Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) Wayfarer
Sleek, comfortable, and unmistakably classic. The shiny black finish looks premium and resists scuffs; the frames feel sturdy without being heavy. Lens clarity is excellent and the fit is comfortable for long wear. I was able to get my prescription added easily, and the prescription lenses match the original quality and look. Stylish, durable, and perfect for everyday use.

Premium Smart Glasses with Great Camera and Everyday Usability
These Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses feel premium and well-built, just like classic Wayfarers but with modern smart features. The fit is comfortable for daily wear, and they don’t feel bulky even with the built-in tech. The 12 MP camera is surprisingly good for quick photos and videos, and it’s very convenient for capturing moments hands-free. Audio quality is clear for calls and listening to music, and the voice assistant features work smoothly for basic tasks. Battery life is decent for a full day of casual use, though heavier recording drains it faster. Overall, they’re a great blend of style and smart functionality for everyday use and content creation.

Ray-Ban Meta Glasses Review – Stylish, Functional, and Packed with Tech
I recently purchased two pairs of Ray-Ban Meta glasses—one with transition lenses and one with polarized lenses—and they’ve been a game changer for my daily life and content creation. Here’s a breakdown of my experience with both pairs and their features: What I Loved • Hands-Free Content Creation: These glasses have made it incredibly easy to record high-quality videos while keeping my hands free. As a content creator, I love giving my audience a first-person view of what I’m doing, and the ease of snapping photos or shooting videos on the go is unmatched. • Stylish and Discreet Design: The Wayfarer style is a timeless classic, and over 99% of people won’t even realize these are smart glasses. I get all the benefits of advanced tech without sacrificing style. • Polarized Lens Quality: The clarity of the polarized lenses is unreal. They block out the sun beautifully, especially in Florida’s intense sunlight, and make driving feel sharper and more vibrant. • Immersive Sound Quality: Listening to music and taking calls without earbuds is an incredible experience. The sound is immersive, theater-like, and subtle enough that people nearby won’t hear it. I even had a crystal-clear call with my dad, and he had no idea I was using glasses for audio! The Cons • Transition Lenses Fall Short Outdoors: While they’re great indoors, the transition lenses don’t adapt quickly enough to the Florida sun and don’t block out glare as effectively as polarized lenses. If you need strong sun protection, go for the polarized option. • “Hey Meta” Feature is a Letdown: This was the biggest disappointment. The voice assistant is unreliable and drains the battery rapidly. For example, when I asked it to delete a video, it looped endlessly without actually doing it. It also struggled with recognizing objects—I asked about a man-made mountain, and it gave me a completely inaccurate answer. I’ve since turned this feature off. • Battery Life with “Hey Meta”: With the assistant on, the battery drained by 10% for a 3-minute video. Turning it off drastically improved performance—only 1% battery drain for the same recording length. If you want the glasses to last all day, keep “Hey Meta” off. • Fit Needed Adjustments: Out of the box, the glasses were slightly heavy and slid down my nose. Adding nose pads resolved the issue and made them much more comfortable for extended wear. Overall Thoughts These glasses excel in hands-free convenience, exceptional call quality, and immersive sound, all wrapped in a stylish, discreet design. While the “Hey Meta” feature fell short and the battery life could be better with it enabled, turning it off made a world of difference. If you’re looking for stylish smart glasses that deliver high-quality content creation and audio, I highly recommend these—especially the polarized lenses. They’ve exceeded my expectations in so many ways and are now a daily essential for me!

Update 2. Device so useless as to be unbelievable. Software is not ready for Prime Time
This is an update to an update to an update. I’ve officially downgraded these glasses to one star. If the Amazon Gods would only let us use negative values I would be even happier. . After almost 10 days of trying to use these things while on our European vacation, I have to declare them the single most defective, most useless device purchased on Amazon (or anywhere) in a very long time. I normally carry both an iPhone and iPad with me. The software is so kludgy that it never knows where or how to connect. The Ai function does not work at all. Period. No amount of fiddling will make it work. This, in spite of the fact that I’ve tried connecting to the US via a VPN. To make things worse is the fact that you will often, and unknowingly, begin to take either photos or videos. I have some stunning photos of my shoes, the carpet, and the bright blue sky. This all happens as you sit in a lounge chair looking goofy because the LED light, which cannot be disabled, blinks to let people know you seem to prefer a video of your shoes rather than the stunning native scenery. People tend to alternate looking at you as both a pervert and an idiot. Good grief, I can’t wait to send these things back to Amazon. The value of this product should be about $10 and be on the rack in the convention store with the other cheap glasses that are more often stolen than purchased. These glasses are so useless as to be really unbelievable. They will not stay connected to any iOS device. They constantly lose Bluetooth connectivity. It seems the Ai function is not available outside the US as it refuses to work in Europe. The glasses refuse to connect to a European WiFi. Whatever you do. Do NOT believe any of the glowing reviews from the YouTube hucksters who are getting free swag and being paid to tout this product. Take it from me. These glasses are not going to do what you want them to do. Rayban you should be ashamed of lending your good name to a carnival side show barker such as Zuckerberg. So, while everyone is posting somewhat rave reviews, let’s discuss the cons of owning these glasses. I bought these glasses for use both on vacation, as well as an addition to my studio cameras that I use for my Edge Of Innovation channel on YouTube. The software is wonky. Seemingly it will not pair with two iOS devices. For example, you cannot pair the device with both your iPhone and IPad. Once paired there is a goofy, convoluted process to do a full reset of the glasses in order to pair with another device. Speaking of using with an iPad…there is no iPad specific app for the glasses. To use the Meta View app one must use the app as an iPhone app in the enlarged view in the portrait mode. Software this bad from two major companies is simply unacceptable in today’s world. As we all know, there is no love lost between Apple and Meta. This becomes clear when using this device. It is my greatest hope that Apple will create a competing device and Sherlock this device from Meta. I should mention that the only reason this is not a 1-star review is because the glasses themselves are okay as far as actually working as sun glasses.

