The Wake Up

I wasn't sure it was going to be my kind of novel until I got to the 4th chapter and the characters start to take shape. A sensitive topic covering several generations soon draws you in . Only thing I felt would improve the story would be to have a little more insight to some of the characters involved

Catherine Ryan Hyde has written another brilliantly insightful book ... her perception into rarely discussed characteristics of both humans and animals makes for another unputdownable story. I loved this book for its compassion x

There has not been one book that this author has written that I have not and and this one does not book the trend. Unable to put down as the characters are so well defined you call a little in love with them all.

Thoroughly enjoyed The Wake Up. The hold book held my attention as I had to find out what was going to happen with all concerned and what had happened to them in the past to cause them to be how they were.Catherine Ryan Hyde is a fantastic writer whose novel's really make you think.

This book deserved 5 star's, a really well written book, easy to read, and a great story. I would advise people with troubled young children to read it.

Catherine has a wonderful insight into how people function. Love her books. Looking forward to the next one can't wait

I loved this book from the start. Written with such empathy for people who are "other" because of what life threw at them, but also full of hope. Couldn't put it down and had two nights of reading until 2 am! Fair warning, read at your peril!

A rather unusual story that is well worth the read. It will give you more empathy for parents who have a 'difficult' child. The author has an insight into human nature that won't fail to have an effect on you.
