/fire-starter thing without needing a science lecture. The other two stayed in the kit as backups โ three-pack is smart because these scratch if you treat them like regular cards in a messy wallet. Tip: keep it in a sleeve or the little pouch; a foggy lens is just expensive plastic. Small, flat, actually useful.

Where have these been my whole life?
I am what you would call an "armchair" survivalist. Testing out survival gear is one of my hobbies. I am not going to lie, I thought these were a gimmick - they definitely are not! These barely weigh a few grams but they do so much for so little mass. In full sunlight I lit a cigarette in about 20-30 seconds and I am confident I could get a camp fire going with relative ease. As a bonus, on the back of the sleeve I drew a diagram of a bowline knot (the so-called king of knots). This is probably my favorite piece of survival gear overall. Very impressed!

Not 4X power
I compared these to the 3X ones I have and they are same power. So, you're paying for 3 of these when you can get a pack of 12 for the same price but without the tacticool "survival" printed vinyl sleeves.
