Great productivity tool

I like this timer, but I have a couple nit-picks.First the good: it does pretty much exactly what you'd expect. Turn on, flip to a number side and a timer starts. Easy. Its nice for me because it gives me something tangible and I don't have to tempt myself with distraction like starting a timer on my phone would. The company clearly knows that this is being used as a productivity tool, hence the price. Imagine my surprise when I had to read the directions to put it into "Pomodoro mode". It's not hard, just not intuitive. You'd think you can just turn it on and flip it to the 5 minute side (which has the little 25 to show that that's your Pomodoro mode side). But it doesn't do that automatically. Instead, you have to hold the power button for a moment after the countdown has started, which will start your first 25 minute block. I'd much rather have that be the default setting. There's a blank side with the logo that you can program with your own preferred settings which is nice. You can pause by flipping it up and continue by flipping it back down to the same side- just be sure not to accidentally turn it when you do or else your timer will reset. It will auto shutoff if you leave it paused too long though. It has a vibrate alert mode which I can kind of understand. You can't really throw it in your pocket with an active timer. I suppose the vibration is useful for the hearing impaired or if you have headphones on.

Everything I wanted. So happy

I needed a better way to manage my time than my smart watch that was helpful but also distracting. Buttons, scrolling, buzzing. I did a bit of ressearch this one looked like it had features to keep me focused. A little more expensive but i dont care about another 50% cost for my time.Anyhow, this is REALLY awesome. Time increments from 3m all the way to an hour. No buttons to deal with unless you want to puase or turn device on or off. Its actually alot smaller than perhaps the photos might impress. But that's a good thing, i hardly notice it on my desk, the LED doesn't distract me in corner of my eyes. My workflow has already improved ALOT without being burdened. Also am less forgetful. If i want to hav morning coffee and take a look at the problem i solved the night before, usually i'd get sucked into it and maybe some email for longer than intended. Now i just roll this to 30 minutes when i start my morning and that it. Then roll it again to 60 minutes for my priority project.I wish it had a 2 hour increment. But that's ok, still satisfied and that's being really nitpicky that maybe most others don't need. I'd buy this again 100% and been recommending it to almost everyone i work with. My only regret is not coming across this years ago.

Works great.

This is a little expensive, but works great. Built well.

Could be better. A lot.

The functionality when you turn it is unreliable, most times selected the wrong count down. The use of the buttons is unintuitive the entire thing feels like an engineers design that never seen customer feedback.I should have bought the original even if more expensive not this cheaper chinese knock off!

This tool works

This productivity timer is a great tool for time management. I love that it has adjustable volume levels, with five different options to fit different needs. It’s especially useful for staying focused, whether at work or at home. Distractions can make tasks take longer than they should, and this really helps keep you on track so you’re not bringing work home. I also think it’s a great tool for people with ADHD, as it helps create structure and maintain focus. Even if you don’t struggle with time management, it’s a great way to build a routine and stay productive. Definitely something I’d give as a gift, too!

Watch the product video for instructions on setting up Pomodoro!

The magnetic mount is my favorite feature. I love being able to set it out of the way. You can still rotate it and set the timer while it's stuck to a surface. It's clear that a lot of thought put into this designing this timer. However, there are some difficulties that could use further thought. My main dislike is the poor visibility of the labels and side numbers. See my pictures for examples.• It's difficult to find the "ON" button. Black buttons on a black background is a poor choice here.• The ON/V/M/S labels are difficult to see against black.• The side numbers need more contrast. Light gray on medium gray is difficult to read without bright light. The reflective paint can make them difficult to read in bright lighting too. See my picture. The audible alarm is pretty shrill. It has three volume levels, but the lowest volume would be too loud for a shared office environment. This could work as a nap timer; it's definitely hard to ignore. The vibrate alarm is much softer than a phone or pager. I can't tell the silent alarm is going off unless I'm holding the timer.Vision impaired — This could work as a timer for the blind if you include braille labels. The numbers on the outside are slightly recessed, but I don't know if that's enough to feel clearly. The device beeps when turned on, but there's no feedback when starting a countdown.Hearing impaired — There's no bright flash to grab your attention. When the alarm goes off, all the side numbers flash, but it's kinda dim and easy to miss in a bright environment. The vibrate alarm is too weak to feel through a desk (and you can't keep it on your person because the countdown will change when you move).Gotchas:• The timer value is set by orienting the timer (in relation to the ground / gravity). It needs to be set on a level surface. It won't register properly if the rear is raised by 1/4" or the front is raised by 1".Product Suggestions:• Use a white paint for the front labels. Use a bold typeface.• Make the side numbers easier to read when not lit up, or just light them ALL up when turning the device.• Make it easier to find the "TickTime" side. Paint it a different color. Or make a smooth indentation on this side.• The ON button is hard to locate in dim lighting. Change the color of this button.• Add a bright flashing LED to the front panel. For an example, see how the iPhone can be set to use its LED flash for alerts.• Beep or buzz when when a countdown is started.A remedy to some of these issues could be including stickers that the user can apply to the power button and the top of the device. See my picture where I've applied small stickers to the ON button, "TickTime" and "5" sides. Bonus points for including braille stickers for the vision impaired.
