I'm looking at this from two perspectives: a super nice, classy-looking wristwatch and a smartwatch. I'd say that in the former stakes, this piece has things covered. It looks great and feels like the business. It has a nice stainless body with a clear screen and decent strap. I would swap out the strap for a NATO style fitment. You don't want this class of watch falling from your wrist. When we come to the Smartwatch capabilities then things are less clear. It does the standard stuff you'd expect, but at this price point I'd expect a bit more. The App is OK and free. You do get the brand name, which IMO holds up considerably. So, all in a super classy wristwatch with some added Smartwatch capabilities. TBH, it's probably a good combo for most people who don't go over the top on the sporty requirements. Would recommend.

This is a curious watch offering from a brand that I more closely associated with automotive design. It is aesthetically quite attractive in a classic kind of way, with nicely proportioned bezels and a clean, readable face. It is quite a large watch casing in diameter, but perhaps more noticeable is the thickness of the case - it’s a chunky boy. The provided strap is a tan leather which is visually complementary, but it is quite stiff - hopefully it will soften up over time. This watch is a halfway-house between a traditional analogue watch and a full-on smartwatch. It gives you the option of tracking some activities and it has some optical sensors to track your heart rate during activities. It is also capable of doing sleep tracking but frankly it’s a bit too thick in profile for me to find it comfortable enough to sleep in. In order to utilise this watch properly it needs to be paired up with the companion smartphone app. The app has a few rough edges, including a somewhat tricksy onboarding process, and a watch-hand calibration routine that doesn’t seem to work properly (but you can do it directly on the watch to achieve the correct time display. It is supposed to be able to show smartphone notifications, but I couldn’t seem to get this to work as the app kept crashing when I tried to enable it. Overall, for a price of c. £329 (at time of review - although that price has been yo-yoing for a couple of weeks now), it could do with more polish if you ask me. If I were a watch traditionalist and looking to start tracking some health metrics, I’d probably get one of the low-profile fitbits to wear alongside my regular watch or on the other wrist. If it were slimmer and the app functionality worked properly, plus a lower price, then it would be a fair effort.

This watch first off looks absolutely outstanding. The watch comes in a really nice box, and is presented beautifully. I currently have a fruit brand smart watch that I use everyday, but this is definitely going to be my more formal going out watch. It's easy to set up, although the instructions could have been a lot clearer. The battery life is amazing, and the watch is really simple to use. It's comfortable, but it is bulkier than I'm used to (this is just me though, it's not actually that big). Very good hybrid watch, and exquisitely made and presented.

I have used an Apple watch for years but within 12-16 hours it needs recharging. This watch can be charged and last for days. That's enough for me to switch. However, to does so much more. Okay not as much as my watch but nothing that I miss. It looks the business. In fact the design is timeless and you won't want any variation on it - not that there is any. It is heavy, but I like that. Looks alone out competes on my other watch. Then again Pininfarina are an Italian car deisn company, so they know a thing about design. It took a while to work through the instructions, but well worth it. There is a small digital display in a circle at the top of the watch. This is controlled by the dial to the side of the watch. Easy to use, and unlike a digital watch, you don't lose the overall display, because that's not digital. This displays weather, time, health activity, ie number of steps a day, and various spots. etc. Also and a great feature I will use, a remote to control your camera. The app. for the watch is rather basic, but since my phone carries that information, that's no bother to me. I have now switched ti this hybrid watch.

Well I was really looking forward to receiving this . A hybrid smartwatch which looks amazing. Couldn't wait to get going when it arrived. But I never got going . You see the setup is entirely dependent on the app. This downloaded easily enough . From there you have to choose which of the two versions of the watch you have and then follow setup instructions . The first of these is to put in in it's changing cradle -no mean feat as matching the connectors is as fiddly as hell . Then turn it on. Then you are taken to a screen on your phone app which searches for your Bluetooth connection and it asks you to select the device in your phone's Bluetooth settings . My Samsung Galaxy Ultra found it easily and a little code popped up othe circular screen on the watch to pair with the phone . Wow! How cool ! All good ? No . Because although it is connected to your phone the screen in the app will not show that it is connected, it is permanently stuck on 'searching for watch '. This means you cannot go to the next screen -at all - you can only go back. Since all of the features are dependent on this process completing , what I am left with is an expensive bangle , costing in the region of £330. I tried to resolve this 4 times in my android phone and then in desperation, twice on my iPad . No, it is not an android issue . Apple produced the exact same outcome. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I tried it with WiFi off and on. I tried it with VPN off and on (not an expert but I don't think either of these would interfere with Bluetooth, but just in case). The result was always the same , stuck on 'Searching for Watch '. Anyway , it is pretty useless . You would think that for a watch costing that amount of money they would put more of it into designing and testing an app. This is hugely disappointing. Save your money and avoid this like hell.

