MiniCity Book Nook Kit, DIY Miniature Dollhouse Booknook Kit with Led Light and Dust Cover (Beyond Library Max)

I love these book nooks and this one was probably my top 5 build out of 20. The quality was great. The instructions were easy to follow and it was so much fun! There are a few pieces that were very delicate but that's too be expected. The final outcome was beautiful! I made a couple of oopsies and totally my fault by jumping the gun but it was easy to correct. The lighting is perfect. I would definitely recommend for any book nook enthusiast!!!

This is not necessarily a "beginner" build, but it was very easy to build. Everything snapped together beautifully! I think I only used the glue to reinforce some joints. The double sided film is annoying but eh... The glue was a good one even if I didn't use much. It's pricey but so worth it! MiniCity is one of the best brands I've built. Would definitely buy from them again.

This takes a long time to assemble but it is easy and really detailed. I am so happy I bought this. I worked on it for a week several hours a day until I got it done. I would recommend moving the button to turn it on. The directions say to put it in the ceiling but I moved it to where the battery is so it is easy to access and you don't have to remove the glass. I really had fun building this and definitely plan on getting more.

Awesome, well designed kit. Having lots of fun assembling it. For those who like a creative challenge, this is the kit.

I've built quite a few wood models and I have to say this is probably my favorite. The wood is thicker and more sturdy than the other models I've built. The fit of the pieces is very tight and very little glue is needed. The finished piece is great and I've had a lot of compliments on it from friends and family. It's a fairly easy build and suitable for beginners.

I have built this kit twice. It is my personal favorite book nook. There are many good things about this particular kit to recommend it. Firstly, it is a MiniCity product, and that always means it will be a quality item. The MiniCity book nook kits all come with quality glue, a tack hammer, useful metal tweezers, a sanding file, and a detailed full-color large format instruction manual. Other kits at the same price point do not include all of these items, or have much weaker instruction manuals. Many of their kits also can be downloaded so you can zoom in on illustration. They also provide an email address for free replacement parts and other support. I have no relationship with MiniCity, but I have built many book nooks by them and by other companies, and find that they are a top provider. Yes, I am a fan of their products! I appreciate that the "book with pages" that need to be accordion folded have the pages scored to make the folding easier. This has been a real pain to so in the past with stickers and no scoring. The umbrella you need to fold is similarly scored to simplify its creation. The LED lights have color-coded wires that simplifies identifying which light to select when wiring them. There is a full inventory list at the start of the manual, and each section of the instruction highlights the board to be used in that stage of assembly. The finished prodcut is unique and striking. Recommended project.

This is my 3rd book nook, and creatively it’s my favorite that I’ve done and also the most “sturdy.” Constructing the sunken ships took the longest. The materials are really well made, and it was such a fun project to do! The glue is pretty good, but the fog on the dust cover is from the glue, and it wipes off easily. The lighting is so cool, it creates a storm effect with the clouds. Definitely not a starter set, but great for someone who loves to be creative!

This is my fourth such kit that I have assembled, and as a whole I have enjoyed the process while at times resisting the urge to take a hammer and smash the whole thing. On this particular kit, I noticed (after installing the first part-a somewhat rickety staircase) that some of the slots where things must be placed on the floor of the kit do not go all the way through. In this case, I cannot simply apply a little pressure and pop them out. The cut is so shallow that it does not appear on the bottom of the piece. If I had noticed this in the beginning, I think the fix would have been easier before attaching the steps and back wall. I am concerned that my attempts will damage the floor and the carpeting removing some of the print if I don’t get it just right. Also, with this particular kit, there was a strong, unpleasant smell, initially. It has largely dissipated after setting out for several days on my table. Lastly, I am not a fan of the notching on the little tabs that insert into other pieces. I prefer the uncut ones that may require more pressure, but stay together more consistently.
