I’d never tried anything from Jumiso before this, and honestly, I hadn’t even heard of the brand until I got the chance to test out this cleansing oil. That’s saying something, because I’ve been in the double cleansing camp for over a decade and have tried more oils and balms than I can count. Jumiso is one of those Korean beauty brands that focuses on simple, effective formulas without going overboard on unnecessary extras. Their approach feels clean and practical, which I appreciate as it’s more about letting a few good ingredients do the heavy lifting rather than overwhelming your skin with too much at once. As far as this cleansing oil goes, I’d describe it as lightweight and not greasy at all. Some oils leave behind a film that makes me want to rush straight to my second cleanse, but this one feels a lot cleaner on the skin. It has no noticeable fragrance, which is always a plus for me. The highlight ingredient here is sunflower seed oil, which is high in linoleic acid and helps to dissolve makeup and sunscreen without clogging pores. It’s also blended with jojoba seed oil, which is very skin-friendly and known for balancing sebum production as well as black currant seed oil, which brings in antioxidants to help calm and protect the skin while it cleanses. That combination makes it more thoughtful than the cleansing oils that just rely on one heavy base oil, and it fits the “pore clearing” idea since these ingredients support keeping congestion under control. In practice, I found it effective at breaking down sunscreen and everyday makeup, including base products that can be stubborn to remove. Now, waterproof formulas do take a little extra work. It’s not a one-swipe miracle, but with a bit of massaging, it gets the job done. I’d say it performs better than some cleansing balms I’ve tried but doesn’t completely dethrone my holy grails for waterproof removal. Still, it holds its own, and I like that it rinses away easily. For me, cleansing oils are always the first step, never the only step. I use this to melt everything down, emulsify with water, then go in with a gentle water-based cleanser. That combo guarantees I’m not leaving traces of oil behind and my skin feels fresh, not coated. At just under seven ounces for under $20, I think the value is really solid compared to a lot of other oils and balms on the market. So where do I land? I like it. It’s reliable, gentle, and has some thoughtful ingredients. It hasn’t quite earned “ride or die” status for me yet, but I’ll definitely finish the bottle and could see myself repurchasing, especially if it’s on sale. If you’re curious about trying a cleansing oil or want something straightforward without heaviness or fragrance, this is a pretty safe bet.

I bought this cleanser for my partner, and she thought it worked pretty well! It melts off waterproof makeup really well. Mascara and sunscreen came off clean when massaged in on dry skin, and she said she felt like her pores felt less clogged when using it to remove her regular makeup, too. She didn't notice any sort of strong scent, and it has a nice clear color. It didn't leave a film, and she said her skin felt refreshed and hydrated, not tight or stripped. It does take a bit of effort to rinse off fully, and if you skip a follow-up cleanser you might feel a little residue. Overall, it’s a solid first-step cleansing option. Nice for taking off makeup and grime, feels gentle, and gives your skin a clean and calm finish.

JUMISO Pore Clearing Cleansing Oil is the first step to double cleanse method known approximately since 14th century in Japan and Korea. The method was invented to remove heavy face makeup of court ladies and geisha during that time and proved to be effective for our times also. First step is to use oil to break down dirt, sebum and makeup; second step is to use water-based or foaming cleanser to remove oil residue and water-soluble grime. I am using double step cleanse already more than 10 years utilizing K-beauty and J-beauty products. I am using this method to remove tinted foundation and other face make-up. After using JUMISO oil my skin feels and looks clean, soft and refreshed. There are several types of oils in this cleanser (sunflower, grape, jojoba, macadamia and several others) some of them help to clear pores and prevent the formation of black heads, others have moisturizing and antioxidant properties. The cleanser has a very faint natural smell of sunflower oil (main ingredient), maybe it will remind you of cooking oil, but cooking oil is made of sunflower seeds also. I have combination skin type, but this oil will work on any type of skin, including dry and sensitive. I highly recommend to use it as a part of two-step cleansing regimen, because then you can see the full potential of this wonderful oil.

I love a good oil cleanser, and this Jumiso one is great. It has a very slight citrusy scent but it's not overwhelming by any means. As far as I understand it, oil cleansers are able to clean rather than clog pores by binding with oils already inside them and pulling them out in a way that gels and foams can't while not stripping too much moisture, but I'm not a scientist. I just know I feel better when I use an oil cleanser before a "normal" one. So this was the first step in my skincare routine this morning and evening -- this morning followed by a Jumiso foaming cleanser and this evening followed by another brand, and in both cases followed by a toner, mask, serum, and moisturizer. I did not experience any tightness or irritation after using this cleanser and I think it helps to give my skin a nice glow at its baseline. This one is different from other oil cleansers I've used in that after emulsifying it with a little bit of water, you're supposed to wash it off with another cleanser. Normally you would fully rinse off the oil cleanser after emulsifying it, THEN cleanse, so it may be important to choose a cleanser that works well when applied at the same time. The Jumiso foaming hyaluronic acid cleanser did a great job of that, in my opinion. I'm very happy with this cleanser overall and I'm glad to have it in rotation in the very important first step of my routine.

I love that this cleansing oil does not have any added fragrance or coloring in it. The ingredient list is fairly short and mostly recognizable. There are lots of great oils in this for cleaning your skin effectively but also gently. I don't use make-up but do wear a very oil based sunscreen that a lot of cleansers struggle to take off in one go. I tried this cleansing oil on it and it was very effective at taking off the sunscreen without making my skin feel dry or stripped. I appreciated that it was gentle and even though it felt like it wasn't really cleaning my face because it was so gentle, I was surprised to see that it did. The first application with your skin dry is pretty nice and feels like a nice moisturizer. When you add the water, the oil foams a little and you can feel it cleanse. I followed up with a foaming cleanser and it did the job well. I probably am not a huge fan overall of oil cleansing for non-make-up wear as it takes 2 steps to clean the skin BUT this do a very good job. I just prefer a one and done approach so YMMV. For those who do use oil based make-up, you will like this as it is gentle but effective. The bottle is large and the pump works well.
