Battery operated candles have become easier to use over the years. The set of nine works well. They were easy to open at the base and just use 2 AA batteries. The remote control is excellent with a variety of options. I am very pleased.

I didn't realize it had a remote, which I really didn't need however, my husband fiddled with it for a few minutes and got it working. Only one didn't work somehow the batteries got hot and 'recycled' itself, I tossed that one but the others work with AA batteries and remotes had button batteries for remote you just pull the tab to activate.

They work great!! Real wax. Flicker mode. REMOTE CONTROL. That is awesome. I have some outside and they have survived rain and snow. Great for the money. That was one I set up early just starting decorating indoors. It looks great.

This is a review of HANZIM Flameless Candles Battery Operated Candles What You Get (Figure-1) 2 remote controls w/batteries 1 spare battery cover… nice touch 9 flameless pillar candles made from real wax, in the following sizes • 2 – 4 inch • 2 – 5 inch • 2 – 6 inch • 1 – 7 inch • 1 – 8 inch • 1 – 9 inch Each candle is 2.2 inches (5.6cm) in diameter. Usage (Figure-2) This is my second set of these candles. I use them about the house, and to bring a bit of warmth and coziness to catering events. They each take two aa batteries (not included) and are rated for 150 hours of continuous use on one set of batteries. I use rechargeable batteries, so my performance is slightly lower than that. In addition to battery life, they are rated to last for 50,000 hours. Since that is almost six years, I have yet to test that claim out. However, my first set of these were purchased over a year-and-a-half ago and are still going strong. Activate the candles by adding the batteries, and carefully closing the battery cover. Note Those covers will break if forced, so be careful. Then turn them on by sliding the on/off switch to the on position. You can now use the remotes to control the candle’s many features. Since you get nine candles, I have a tendency to group them in threes, as you can see from these images (Figure-3, Figure-4, Figure-5). Two Full-Feature Remotes (Figure-6) To active the remotes, pull the plastic tab out from the bottom. The remotes are IR, not wireless, so they will need to be in line-of-site with the candles, in order for them to work. I also performed a distance test and I needed to be between 10 – 12 feet (3 – 3.6 meters) for the candles to recognize the signal coming from the remote. The top buttons on the remote are for turning the candles on (green) and off (red). The candles must be on before using any of the other features. The remainder of the buttons are divided into 4 sections. Timer The four buttons in this section control how long the candles stay lit (2, 4, 6, or 8 hours). Note: If you just press the red on button, the candles will stay on until the batteries fail. Mode You have two choices: Candle or Light mode. Light mode gives you a steady light; while Candle mode gives you the illusion of a flickering candle. Note: When you first use the Candle mode on a group of candles, they will all flicker at the same time, which makes them look fake; however, after about 20 – 30 seconds they will begin flickering independently of each other. Giving you a very realistic looking group of candles. Dim By pressing the two buttons (left, decrease, right increase), you can adjust the luminosity to fit the mood you desire. Bottom Line As I mentioned, this my second set, and after using them almost every day for18 months or so, they are still going strong. Note: All measurements and weights are derived from my study of the product and may vary slightly from those stated by the manufacturer.

Love that I can use the remote. Also, they were of different sizes so you get clustered in if you wanted to and see all of them.

Just unboxed for holiday decorating. One wont work at all. (Second to largest) setting the others up for a couple of hours to see how they do to decide on switching brands. The working ones are lovely, with a realistic flicker and glow through the sides.
