Permanent Hair Color, Light Burdock 5N, Ammonia-Free, 4 fl oz

I found that I am allergic to professional hair color and most store-bought hair colors. I have a lot of grey and am not ready to go grey--I prefer my brown hair! This color was the last color to try before I had to accept going grey for good, but it worked! The color is very pretty and it covers quite well. I do have some resistent grey hairs on my temples, but it covers all of the greys on my head and it lasts longer than some other box colors I've used. The last time I used it I had NO itching! The first time I used it I had minimal itching due to my allergy. So if you are allergic to most hair dyes, do try this color. I'm reordering! OH, and because I have short hair, I got two colors out of it.

No toxic smells. No itchy chemical rash. I have very sensitive skin and this worked amazing for my grey hairs ( I am only using this for grey coverage) will order again and again

I first used this hair color about 15-20 years ago, when I was in my 20's and had no gray hair. Back then, I used it for "fun," and my favorite color was 7R (Turmeric Blonde). I was, and still am, about a level 5 (medium brown) naturally, though my hair has gotten ashier over the years. After my 20's, I let my hair go natural for many years, but after having kids, I started getting grays (they'll do that to you!). At that point, I decided to use Rainbow Henna (henna/indigo mix) because I didn't want a demarcation line and I wanted something that was all natural, with no chance of damaging my hair. Well, several years of using that product left my hair very healthy, but also very dark, and the too-dark hair was just making me look older. Long story short, I had to do a bleach bath on the lengths and ends to lift my hair about 1-2 shades, back to my natural 5. It took me several attempts to find the right color, but the 5N is perfect. For reference, the 6N made my hair quite red and lifted it about two shades, so it actually looked closer to the 7R. I found the 5N warm, but not terribly so--certainly not red or orange. It works with my henndigoed-then-bleach-bathed hair quite well. I think I called the folks at Herbaceuticals like 3-4 times, and they were so nice and helpful! Just love this company and its product. It's really too bad Whole Foods doesn't sell it anymore but now I just get it here or on the Naturcolor website. If you're trying to cover grays, I would HIGHLY recommend following the suggestion in the instruction booklet to first apply a little of the developer to the grays. I did this on my temples and my grays are gone. Oh, and it smells REALLY good too!

I like this product a lot, but you might want to know it fades pretty fast. Maybe it's the shampoo I use, or the grey hair I have to cover, I don't know. But the color is VERY natural and rich. When I used a different brand, in the second month the color looked brassy. This doesn't happen with Naturcolor. But by the end of the second month it's looking pretty light. That's when I color it again. Four stars instead of 5 because of the fading. It doesn't damage my hair or dry it out. I've used it regularly for about 3 years at least. Gloves are included.

This was my first time ever coloring my own hair (desperate to cover my gray scalp, unable to see my stylist during the pandemic). I am very happy with the outcome overall—color matched perfectly, and my hair is shiny and feels silky smooth after washing with enclosed shampoo/conditioner samples, just like it feels after professionally done—but trial and error on my part because I missed a few grays (though not really noticeable) probably from lack of experience and not leaving on long enough. I also have a lot of dye left over so I probably could have used more, but I was being careful and didn’t know how much to use, so I will know better next time. It did not burn/irritate my scalp at all (I have psoriasis), and it did not have a bad smell. I would definitely use this again.

Do not be fooled by all the 5- stars, it may work for you at first like it did for me. I purchased this product a number of times because I wanted to get rid of my grey hairs. The first three or four times I applied this product it worked great and I was pretty happy with the results. Then, with continued use and more applications my hair got extremely damaged. It is very dry, brittle, breaks easily and has started to thin out immensely especially after showering I have a lot more hair loss than usual. This product is not natural like it claims to be, I did research and this seemed like a decent product, this is the first hair dye I ever used and I regret it so much. Had I known it could have lasting damage on my hair and scalp health, I would have never bought it. I’ve tried everything from deep conditioners to oils and nothing seems to fix my hair back to its original state. My friends and family have noticed my significant hair loss and it has only gotten worse over time. BEWARE, do not buy this product. I seriously feel like suing this company for the irreversible damage it has caused to my hair, they should put a disclaimer when buying this product.

Leaves hair with nice color, BUT there are a lot of unpronouncable chemicals on the label. Purchased because I wanted to stop using colorings that uses chemicals, because they damaged my hair. Probably will not purchase again.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN HERBATINT! I love this haircolor, i went with Herbatint one time when I was traveling, and that was a big mistake. This is much better than herbatint and extremely healthy for your hair.
