This literally saved my relationship. My fella, after 6 years decided that the clock in our bedroom was too loud with its ticking... Not sure why it took him 6 years to be bothered by it, or why it bothered him so much seeing as he likes all the windows open and hates me for not allowing the bedroom window open at night because I'd rather not listen to traffic, domestics and scrapping cats but it doesn't bother him because he sleeps like an ACTUAL stone.... so much so, he sleepwalks, sleep talks, sleep fights, has driven to work asleep after getting up at 3am, slept through severe thunder and lightening storms, slept through our kids creating mayhem due to being terrified in the night, slept through police chases outside, slept through fist fights outside our house yada yada, and also because he literally falls asleep in 2 minutes and commences snoring like an actual hog immediately, leaving me to listen to him all night whilst plotting his death, because I am the worst sleeper ever and can't sleep through animal noises, or any noise at all in fact... Apart from a very gentle, soothing ticking clock, which apparently is far more intolerable than hog snoring or outside noise from a very urban area. Oh no... The 6 year old clock was now NOT acceptable. So we had a few weeks of him angrily dismantling the thing in the dark, and then putting it back up every morning at the wrong time, making me late for my school run, repeat each night etc. Then he decided it was better to tolerate the ticking than the fumes off me, so rode in the bedroom like the White Knight he is and declared it could go back up on the wall... For good. This lasted approximately 3 whole minutes during the night, before he got up and started smashing the life out of it again. Anyway, he slept downstairs that night for the sheer gaslighting'ness of himself, before I literally moved myself out of the house permanently... All because of a CLOCK. Anyway, while he was in his dog bed downstairs, i pondered the choice of moving out and my new life with a non-hog, clock tolerating 6.5ft stunner, ORRRR if there was such a magical thing as a silent mechanism that you could replace an existing mechanism with, and LOW AND BEHOLD, Amazon answers my midnight Google pondering with this little beauty at the top of the results. It was almost identical in design/look as my existing one, bar a very long seconds arm which was easily trimmed, and I removed the old one and fit this one in a mere 60 seconds. You cannot hear it at all.... I just stare at it gliding around in content amazement that i wasted so many awake hours plotting death and massive flouncey arguments when I could've saved myself so much anger and pain with this little miracle. So the man now sleeps until his heart's content, and I just go back to lying there failing to be able to get to sleep every night because the snoring is now completely uninhibited by the distraction of a clock tick. Marvellous!

the product works perfectly

The mechanism keeps really good time, it was easy to put together, but hands were flimsy hence sore of 4 stars. It was worth the money, it runs silently, hand needed to be bent so they didnt touch. So ok for the money x

I needed a replacement clock mechanism as our bedroom clock had started making enough noise to disturb our sleep. Looking through the listings on Amazon I noticed quite a few 'silent' mechanisms but reviews seemed to be quite negative. I took a gamble and chose this item thinking that at £5.29 it was worth the risk. I'm so glad I did. Not only is it well made and easy to fit, it is as silent as the grave. In fact, I'm so impressed I bought another and replaced a noisy ticking mechanism in a wall clock - peace reigns now!

Bought as a replacement for a clock that I had where the time had started to go slow. I was going to bin it and buy another, but thought this would be a much more cost effective option, and I did love the clock. My partner couldn't stand the ticking of the old clock so I needed a silent version. I wasn't expecting this to be as quiet as it is- it is actually completely silent. Not a sound from it, even with your ear right up at it. It was really easy to assemble, and fit through the same hole that was on the clock for the other movement, and you just screw the pieces on in the order specified. Set the time using the wheel at the back, pop a battery in, and away you go! Size of the hands was perfect for my clock face, but you can trim these if required. Accurate time, which hasn't needed any adjusting since I put it up. Would recommend.

Excellent product & great value

Replacement movement for one whose battery had leaked and caused the clock to fail. Replacement was easy and worked perfectly. Be careful not to bend the hands while fitting, as they are light and easily distorted.

Product purchased on 07/09/24. At first worked perfectly and was satisfied. Now had the product for 3 months and going to need to buy a replacement. The clock is losing time at rate of 10 minutes a week. We have replaced batteries a couple of times. Unfortunately we threw away the packaging and cannot contact manufacturer direct so they haven't had opportunity to rectify (tip - retain the packaging). I appreciate other people have been satisfied so we may have just been unlucky. I am willing to update review if company is able to contact me direct to resolve.

C’est le mécanisme qui m’intéressait pour restaurer une grande horloge murale. Les aiguilles heures et minutes n’étant pas dans le style de mon horloge, j’ai donc récupérer les anciennes en bricolant un peu pour les fixer aux axes centraux. Fonctionne très bien et l’heure est juste

El producto vino correctamente embalado y protegido. Fácil de colocar, viene con instrucciones(que no son necesarias, pero está bien que las lleve). Como las agujas son muy delicadas, mejor ejercer una ligera presión en el centro, para evitar que las agujas se doblen ligeramente. Viene con un juego de agujas de recambio. Éstas se pueden recortar sin problema si fuera necesario, pues en mi caso no las necesitaba tan largas. Es absolutamente silencioso. La aguja del segundero no marca segundo a segundo, si no que tiene un movimiento continuo. Hace sólo una semana que lo he recibido y de momento no se ha retrasado nada.

Es muy silencioso, el avance de la aguja del segundero en continua y no a saltos y usa pilas AAA, mas faciles de encontrar que la AA.
