Garmin fēnix® 8, 43mm, Whitestone

I LOVE my Garmin watch. I was never excited about any smart watches until I found this one. I am very active in lots of different activities. I bought this watch to train for my first triathlon and it worked awesome. I still don't use many of the features but the ones I do are perfect and easy to use. The battery life is great. I charge it once a week in about 1 hour. It helps me track my steps, sleep, workouts, runs and stress level. There are even workuts that can be used in the app/watch. I bought the smalles screen size because I have small wrists. The watch is very durable...with all I do, it could have broken by now but it has not and doesn't even have any scratches.

Worth every penny. Outside of the robust features, the flashlight is my most used utility. Highly recommend the 43mm over larger sizes as it’s still pretty big, but not overwhelming and sits very comfortable.

Everything I hoped for in a smart watch/fitness tracker. Coming from an Apple Watch, this is so much better for health and fitness tracking. It is much more capable with many additional metrics. The battery lasts about a week with some tracking going all the time and wearing it 24 hours a day. It connects through Bluetooth and WiFi. It is easy to use either by the buttons or touchscreen. I recommend the 43mm for those with smaller wrists. I originally bought the 47mm and it was big, but not enormous on my wrist. I went down a size for additional comfort and lighter weight when mountain biking. It looks clean and sophisticated. While it is rather expensive, even for a smart watch, Garmin has a good name for lasting years.

I’ve owned this watch for more than a year now, and I have very mixed feelings about it. The version I have is the 43mm, and as you can see, I gave it 3 out of 5 stars—not because it’s a bad watch or because my overall experience with it has been bad. My biggest issue, and one that is very important to me, is how it measures heart rate, especially during strength training at the gym. When I work out, I wear my old Apple Watch (6th generation) on my right wrist, and I’ve noticed that the Fenix 8 consistently struggles to read my heart rate accurately. It often takes a while to catch up and recognize that my heart rate has increased. In comparison, my Apple Watch quickly picks up the increase in heart rate. Because of this, I feel the Fenix 8 doesn’t capture my peak heart rate as well as it should, and it also misses some of the periods when my heart rate is elevated during a workout. I contacted customer service about this. They were responsive and helpful, but unfortunately, they couldn’t solve the problem. With my permission, they looked at my watch data and acknowledged that the watch was struggling to read my heart rate. They recommended wearing the watch higher up on my wrist. I’ve been doing that, and while it may have helped a little, it hasn’t solved the issue. With all that said, the Fenix 8 is still a great watch with a lot of functionality. The maps are extremely helpful when I’m hiking, backpacking, or spending time in the backcountry, and I really like the amount of information and data it provides for different activities. And did I mention the battery? The battery life is amazing, at least in my experience. It usually lasts almost a week with normal use, and I can still get around three days when using it heavily on long hikes or backpacking trips. In the end, the heart rate issue is really the only thing that has disappointed me. For a watch at this price point, I expected the heart rate tracking to be much better—especially when my $100 Apple Watch can consistently do a better job of detecting my heart rate during strength training.

I've been using this watch for two days now, and I absolutely LOVE it! The size is perfect—even on my small wrist, it looks sleek and feels just right. It's not too big or bulky, and I can easily read notifications, which is a big improvement for me. I upgraded from a Venu 2s, which had become difficult to see with my eyesight. The speaker is on the quieter side, so if you’re planning to use the watch primarily for phone calls, it might not be ideal. That said, it's perfectly usable in a pinch—like when I’m washing dishes and need to answer a call from my daughter without missing it. The band is comfortable, and the screen protectors fit so well that they look like part of the watch face. There’s definitely a learning curve and quite a bit of setup involved, but I’ll update this review if needed as I get more familiar with all the features (theres A LOT). Is it worth the $899 price tag? Honestly, it might be a bit overpriced—but what isn't these days? Still, it’s a solid upgrade and absolutely worth it to me.

Alles is geweldig. Het horloge is fantastisch. Het enige minpuntje is dat de batterij veel kleiner is dan die van het model van mijn man. Deze gaat 7 dagen mee, terwijl die van mijn man 16 dagen meegaat. Bovendien was mijn horloge 100 euro duurder. Voor de rest is alles prima.

Fijn horloge klein kwa diameter maar wel wat hoog.

I got motivated to move and make exercises just by having this watch. Didn't expect that one day i will have my free coach and knowing this ton of information of my health, life quality
