Makes that are tasty, healthy and quick to make
I love Ella’s recipes as they are easy to source ingredients for, healthy, tasty and don’t take long to make at the end of the day. I’ve been making Ella’s recipes for years now and just love their simplicity. They also inspire me to adapt and make up my own versions.

Delicious and inspiring - a beautiful cook book for anyone wanting to up their veg intake.
I was waiting excitedly for this new Deliciously Ella book to be released and it has not disappointed. I have been blown away by the recipes and am so excited about all the things that I can cook from it. Every recipe has a photo and it is divided into really handy sections -Breakfast, Salads, Falafel,Burger and Dips etc. I am not vegan, or even vegetarian, but I love food and cooking, and, like many people, I have become increasingly interested in incorporating more plant based meals into my daily life and that of my family. We now eat vegan food at least a couple of times a week, but what is fantastic is that these recipes can also sit really easily alongside meat or dairy, if you so choose. The salads and spiced peanut sweet potatoes seem particularly adaptable to sit alongside grilled chicken or halloumi. I love the way that Ella uses layers and combinations of dishes in her recipes, so a meal could be a few dishes put together giving taste and texture variation. For example, last night we had the Rainbow Salad with the Smoky Aubergine Dip on the side. I cannot express how truly delicious this was! None of the dip was left at all (the bowl scraped clean) and a small amount of the salad went in the fridge, which I am looking forward to for lunch today! Also, it was so easy to put together. I had baked the aubergine earlier in the day, but everything else I did in around half an hour before eating. It was just a question of making sure that I had all of the lovely fresh ingredients in the house. Having dips on the side is a revelation for me! I'm looking forward to trying the Creamy Artichoke and Edameme Dip soon and the Sri Lankan Curry tonight! Over all I think this book is fantastic, particularly if you want to increase you veg intake. It has enlightened me as to the variations possible in vegan/plant based cooking. I previously thought of nut roasts and boring, dreary dishes. Deliciously Ella has set me straight. I think my family will be much healthier with this book in our lives (Ella states that just 27% of the UK population is eating their five-a-day and I totally agree that we need to make fruit and veg seem delicious, exciting and easy). Even my children are eating more veg thanks to this book and other of Ella's recipes. I am not totally sure about the sweet stuff, as I am not vegan, I'm not sure that I will try baking without eggs and butter, but never say never! I really do like the look of her Mango and Coconut Flapjacks though, as they have so much less sugar in them and I think my children will like them. I have one other of Deliciously Ella's books, which I have used a fair amount and enjoyed, but this seems like it must be her best yet. I very rarely write reviews, so the fact that I have chosn to today I think speaks volumes. Basically I would highly recommend this book!

