I have an HP EliteBook 840 G3. The replacement keyboard I bought is slightly different from the original because the original wasn't backlit, while this one is. At first, I thought it wouldn't work because the ribbon cable is shorter than the original. However, the backlit keyboard connects to a different connector on the motherboard, so it does fit and works once it's connected to the correct port.

The keyboard fit but was not the model that came off the old laptop - the model number of the keyboard was different. The back light cable was too short - no backlight 🫤

I bought it thinking it was back-lit, but it’s not, so just keep that in mind. Edit: After reopening the laptop, I realised the back light cable wasn’t properly connected.

Works perfectly! Had to transfer over some of my computers options but everything fits great! Great seller as well
