A fair price for a well-made problem solver but, No power cord included!
Works well to reduce or eliminate transformer hum on amplifiers. It is fairly priced and well built... but... make sure you have an extra IEC power cord as one doesn't come with the unit. There is a Trip Lite 14 AWG one for about 10 bucks that is pretty nice. This should help with an amplifier where it hums mechanically not through the speakers. This is for noisy transformer hum you hear when the amp is plugged in but not hooked to speakers. It is fairly narrow and I found it easy to find a spot for it behind my equipment rack and it is easily mounted with a few screws.

Works like a charm! Highly recommended!
I was pulling what remained of my hair out trying to figure our why my JL Audio Fathom F212 subwoofer's internal toroidal transformer was at times very quiet and at other times audibly humming very in a very distracting fashion. Installing dedicated 20 amp circuits, moving the sub to the other side of the breaker box brought not a lick of relief. After reading many articles I decided that D.C. offset on the A.C. line maybe be the culprit. The two options for experimenting were to obtain a toroidal isolation transformer or a device like the CMX-2. Not having much luck in the past with isolation transformers (they can hum as well!) I decided to give the CMX-2 a try. After hooking it up I can tell you I've reached audio nirvana once again. The F212 is as quiet as a church mouse even with my ear right against the cabinet! It's the best money I've spent in a long, long time and if D.C. offset is your problem, I can recommend the CMX-2 unequivocally! As a matter of fact, I'm going to buy another one just to have on hand!

Sad. Did not work for in my case.
The CMX-2 did not work for me. The transformer hum is still there. BUT, the build quality on this product is SUPERB. It has a very high-end feel and look.

An expensive two plug power strip. Very disappointed.
I've heard good things about Emotiva and I was having a problem with my subwoofer picking up noise off of the ground in my house. I've gone so far as to replace the amp in my subwoofer, but I did not have any luck. I then saw this AC line restoration and common mode filter power strip. I saw good reviews and figured I would give it a try. It made absolutely no difference. There are some lights on the power strip that indicate if you have proper wiring to the outlet you are using. This is useful to let you know if you have a bad (or no) ground, swapped line and neutral wires, etc. I figured this to be a nice feature in case there was a wiring problem in a house where plugged in. These lights worked at first, but then after a couple of months, one of the lights burned out. I contacted Emotiva customer support expecting that I might be able to send it in for repair or maybe get a replacement. After almost a week of waiting for a reply, I was basically told that if my subwoofer still works, then don't worry about it. Now another month later and all the lights are burned out. I don't know if they had a batch of bad LEDs, if the just used cheap LEDs or if there is something wrong with the circuit that drives the LEDs, but I wouldn't expect them to burn out in only a few months. Just to make sure, I tested the electrical outlet, and sure enough, it is fine, so the LEDs are burned out and not just telling my that my house is a mess. In all, this has turned out to be a beefy looking power strip with only two plugs and some burned out LEDs, and it was not at all cheap. For the price, I would have thought Emotiva would have at least wanted to try and make this thing tip top. I am quite disappointed with the Emotiva brand (product and customer service) and not sure I will procure anything else from them.

Good Product
Tried a few devices to quiet down some of my audio gear. My Burson Conductor Virtuoso (at high levels) had a slight buzz and hiss, but connected to this it is now dead quiet at full volume. Not that you listen to levels this high but that power line noise is there. Great product. Same problem as others, the LED's burned out within a year which negates any of the visual problems the power bar is supposed to display. LED's are a very simple concept and I have 40 year old LED devices that still work. Also told by Emotiva to just live with it with no remedy. You need to stand by your products if you want to play with the big boys which Emotiva has yet to achieve. Stuff like this does not help your case.

Great product
Works fine. I do not hear much difference on sound with or without it.

Perfect solution, and way cheaper than other brands
I had a couple problems with my HT setup, a ground difference and the hardest to fix: a DC offset causing some low volume, "static-like" noise on my KEF speakers. After researching a lot, found the common answer was to buy an expensive, top of the line AVR+Noise filter from brands like Furman, Panamax, etc. The big problem is they cost several hundred dollars. Then I found the CMX-2, made by a good amplifier brand, specifically to fix this kind of problems, and a LOT cheaper ;) Since I installed it, all noise problems are gone. Both the DC offset that affected my KEFs and the common ground issue that affected my Rythmik F15HP One note: There are 2 versions of this noise filtering/power strip: CMX-2 (this one) that has the DC-offset filter and 2 outlets And the CMX-6 that has 6 outlets but lacks the extra filtering this one has. Be sure to buy the CMX-2 if you have noise/static in your speakers, I did and is working wonderful :)

Great sound and value
So, I bought the Emotiva CMX-2 and it's being fed by a Shunyata Alpha HC power cord to power my front end - DAC and CD player (also hooked up with Shunyata PCs). Build quality: This this built like tank. At least as solid as the PS Audio Juice Bar and Ultimate Outlets that I have owned. It does, however look "pro-audio" but the WAF seems to be higher than that of the Ultimate Outlet (the Emotiva is more discrete). Sound quality: sounds like nothing at all as far as I can tell. Thoughts on value: This is *exactly* what I was looking for (2 outlets) and at the price, seems like a total steal (DC offset..!! and non limiting conditioning..!!).
