Value for money MP3 Player
I must be honest and say that this is a very tiny MP3 player but as they say, size doesn't matter, which is clearly the case with this. After reading through the set up pages in the instruction manual, I found it quite easy to set up and transfer my music collection and because you can add extra storage by way of a Micro SD card, space shouldn't be a problem. The sound/tone can be easily adjusted to your liking by using either the easy options, like pop, jazz, rock, classic, etc or the equaliser settings, whichever suits you best, you can also very easily add additional folders to store your favourite music, video, E-books, games, photos. As I have not tried using the radio I cannot comment on this feature, I would also say that watching video playback would be difficult because of the screen size, however, the Kubic Evo does deliver on sound, which for me is all I wanted. The provided earphones are not very good so I would recommend using/purchasing some of better quality to enjoy your music. Battery life is quite good and charges very quick although if you don't have a PC handy you'll have to either purchase a charger, which can be purchased cheaply from Amazon. I also purchased the soft leather case that's also available from Amazon, it really is a good quality little case, I was genuinely surprised how well made it is.

Good value for money
If you want a great mp3 player, small and reliable go for Sansa Clip + I had one and loved it, but it was stolen. I came to buy a replacement, but they did not deliver any of the low priced to Finland any more, and after a year I did not want to pay for the same model more money! Do not get me wrong, it was worth 80e but I just do not spend more if I know they sell it for less. So I have looked around, and decided to go with this one. And I do not regret it. The screen is horrible. You see nothing in direct sunlight. And even in just a bright day. But I usually just listen to music, so it does not bother me much. The sound quality seems OK, but after years of mp3 players, I guess I am a bit death. So maybe others are a better judge on this. It looks cheap, but I have it over half a year now, and it dropped many time, got thrown to my bag, met my keys, and it is still working great. The menu could use a bit more logic. You need so many steps to do some things. But again, I usually just turn it on and listen. The battery life is great. Easily get two days of music which would be 14h You can watch tiny videos, if you want to convert them, and I actually used it on a long plane travel. It was nice to have a couple of my TV series converted. Very handy when you want to watch some reruns. But it is just a fun bonus you might use a few times. The ebook reading is just a catch phrase, but it was also cool to keep a text file backup with my travel info on there. Good device and I am happy with it. Also like very much that it is very thin, and despite the bigger size (than clip+) it still feels great in your pocket. If you just want to listen to music, it is the best thing money can buy. If you want something with good screen, and a good menu, go with Sansa Clip+, 8GB goes for 34.10 (23.11.2012)

Microsoft FTW!: function, sound quality, ease, size, possibilities and nice phonetics: what's in a name!
This is a really interesting bit of kit! It's so tiny and light you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a Christmas cracker gift... so I got the case with it luckily so I wouldn't lose it! I bought an extra 8GB miniSD card for extra storage so I have 16GB which is a LOT when it comes to mp3 files... SOUND QUALITY is QUALITY! I have an album on here I've been listening to since I was 14 on vinyl and mp3 various devices, and I heard percussion with this kubik that I never knew existed, sound is sharp, stereo, and so rounded, it's amazing! Not played anything quite at full volume yet, and it's loud enough for me with the headfones provided... The navigation is pretty bizarre, not like an average mp3 player but like your PC, folder directories etc which is sort of familiar and good but also seems a bit excessive (but then I only want this for music, while it is kitted out with capabilities for auto scrolling ebooks etc which is pretty cool) The navigation is taking me a little getting used to, I'm starting to realise that with certain combinations the top left vol button is basically like a right click on a mouse and it's starting to come together... there is a function to pick up listening where you left off but you have to read the manual for that one... I am really happy with this, the price was a bit more than I wanted to pay for *only* 8GB of storage, but it seems like a well built, nice wee computer rather than a basic mp3, so I am sure it's multi capabilities will be of interest in the future beyond the music... I think it was good value for money, it's aesthetically cute, and fits in the palm of your hand easily, hardly there weightwise... You can drag and drop files in like any directory on your computer or use windows media player to create playlists and convert tracks to mp3 before uploading. SO easy to use, no bloatware slugging your computer along! Recommended for AWESOME sound quality, capabilities and music management (drag and drop or windows media player, so simple!!!) I also like the name, as a useless aside! It reminds me of KUBRIK obviously but also Philip K Dick's "UBIK", which is nice. Will have to read it again just incase there's an connection... will let you know!

Doese what we wanted
I bought this product as a Christmas present for my wife, her only stipulations were that it stores enough music, easy to use, not too expensive and small enough to carry out walking. As complete novices to MP3 players still living in the CD age, we did struggle a bit with down loading music but once I found a magnifying glass to read the instructions I managed to load the music which is actually quite simple. The sound quality is good and with 8GB of storage space I doubt we have enough music to fill it up. It takes a little while to get used to the functions as the buttons are used for multiple tasks, which can be a bit frustrating. My wife found the instruction manual a little confusing, and it could certainly have been in bigger print. It does feel a bit fragile, but all in all it pretty much covers my wife's requirements.