Worth every penny
These are the coolest things I’ve ever bought. Totally worth it for me, lasts all day even though it says 4 hours. I’ve worn every day for 3 months now and they have only died once while wearing. Pictures are nice quality but it’s the music! I have a literally soundtrack to my life now, especially places wear you can’t have headphones (cheat code). Very comfortable fit. The only difference from Gen 2 is battery life and like I said they last all day for me so I saved 300 bucks!

LOVE THESE!! BUT there’s some pros and cons
I will say, not bad! The camera quality on these is amazing! as far as using the actual glasses itself, it has mostly pros but one con PROS: The meta assistant does its job for sure!! I mostly needed these due to studying for my CCMA stuff and mostly lifestyle changes and even shopping at times. LOVE THEM!! I went to Walmart to get crochet stuff and it helped me keep track of what I’m spending without taking my phone out.i will also say since I’m new to these glasses I actually thought that these glasses was a display(which are the meta rays with a screen). But I’m actually kinda glad they’re not since i feel like as a first time buyer for these, this is a great start!! Since I just got them yesterday there’s many more things I haven’t did yet with these but so far it does its job!! CONS: now this reason is why I’m giving four stars unfortunately.. so I do notice I’ve had some issues when it comes to charging. Idk if it’s maybe the charger I’m using but when I would charge my glasses, the glasses would charge but the case wouldn’t.. so I may have to invest in a different type of charger for my glasses which sucks really bad bc that means for now I can’t charge on the go, but it’s not too much of a big deal if anything I’ll probably need a more powerful charger but then again if we’re able to use any USB-C, then the case should be charging in my opinion. I also wish the glasses came with a charger as well. I had no idea that they didn’t come with one.. hopefully when meta makes more of these they come with chargers atleast. BUT other than that, AMAZINGGGG product definitely would recommend!! And if you do get these just make sure u buy your own charger beforehand!!

great
I am absolutely impressed with the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1) Wayfarer Smart AI Glasses! They combine the classic Ray-Ban style with modern technology in a way that feels innovative and practical. The design is sleek and comfortable, and the shiny black Wayfarer frame looks stylish while still feeling like a traditional pair of sunglasses. The glasses are lightweight enough for everyday wear, and I love that they don't look like typical smart glasses. The smart features are what make these glasses stand out. The built-in camera, audio, and AI capabilities are convenient for capturing moments, listening to music or calls, and getting hands-free assistance throughout the day. The audio quality is impressive, and the ability to interact without constantly reaching for my phone is a great feature. The setup process was simple, and the companion app makes it easy to manage settings and features. The battery life is good for everyday use, although frequent use of the camera and smart features will require more charging. Overall, the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Smart AI Glasses are a great blend of fashion and technology. They are fun, useful, and perfect for anyone who wants smart features without sacrificing style. I would definitely recommend them.

Meta Ray-Ban glasses review from a dad’s perspective
I absolutely LOVE these glasses. The style, the usability, the video, photo, and audio, clarity everything is just incredible! The battery life could get me through an entire day unless I was shooting a lot of video/photo, then I would get around 4hrs. Which isn’t bad especially with the fast charging speed the charging case offers. I really enjoyed being able to capture my kids having fun without fumbling around in my pocket for my phone. Also my kids wouldn’t freeze up and stop what they were doing because they saw me bring my phone out. They barely noticed me taking video with the glasses. They saw the flashing light on the glasses but didn’t think twice about it. I also loved the fact that I still had both hands available to interact with my kids while capturing incredible POV shots. I signed up for the “Early Access” program to gain access to the upcoming features. The live translations feature was a real game changer. Testing it out with some of my Spanish speaking colleagues was fun but it was really useful when I was recently at a Spanish market and I was able to better communicate. Using the glasses to scan QR code or having John Cena (one of the celebrity voices available for Meta AI” answer a question for me while on the go without bringing out my phone was great. The speakers on the glasses are really good as well. I enjoyed being able to take a call or listen to a podcast while walking around without having my AirPods in my ear. Now don’t get me wrong the sound quality is not matched the the AirPods Pros especially when the noise cancellation is on. But for the convenience and comfort of not having something in your ear and still being able to hear it’s a win for me. I ended up going with the large size, which fit me well. BUT my one issue is that the arms are just a tad but snug by the top of the ear. I was able to find some cushions on Amazon which completely rectified the issue. For around $400 after tax I feel that these glasses are a great value for the money. Also depending on the type of Vision insurance you have they may be covered, at least some of the cost. Which makes them an even better deal.
