be quiet! Silent Wings 4 Cooling Fan | 120mm PWM high-Speed | White | BL115

I was looking to get the best low-noise but high performance fan for the single output of my case to balance with the 4 low-noise fans I had running for air intake. Originally I had Fractal Design Dynamic GP14 fan that came with the case but I swapped that to be an additional input when I upgraded to a higher powered Corsair ML140 Pro. With the Corsair fan performance was decent but I found it seemed to get a bit noisy at moderate speeds.Realistically, my cooling setup was always more than adequate, I didn't have any temperature issues whatsoever, but I am a bit of a nerd for good air cooling and just like upgrading something once in a while and it seemed like there was room for improvement here.I had the corsair for several years but I would occasionally do research on fans or watch the latest reviews and comparisons of fans on youtube. Eventually the time felt right that I felt like spending the money and that there were some good options to upgrade to. This fan has been a definite improvement capable of moving more air at lower sound levels. I also like that it has the headroom to push to even higher speeds than I need with my current setup just in case I ever feel like it or was trying to max my performance having fun overclocking and benchmarking.I didn't bother to do any recorded tests of my temps but my subjective experience has been that I am very happy with the performance as I created a fan curve for it that gives me what I want airflow wise and my computer remains quieter than it did before. I also stepped away from having my computer with so many LED lights so the transition to a fan without lights worked for me. A few months ago I made significant upgrades to my processor and my video card and this still handles everything I can throw at it with ease and quietness. I have been super happy with the performance of this fan and will definitely have them in mind next time I am building a system.

I purchased the be quiet! Silent Wings 4 140mm PWM high-Speed fan to go in to the rear case position of my Fractal Define R5 case. Another review led me away from the Silent Wings Pro 4 as the user noted that it was loud at full speed and that it was optimized to go on to radiators which contributed to the extra cost of the fan. Upon receiving it I was shocked by the weight of this fan, nearly 11 ounces. Fit and finish appeared superb. Since I was only purchasing one fan, I was mostly price agnostic. I needed a rear case fan to use in combination with a Noctua NH-D15 cooler to help cool an Intel i9-13900K. It's plugged in to the CPU-OPT header on my MB which works well for my set-up since I don't game and don't put any stress on the GPU (CPU based video rendering.) The PC sits on my desk about 1.5 feet away from my ear. The PC is completely silent at idle with all the fans running at 30%. I get maximum cooling of the i9-13900K with the two Noctua heatsink fans plus the Silent Wings high speed set at 90% (about 1700 RPM for the be quiet! fan.) I get no throttling when working on my simple and short 4K videos and the sound level remains moderate even at 100% fan speeds for the 3 CPU fans. I have it mounted for silence which places the fan about 1 mm away from touching the case. This is how it arrives in the package. If you prefer, however, you can reverse the corner mounts and mount it touching the case for maximum air pressure. I'm using the 3rd party software FanControl to control all of my PC fans. I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of this fan.

I installed a new Main Board in my 18 yo mid-tower size case. This fan is perfect and MUCH quieter than the original constant RPM fan it replaced.

Got one of these to replace the exhaust fan on my case, for some increased airflow. Also because its white and matches the case. I got a very premium feeling fan, which came in its own box inside the outer box. Some screws, push pins, and alternate fan corners to use fan screws instead of the push pins. The fan cable came wrapped around the frame perfectly as well.I opted for the push pin installation because they seem more unique than regular screws. Installation only took about one minute thanks to them! Before I installed it in the case, I compared the noise and airflow to a Noctua A14x25 with the scientific instruments of my ears and hands. At full speed, the Noctua fan produced some motor noise, but provided a more focused airflow out the back of the fan. The be quiet! fan had no motor noise whatsoever, while spinning 500 rpm faster, with only the sound of air moving being evident. However the be quiet! fan had a less focused exhaust than the Noctua, though it is advertised as having a funnel shaped outlet so maybe this is intended. Will definitely buy more of these if I end up needing more 140mm fans.edit: i bought another one lol

Silent, powerful, be careful when testing it, the wings are really sharp, I cutted my fingers into blood, and broken one fan. Amazing design ( not so silent in my build, bad airflow, IN MY BUILD ONLY)

Splurged on four of these to replace a disappointing set of Arctic P14 Max, which were themselves a replacement for my case's Fractal GP-14s, one of which developed a rattle. I wanted to replace them all to keep the aesthetic consistent.Build quality and quality control are excellent. All four are identically silent at low speeds, only becoming noticeable with low background noise above around 650 RPM (30% PWM). There's no rattling or buzzing or anything, only a very quiet high frequency whine from the motor which I can only hear when I take a fan out of the case and put it up to my ear at low RPM. Huge improvement over my poor luck with the Arctic 5-pack. Quieter than the Fractals, too, but not particularly noticeable in normal usage.They spin down completely under around 200 RPM (10% PWM). They're practically silent when they spin back up, too, unlike the awful ratcheting sound I experienced when the Arctic P14 Maxes kicked in. This is how a "Zero RPM" feature should work. I have them going at 200 RPM baseline anyway because why not, they're completely inaudible.They push a lot of air, too. Not as much as a P14 Max at high speed due to the obvious difference in RPM, but it's more than you'll realistically need anyway. Thanks to the much reduced noise level, you can safely bump your fan curves up a bit to offset the lower RPM without sacrificing peace and quiet. As far as I can tell, they push more air than the Fractals, and at lower volume, but not enough that I'd recommend spending this much to replace quality fans that come included with a mid-high end case.That's really the only problem I have with them: the price. I wouldn't recommend anyone do what I did and spend $23 (or more) to replace several perfectly good fans with, admittedly better, aftermarket ones. Of all the things to upgrade in a system, case fans should be pretty low on the priority list. But if you're replacing a bad one, I'd absolutely pay the extra premium for something that, based on my experience, performs better where it counts (and is a lot more likely to work properly in the first place).You get some interesting accessories. Each fan comes with two sets of removeable corner pieces, one set of thinner, flexible rubber ones which are installed by default, and one set of standard hard plastic ones. The plastic ones are secured by screws like normal, but the rubber ones feature toolless installation with included plastic push pins. I tried the rubber ones and they work just fine for my use, though the toolless installation isn't really any easier than just grabbing a screwdriver. I don't know if they're contributing any reduction in vibrational noise but hey, it's an option.I want to mention the aesthetics, too. Man, be quiet! has my favorite fan aesthetic going for it. The ridges on the blades are subtly visible while the fan spins, giving the impression that my case is full of vinyl records. Pretty cool. The cables are also sleeved, which looks nice but does make them a little less flexible for cable management.tl;dr Great and consistent quality and performance, but IMO too expensive for a full system overhaul. Highly recommended to replace 1 or 2 busted fans.

Excellent Fans! Power saving, seem to be durable. Easy to install & great temperature control.I bought these to replace two fans from a ID-COOLING FROSTFLOW X 240 CPU Water Cooler setup. Those fans have sleeve bearings and in a horizontal setup, they would get noisy and make "grinding" noises on occaison.This Silent Wings fans have Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) technology, which offers up to 300,000 hours of lifespan while reducing vibrations significantly and are much more superior construction.

The instructions manual is hidden under the fan package , come with 2 sizes of the mounting and the screws in the accessories box.Depend on which mounting you prefer , installation was very easy and quiet

These are quiet compared to my ten year old but unused 120mm Corsair fans. the tighter tolerances of the fan blades to the shroud move plenty of air at slower speeds. The black is more matte than most black fans and the connection cord is better integrated than other fans Ihave bought in the past.