Very disapointing.
After spending a good 6 hours trying to get this product to work I have finally given up and am awaiting a return slip. I accept that there are many good reviews for this product but as someone who is fairly computer literate, I now really hate this product. Initially it accepted 4 albums synced with Windows Media player but while the file names appeared on the device, it would not play these unprotected WMA files (one of the accepted file types). It would not allow me to delete them either, you could delete them form the folder while the USB was attached but they would then reappear when you turned the Evo back on. I then tried to sync more music in both MP3 and WMA formats, none of which worked and then dragged and dropped them onto the Evo drive on My Computer as you would a USB stick but when turning the Evo on again, they would not appear. I think I have spent enough time trying to get this unit to work and will be looking for something else as I now have an 9 year old daughter who bought it with her own birthday money in tears. I'm not sure if I have a faulty unit or if my PC is set up in some way which is incompatible with the Evo but as every other music device (I have 4), camera (I have 6) and USB memory stick / Memory card (I have over 30) works fine, I can only come to the conclusion the Evo is at fault. UPDATE 30.10.14. It's now 6 weeks since the Evo went back and ARC have taken approximately 3 weeks to check there PO BOX (which they insist it be returned to) and another 3 weeks without actually crediting me back due to a "Technical problem". I have now had to go through Amazon's complaints procedure nearly 8 weeks after first ordering this product. Currently I am without product or refund. I get the impression, when the Evo works, it is a nice little unit, a bit "plasticky" but my daughter liked the look of it and it seemed to work well with the first few songs pre-installed on it. If you get a faulty one however, ARC will respond to your e-mails but take forever to get to a resolution. Certainly my most disappointing Amazon purchase experience in the last 4 years of using them. UPDATE Nov 14. Finally gave up on getting money back from ARC so put claim in through AMAZON and as usual, the issue was resolved in a few days. Money now back on my credit card but no thanks to ARC who seem to delay things to the point where many people might just give up.

love it
This is a great little mp3 player with built in radio, you can also use a micro sd card with it so you can expand its memory, very easy to navigate the menu. I got this for the wife as I have it in black, I am on my third as I keep breaking the screen but thats my fault as I work in the construction industry and I am not very careful with mine, they still work you just can't see anything, but for the price I really don't mind, the sound is extremely good for something this cheap. Listening to the radio the battery will last about 16 hours but listen to mp3 and this rises to about 36 hours so no need to charge every night, small and light to carry in any pocket. I would recommend this mp3 player. Did you know that in Finland. Taxi drivers must pay royalties if they play music in their cars for paying customers.

Great little player!
Have only awarded four stars as the earphones supplied are rubbish! (Sound is lifeless, dull, & muffled!!) Please KUBIK, for a few more pounds supply decent phones! You are spoiling a good product!! This is the first mp3 player I have bought and used so did not want to spend vast amounts on a <FRUITY.> product. I bought this for my partner, who is well into her music, as a birthday present. I cannot fault this item at all, so easy to use and downloading from Windows Media Player is a doddle for someone like me with no experience. I bought a set of SONY earphones to replace the awful ones supplied by KUBIC and the sound quality and volume are now tremendous. I have also bought a 8GB microSD card to enlarge the capacity to 16GB and for the price I think this is a bargain. I would have preferred the Black/Orange version(out of stock)as the Pink/White one looks a bit cheap to me, but after buying pink earphones to go with it, my partner is well pleased(girly thing!!) It is very lightweight and the plastic quality is probably not up there with the leading brand, so I also have now purchased a leather case for it and suspect it will now endure any mistreatment! The player also includes a radio and video player which are an added bonus. All in all I think you cannot go wrong with this item considering its low price and ease of use.

The screen display does not look as good in real life as it does in the pictures
I found the controls a little confusing. For example the instructions say to turn it on by pushing and holding the "on/off" button, but none of the buttons are labelled as "on/off". You have to check the button diagram in the instructions to figure that out. Generally speaking I found navigation a bit clunky. The screen display does not look as good in real life as it does in the pictures. It is much more pixellated and feels much smaller/lower resolution. The first time I loaded it with music all went well. Then my daughter (who I bought it for) wanted me to remove some albums and put some others on. I had a lot of trouble getting it to mount on my Windows PC. Eventually it worked though and I was able to remove the unwanted music. I still need to rip the CDs she wants now though :P The music quality was not great, especially at the higher volumes that it seems to default to. There may be some settings on the thing that I can change to improve it. Better headphones might help too. I haven't really experimented. In summary, it does the job and it is a reasonable price. But it isn't a fantastic piece of gear. I don't really understand why decent MP3 players are so expensive and even ยฃ30 doesn't get a very good one. My wife gets free phones on her contract every year or two (which she then gives every other one to me) which have better sound quality etc. as well as all the usual functionality of a phone and aren't much bigger, and aren't that much more expensive to buy new despite having built in wireless/GPS/mobile phone/etc. etc. EDIT: Downrated because after I loaded in two albums of music by the same band I found that 1) When listing music by artist, it didn't then make a list by album, and 2) When you play back an album, the songs are all mixed around, despite having the track number as 2 digits at the start of the filename (thus making alphabetical sorting correct).