My husband personally does not like a standard smartwatch design and prefers a standard watch such as Fossil, so he was quite happy to see some smart features on a standard watch. This looks very similar to a Withings Scanwatch (with a small dial that is used to display the menus). The watch looks very beautiful. It has some basic smart features such as heart rate, ECG, SpO2, sports tracking, sleep and notification displays. The battery life is around 8-12 days based upon your usage. If you have too many notifications turned on, the battery life reduces, which is as expected. The mobile app needs lot of improvement and is only very basic. He could pair his iPhone with the watch easily but struggled a bit to ensure all the functionalities work, including receiving notifications. Notifications are in a small font so very difficult to read. Also, the heart rate display is not permanent, you need to restart a measurement (which takes about ten seconds) to obtain it. In terms of quality of the watch, this is a very nice finish at this price, and the leather strap (genuine leather) a bit light and is a bit too cheap compared to the watch (which is rather heavy). Overall it is a beautiful watch that takes the risk of combining 2 different worlds. Feels little bit pricey but if manufacturer can fix all the app issues, it will be a great product. The watch and presentation of the watch is nothing but a premium unboxing experience. The watch comes beautifully packaged in a wooden presentation box and everything is tastefully presented when opening. The finish of the watch is sublime, premium materials used throughout. The stainless steel body has some heft to it and the glass is sapphire and resistant to scratches. For the build and design, it's stunning - no - spectacular. Sadly, when it comes to the smart features and app, this is where the watch falls down somewhat compared to other hybrid smartwatch makers. For reference, I'm testing on an iOS 18.0.1 iPhone 16 Pro. The good is that the app has a fairly straightforward initial onboarding setup, with the app taking you through the connection and account setup seamlessly. However, once the app is set up, it's clear that the app is lacking with features and functionality compared to the likes of other hybrid smartwatch offerings. Whilst the sleep tracking seems very accurate, my watch has not been tracking Blood Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) automatically during sleep. Furthermore, you cannot check ECG or Heart Rate Variabilioty (HRV) with the Sintesi watch, for those features, you should consider the Senso instead. The major gripe I have about the app is the navigation. For sleep tracking, you can view the most recent night's data pretty easily, however, for viewing detailed information on previous night's recorded data, this does not seem to be possible, at least for the iOS app. Only an overview is possible. Likewise, the visualisation charts provided are not in any sense of the word useful due to the vague axis labeling and hiding different information about your sleep in different menus. The UX is pretty bad and left me frustrated at times. For notifications, the watch does have a very refined gentle vibration and was able to display a scrolling preview on the small screen. No complaints here. It was also very easy to control what apps and features could send notifications down to the watch, so that you can filter just the apps that matter to you to buzz your watch. Battery life is still an unknown for me to comment on. Pininfarina claims 30 days on the product page, however, I believe that this will be very dependent on how you use the watch. I'm on day 3 and have 75% battery life remaining - that's been without heart rate monitoring and limited notifications. So, in conclusion, can I recommend this watch? If you're buying specifically for the health monitoring benefits, I would advise to look elsewhere whilst Pininfarina catches up with their software offering. However, if you're looking for a truly stunning timepiece from a legendary Italian car designer that's subtle in smarts but scores perfectly in style and build quality, then I absolutely could recommend this watch. Due to the presentation, it would make an outstanding gift too.

This 'hybrid' smartwatch has a good heft, and utilized quality materials (stainless steel case and sapphire crystal glass) that separates it from the flood of cheap smartwatches from China that stop working for all sorts of reasons in a short span of time. With its conventional dial, hour/minute hands, the crown and two (2) function buttons, it looks more like a traditional yet sporty wristwatch than a typical smartwatch; but all these same features are what attracted me to get one. The included strap (I got the black leather one) is also easy to replace with third-party ones as long as you'll get the right size (22 mm.). I also prefer the round, USB-C-powered charging cradle/base bundled with the unit, where the watch snaps securely into compared to the small magnetic leads at the end of the the USB cables commonly included with cheap smartwatches They disconnect easily from the watch. It's always frustrating to find your watch uncharged when you're about to wear it . The best feature, this being a 'hybrid' watch, is how the hours and minutes hands "gets out of the way" of the rounded display area -after you turn the crown- for the user to view the 'smart' functionalities unobstructed. And these are my dislikes about this 'hybrid' smartwatch: - The round area provided for the smart functions is too small. I would approximate it to be just 1/6 of the entire dial. Although the display is bright enough, you would have to put the watch close to you eyes to get a glimpse of all the smart functionalities like step count, H/R, SpO2, weather, etc. Pininfarina chose form (to match the same rounded area for the sub-dial/seconds window) than functionality of a bigger area for the smart features. But give them credit for making the sub-dial to also function as an "activity goal" indicator. - Since the round window is too small, it can't even provide info for text and call notifications that even dirt-cheap smartwatches could. - Some of the health features particularly SpO2 measurement can be spotty - you may have to do several attempts to get a result. - The 'Quick Start Guide' is not too informative. You have to figure everything out from the Pininfarina app after downloading it on your phone. The app (provided by Globics Technology) is robust enough, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Allot some time to learn all the features including how to connect it with your existing Apple Health or Strava accounts, change units or language, and more importantly the by tapping the model of the connected Sintesa watch on the app where it would give you a wealth of information like firmware updates, Find My Watch, smart crown vibration, hand calibration, short-cut key or sub-dial configuration, etc. Overall, despite of its shortcomings (particularly the small area for the smart features), I will give this Pininfarina Sintesi Hybrid Smartwatch a positive review. The quality materials utilized and rather adequate "smart features" integrated into the unit of this seemingly conventional-looking sports watch, make it quite a unique item in the "affordable" watch segment in the current but highly-competitive market.

It does not pairs well with my samsung phone. The clasp dug into wrist.

The market for these kind of devices is small, I only found four brands selling hybrid watches. And I'm terms of looks, to my this was by far the best looking watch, it looks beautiful and feels premium, I love the leather and the sapphire glass (unless the withings where the band feels cheap, or the Garmin that doesn't come with sapphire glass). The functionality seemed minimal, but still helpful from an smartwatch. That would be the perfect blend, but I've found several issues with it, the first watch I had to ask for a replacement, it turned on once and then died, I still have another chance, it kinda took a while to turn on, maybe the battery was completely drained but after not even a day, and not even wearing it, it was down almost 40%. I would be expecting it to last at least a week. If you don't mind charging it every three days.
