Let me start with, if you're not used to a bidet then maybe this isn't the best product to start with. In general, there are many problems in creating an effective portable bidet - however, I'm highly impressed by this product and would give it 10 stars if possible. Background, I've been an avid bidet user for 7 years and will never go back. Like many others I hated traveling or using the bathroom without it. In the past I would just rely on wipes (I understand those have a whole other list of problems) but those can't be used everywhere, they dry out (when I left in a gym bag or car to have on hand), and it's still just glorified wiping. I love this portable bidet so much because it's simple and effective. Yes, it still is a hassle in general if you are comparing not having one at all vs needing to bring this to the bathroom with you, fill with water, flip upside down and aim, and then clean after. That's like saying flying is a hassle - yet it's still one of the best ways to travel long distance. I love this because it's almost as good/effective as the real thing and for someone focused on the results, the work is worth the effort. I bought this originally to go with me on a cruise and that alone was worth every (inexpensive) penny. It's also perfect for holiday travels and situations where I can either leave it in my bag, or store in the bathroom I'll be using while traveling. It's actually really easy to clean to - as long as you're not shoving it where the light doesn't shine. It does take experience to get proficient at it, and I can imagine it would be more difficult for bigger or less flexible people to reach around or get the right angle. But if you keep it from touching anything nasty, and then wash it at the same time you wash your hands with soap and water it's very quick and easy and then you can either store the nozzle in the bottle if you have to leave right away or let it dry a bit first. My gf is not a fan so I'll usually let it dry under the sink or in a cabinet sitting on a wash cloth or paper towel. Anyway I'm starting to rant but I absolutely love this and will use forever - or until the next major improvement comes along in portable bidets

If you don’t have a bidet or a very portable one, this will be a very usable options. It doesn’t leak, the directional spray is good. Ideally it would hold a bit more water if you’re not close to a water supply source. Please do not store closed or even with the nozzle inverted loosely upside down. * It needs to air out or mold will grow. Suggesting to Rinse out, leave open. If you turn it upside down make sure it gets air. It does as described though and I give it a 5⭐️

There is definitely a learning curve involved in using this. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to someone who's never used bidet before (and hasn't mastered the technique, so to speak). And yes, the bottle does leak on the bottom where the air release valve is - but that same valve helps you squeeze the bottle to create the water flow, and while it's probably something Brondell could fix, they likely won't be able to do that at this price range. And yes, it's a little tricky because you have to invert it to use and as soon as you do, leaky faucet alert! I don't think I've ever been able to use it without at least a few drops of water hitting where they're not supposed to. Not an issue if you're camping outdoors, but definitely something worth keeping in mind if you're using it at say, your workplace. I'm a little spoiled by the washlet I use at home having high pressure, and a hand-squeezed bottle isn't going to give you that kind of water flow. But I can't carry a washlet around with me. I CAN carry a little water bottle. This is PERFECT to use at the office because I honestly cannot stand not having a bidet anymore! And I hope at some point they'd be willing to upgrade with some sort of silicone model that you can really collapse down for travel usage. Overall, no fuss item that works as it should, despite some flaws. Definitely do some trial run at home before you really take it along on the field!

This product is amazing. Basically the reason I got this was because at home we use a water bidet, it’s installed into our toilet and it works great. We love our bidet. Now, when we go travel whether it’s road trip or a flight somewhere, we always dread going to the bathroom because we can’t properly clean ourselves like we do at home with our bidet, especially number 2. So, I caved in. I decided to order this and give it a go on our one week long trip to a different state. I instantly loved it and was so glad we made this purchase. It’s easy to use, makes you feel so fresh and clean, and it’s very effective in my opinion! Of course it’s not as good and strong pressure as a real bidet but I found myself just filling it up twice to get a good clean. It does the job so well, trust me. This was my reasoning behind getting this and I am happy with my purchase. I highly recommend it to others! Such a great travel find. Just be careful with squirting it on your clothes or something. It’s not hard to use, you’ll get the hang of it quickly.

As a relatively new bidet enthusiast, and advocate of what I like to call “hole health,” I knew I would need a portable bidet for travel, so I bought this nifty device. It is basically a squeezable bottle with a spout so that it sprays the water at an angle to wash off your poopy brown eye. It looked like what I imagine a douche bottle looked like from the old days, but not as graphic. Anyway, I had the opportunity to use it on a recent family getaway to the country. After a first use right after a 4.5 hour drive, I was pleased, as it provided the post-drive dump just the cleaning that was needed for the travel-weary dirty hairy: quick, refreshing, and no need for wiping other than to dry the ditch. The next several uses were not as successful. Needless to say, given the country diet of fried chicken, tacos, baked potatoes, chili, and burgers, I was relieved I brought my portable bidet. Unfortunately, after taking a morning tiger that would make a sailor blush, I ran out of water trying to hose off a stubborn band of cling-ons. After the routine ditch drying, I was aghast to see the dreaded brown stripe adorning my TP. But with no more water in the bidet, I was forced dangerously close to the barbaric practice of digging feces from my posterior Chewbacca sandwich by hand with tissue paper. Subsequent uses followed this general pattern, suggesting this bidet either doesn’t have enough water capacity or doesn’t have sufficient pressure. I found both to be true. Imagine smearing peanut butter in your lawn, and then think of the water pressure it would require to wash it clean. A squeeze bottle just won’t cut it. You need a hose. The same is true for a man’s soiled tush bush. Overall, this item will be good for like “roughing it” camping in the woods and whatnot, but in situations of running water, it is sub-optimal. It simply doesn’t have the pressure to wash the bum dangles off my furry puckered spider, or the capacity to do a sufficiently thorough job.