Overall a good cookbook
My wife has an auto-immune disorder that she keeps under control largely through diet and Deliciously Ella has been a huge resource and inspiration for her over the past few years. She was so excited about this new cookbook and so I bought it for her as a surprise. To start with, the cookbook design is lovely -- there are big glossy images for every recipe and the pages are colour coded for each section making it quite easy to flip through. While not of particular interest to me, my wife did enjoy the journal entries at the beginning of each chapter and the ability to learn more about Ella's journey, particularly the trials and tribulations. As we run our own bakery and cafe, it was heartening to know that someone as successful as Ella has challenges just like everyone else. It made her story all the more inspiring. I like that there is a wide spectrum of recipes and that most are fairly simple and inexpensive to throw together quickly. There are some that certainly require a little more planning and would be suitable for a fancy dinner as well. It seems a good range. As to the recipes themselves, we have only made a few so perhaps our impression will change as we go on and if so we will certainly update the review. The salads have been delicious, but often the photos depict ingredients that are not listed in the recipe itself, which is a little confusing. The Spicy Miso Aubergine salad has cucumbers pictured -- not listed in the ingredients or recipe intro. The turmeric spiced cauliflower salad has what looks like caramelized onions or leeks in the photo (which would have been a really nice addition actually) -- again not listed in the ingredients. It's a little thing, but the kind of thing that annoys me when I am comparing my finished product to the photo and thinking that something is missing. The one area we have often been left down in past Deliciously Ella cookbooks is the baked goods. In her earliest cookbooks, they are stodgy and (in my opinion) barely edible. I have been enjoying some of her more recent recipes on her blog and app, however, so felt hopeful about the baking options in this new cookbook. The first thing that my wife noted was that many of the recipes in this book are extremely high in sugar. Yes it is usually maple syrup or coconut sugar, but in many recipes the amount of sugar is actually higher than you might see in a more traditional baking recipe (400 or more grams for a cake for instance). Also, many of the cakes and things call for up to two cups of maple syrup. That makes for not only very sugary baking, but also very expensive baking as well. All in all, it doesn't seem necessary to use that much sugar and still make a great tasting cake. The descriptions in the baking recipes can also be a little unclear. Many times the recipe calls for one to "pour the batter" into a pan when the batter is actually quite dry and solid. I am being nit-picky but this can definitely give you pause and make you think perhaps you went wrong somewhere. I like it when recipes tell me what my mixture should look like. Perhaps I have just had bad luck (though I am doubtful as I am a baker by trade), but thus far the brownies and two of the muffin recipes have come out quite close textured and dry. They have lovely flavors, but you will want to have a good mug of tea on hand to get them down. I noticed that almost all of the baking recipes require a quite high oven temp (200 degrees C) which perhaps is due to the plant based nature of the recipes. I have never in my life baked a muffin at that temperature before and pulled the blueberry muffins a good 10 minutes before time or else they would have been burnt to cinders. The banana bread was better but basically would fall apart in my hand it was so soft. I do see a lot of positive reviews of the baking recipes here so again, maybe I am just having bad luck here or maybe my standards are too high. All in all, I think this is an inspiring cookbook with lots of recipes I look forward to trying. However, I don't think I will be using it very often for baking.

The sexiest veg you could hope for (and don’t get me started on the brownies!)
I’m a meat-eater looking to sex up veggies a bit and this book is exactly what I was hoping for. I bought Ella’s first book and loved some of the recipes but it felt a little too stringently healthy for me. This book is joyful; it celebrates veg in all its technicolour glory and the recipes are accessible to those of us with an averagely stocked larder (although I have just splurged on maple syrup and coconut sugar). As Ella says herself in the introductory chapters, now her own health is so much better, she’s enjoying experimenting with different flour etc and this freedom shows in the recipes. It feels very inclusive - you can take exactly what you want from the book - and getting us all to smash our five a day quota has got to be a good thing. I’ve read the book cover to cover (cracking pics, lovely lay out and honest, informative forewords to each chapter) and have made three recipes today - the granola, the brownies and the Sri Lankan curry. All absolutely delicious and very easy to make. My carnivore husband is usually a bit sniffy if he notices an absence of meat but he too declared the curry delicious. And we can’t stop picking at the brownies - so fudgy and moreish. Spiced peanut sweet potatoes and smoky aubergine dip are next on the cards. I’m excited already. Boring boiled broc is banished and my kitchen (and tummy) are a happier place because of it. Highly recommend the book to all, vegans and carnivores alike. Thanks Ella.

The BEST cookbook ever for Plant Based Eating!
I bought all of Ella's cookbooks but this cookbook has to be my favourite! I put it beside my bed and really enjoyed reading every page of this book. It is so personal and made the recipes so much more special. I received it yesterday and quickly went straight to the sweet section as ive been dying for the deli's brownie recipe. I have made it twice because it was such a hit and my, this has to be the best brownie recipe ever! Just like what I tasted at the deli so you can be sure all these recipes work!! I have also halved the recipes of the Victoria Sponge and Carrot Cake and baked them into 2 X 16" pans and they are so fluffy and delicious!! I have plans to now cook through the salad and stew sections because everything sounds so yummy especially the cornbread and chilli! This book is so pretty and is definitely a must for anyone who is looking to eat more plant based foods like me although im not a vegetarian. It will convert you as the recipes inside are all very simple, accessible and delicious!! Thank you, Ella!!

