I started looking for a simple device that could hold a lot of information and record for a long time. I found it. It's small, convenient, and compact, fitting easily in my hand. The mechanism is very simple, just turn it on and start recording. The recording quality is good. The audio playback is also good. The keys are comfortable to use. It's easy to operate.It's an indispensable tool for work and study! Built-in memory 8 Gb. And also there is a slot for a flash card.

Have not used all the features as yet.Fairly simple interface, starting and stopping (automatically saves) recording with a single switch. The built-in microphone works well for voice recording. Sharp and clear recording at arms length. Have not yet tried the included clip-on mic. The Settings set up is somewhat intuitive - the lengthy instructions are helpful once you locate the section in the (literally) fine print.As observed, playback from the unit is not hi-fi with its fingernail size speaker. I saved in mp3 format so it was easy to save to my laptop and play them from there, much better! The USB cable is a bit short, but it works perfectly for file transfers and charging.I have not used it outdoors as yet, I'll see how it deals with background noise. Adjusting the gain will probably help with that.Smaller than my cell phone, feels solidly built, unlike my phone. Small screen requires my eyeglasses, but so does everything. Buttons are well sized, solid - note that the built-in mic will pick up the click if you are recording.

I bought this because of reported solid construction , that it was listed as Amazon first choice , price , and usb C interface . Most if not all future devices will be using usb C after the international conference a few years ago . It works very well for what I am doing these days . I will be using it to record instructions mostly on how to use my computer for paying bills , taxes , retirement jobs which my wife did when I was working. It works fine for long playback . It comes with long instructions because it is capable of doing many things if you want to do many different things. Just recording and playing back is actually simple and easy . I am a retired physician and had to dictate medical notes all day for 30 + years. If you are doing lots of dictation then a larger recorder that fits the hand and has larger buttons would be better . When you dictate medical notes ( and if you are a perfectionist ) you are constantly rewinding , listening to short segments , rephrasing to make it easier read later. This device is smaller and better suited for recording things like conferences. You can rewind and listen to shorter segments when you long press the rewind . Short pressing rewind would jump from one music track to another if you are recording music . I don’t do any of the music stuff . Overall excellent recorder .

I'm still figuring things out, but you can bookmark parts of a recording. You can also mark two places (A and B) on a track and have it loop between them. There are a lot of options for recording, playback, etc. There are four folders for you to place recordings. You could, for instance, put voice members in folder A, lectures in folder B, etc.Recording and playback quality: 5/5 for what I paid for, this is excellent. If you want studio quality recording, you wouldn't get this device. For its intended use, the quality is excellent for recording and playback.Instructions: 4 out of 5. The English is very clear. I'm amazed. Many Chinese made products, even when well made, have horrible directions. They took writing or translating to English seriously. Besides the grammar and spelling, the depth and clarity of instructions are pretty good. The only language the instructions are in, however, is English. Be aware, however, that you can change the interface language on the device.In summary, I am VERY impressed for the quality to price ratio. The designers and this company are pleasantly competent. Not all Chinese products are poor, as this recorder shows. This serves as a shining example for design and quality.