Bought 3 of these in 2016 and they still work just like I bought 'em yesterday. I got three so there's one in each bathroom and one for my car, which I keep in my center console. There are two things I don't care for. 1. The lip just above the sprayer. I think it's probably designed to prevent spraying upward (like on the toilet seat) but it sprays upward anyway, so that function doesn't work. 2. The spray needs to be a wee bit stronger, but it does work. What I love about them is... * They don't leak, even after all this time. * They are obviously VERY durable, since they've had heavy use for nearly 10 years. * It works just as I expected it to work. There is one wishlist item: * I wish I could fill the one in my car and put a cap on it. It's embarrassing to me to have to fill it in a public bathroom with stalls. Then I could pour in some water from a water bottle and cap it and use the bathroom. Instead of having to carry the water bottle AND this inside. I like small purses, and they both won't fit. I mean, I could carry a larger bag for it but a cap is an easier solution. Cleaning is easy! I put 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 hot tap water with a little dishwashing liquid in a bucket and immerse it for about 20 minutes. I bought a nail brush to scrub the nozzle portion clean because like showers, it creates a water buildup, which may actually be the reason some are reporting leaks. Then I rinse it really well and lay it on a towel to dry. All in all, I highly recommend this brand!

This bottle leaks constantly from the very bottom of the bottle. I bought one a long while ago and never had a problem with it. Don't know what the deal is with this one, but I wouldn't buy it unless you want to take a chance and you get one that doesn't leak.

My hands are curled and weak now from RA, so tushie wiping is difficult, and I don't swab off everything. I looked at a number of hand bidets and what decided me on this one is the knobbly band around the middle. It is not for decoration but prevents the bottle from slipping from my weak grasp. If you worry the bottle might slip away and fall in the pot, this feature mitigates that possibility. Other bottles are too smooth. The blue bit with the sprinkle holes is a good design feature. They are placed on the side, not the tip, so the bit won't fly off into the pot however hard you squeeze the bottle. But just to be safe, flush the toilet *before* using the bottle to clear waste from the bowl. You could still lose control of the bottle despite the nubs. Just prep for the worst! Cleaning your target: warm water, fill bottle, seat the stick part firmly. Mine did not leak at the base. Cover the little hole at the bottom *before* tilting the bottle. If your unit does not have a little metal button with a rattly little ball inside, return and replace, someone at the factory missed this one. Here's the trick for women: sit well back on the toilet so there is space in the front for the bottle to go below the seat. If you are a big girl, this might not work and you should get a sprayer that links to the toilet water supply instead, they're smaller. Lean well back, knees wide, get the business part of the sprayer below the toilet seat. As you close on your target, turn the bottle vertical. This is why having the spray holes on the side is good design. Release the kraken, I mean, remove finger from the hole in the base and use both hands to squeeze. It make take a couple tries to hit your back target, but practice makes perfect. Is it strong enough to remove the icky-sticky type of soil from your bum? No. Wipe the worst off if you've scarfed more salty, spicy food than is good for you. Flush before using the bidet bottle. My problem is even after thorough, multiple wipes, there is often that last residue that burns like acid and makes your day a misery. The only way to truly get it off is strip and use the shower massage down there. Not practical, even for those home all day. If you are suffering from diarrhea, this will definitely remove the watery residue from your poor abused bum. This worked like a champ. I happened to have a painful burning residue problem when it was delivered. I put it together, and what a relief first time out the gate. Whew! No, you do not completely give up using toilet paper. You still have to dry the area, but you will use less, and most importantly, there is less irritation on tender tissues. You'll be patting it dry, not dragging paper over it trying to get those last bits and failing. For those with hemorrhoids--and I've suffered too--get a handheld shower massage head, and use that to clean the area every day when you bathe. I've done that for years. But bidet type cleaning between showers will calm the area and should ease flare ups. I do not plan to use this outside my own bathroom. I'm disabled and no longer travel. Your mileage may vary if you do not have arthritis. This will work best with an elongated toilet, not a round one. Years ago I installed a chair height toilet with a long bowl. MUCH more comfortable and easier to stand up from.

Do you miss your bidet when travelling and/or suffer from IBD/IBS? I hope my comparison study helps you decide! I bought 5 different brands/types of portable bidets here on Amazon to test them for durability, water leakage, wand size, spray ability and portability. Received all five, unpacked and did the squeeze test on all of them. Most were flimsy plastic or wider grips except this one! Filled them all up with water and sat them on the counter. The products with the annoying little hole on the bottom, leaked water all over just sitting there so they were dried out and set aside for return. Another had a "bend" at the end of the nozzle/wand and when squeezed it sprayed all over. Nope, not what I wanted!! I wanted it to spray directional not "spray park" style. lol. This one did not leak, has a straight end, better quality plastic and easiest of all to hold and grip. Very little pressure needed to make it squirt out the water so I kept this one and am very happy! It is on the smaller of sizes but that actually helps its intended use & a full bottle is good for 2 trips to the bathroom in an RV. Just fill with warm water, point and squeeze to get the job done. It is easy to carry with the nozzle unscrewed and slid inside the bottle and then it slips into the discreet bag that arrives with it. I could not live without this when away from home in the RV! I leave it in the RV now as I bought another one to travel with when staying at hotels or visiting overnight with family. It was also the pick of my Gastroenterologist when we chatted about my portable bidet study. I hope this helps you decide!

My sons use this at their University in Europe. They find it very useful.