A Mixed Bag.
There are a quite a few recipes there are wonderful--worth the price of the book alone--but there are others that need tweaking or a miss entirely. I'm also not on board with replacing every ingredient with the 'natural' version, like expensive coconut sugar or maple syrup instead of golden caster. I appreciate the sentiment, but if you're on a budget, or don't want to spend £15 on ingredients for a cake (that will fail), I'd look for substitutes before beginning. The recipes I've tried: 5* Favourite: Tumeric Spiced Cauliflower, Lentil, and Tahini Salad - I could very easily sit down and eat an entire giant bowl of this. I took it to a BBQ, only took a small portion, intending to go get seconds. When I went back, it was all gone. I find the dressing needs a small splash of water to keep it from being too thick, but NBD. The Great: Courgette, Celeriac and Peanut Noodles - again, dressing needs a bit more liquid, but lovely salad. Buckwheat pancakes - different, especially for someone used to normal pancakes, but tasty. Not a fan of the chocolate sauce, however. Courgette and Red Pepper Muffins - This one comes with a big caveat. Two medium courgettes is too much; stick with one, otherwise the dough will be far too wet and won't bake through properly. I was puzzled by the note at the bottom to be careful of the amount of Romano pepper due to water content, when there is more courgette in weight and it's mostly water. One medium courgette is plenty, and makes really lovely, high-rising muffins. Mushroom and Chestnut Sliders - a good all-round burger sub. Peanut Butter Slices - A crowd-pleaser for any sweet peanut butter fans. I let the dates dry out a bit more using, otherwise they were too sticky to blend with the other ingredients. The OK: Coconut Chia Pudding - tastes good, but put off by the 65g of chia seeds when the chia seed packet says to limit daily intake to 15g to avoid GI distress. I've thus far avoided using the full amount; I'm sure it will gel better if I'm ever feeling brave. Corn Chowder - tasty, but not worth the work or energy (mine or oven's) involved in making it. Spiced Peanut Sweet Potatoes - Again, tasty, but following the instructions, the sweet potatoes end up too soft and mushy for a salad. I'll try again and cook them longer, hoping them to dehydrate a bit more. Almond and Blueberry Cakes - the taste here almost entirely relies on the blueberries, so make sure you pick good ones. Brownies - meh Never Again: Almond Cake with Mango Icing - not sure what happened with this one. Ingredients cost about £15. It fell to pieces. Friends politely said, "The taste reminds me of a brewery."

The best plant-based cookbook to own!
in love with this cookbook! I’ve always loved plant-based foods but never really knew how to turn them into main meals or desserts. I came across the Deliciously Ella app earlier this year and fell in love with it. My husband who isn’t vegan has even started to enjoy the meals I cook from the app and isn’t complaining there’s no meat! And if he does start to crave a bit of meat, they can easily be added to the recipes (they are all super versatile). I had no doubt that this cookbook would be wonderful...and I was right! It’s so well laid out and colour-coded with beautiful photographs beside each recipe and the recipes themselves are easy to read (straight and to the point) which means less time faffing about trying to figure out when to cook what and how. I just tried out the Sri Lankan curry recipe and it’s so good. In addition the book gives you a behind the scenes account of how Deliciously Ella came about as well as her personal experience/diary which is a beautiful touch. Can’t wait to try out the other recipes!

Quite useless
Half the book is just rubbish written about herself-which isnt what i wanted. If all you want to really eat is curry, soup or cakes-thats fine.not one quiche, omelette,or flan.lots of ingredients that you would only have one recipe for .I shouldn't have bothered
