Peace of mind worth the price
I definitely recommend this product! I have a 10 month old, 65lb pit/boxer/shepherd/chow mix and I ordered him the medium. I use it with your average 12 inch bully sticks (not ones from this company) and it works just fine. Yes, the little grips inside do wear down, however if you make sure the adjustable spike sits in the natural groove of the pizzle and tighten it as hard as you possibly can (you could probably even use a tool if you don't have the strength) it will be solid (from my experience). I usually try to wiggle and pull it and make sure it is solid before I give it to my boy. If you put the holder in the middle of the pizzle stick, I feel like it holds better than the holder just being on the ends (more leverage force on the ends for potentially wiggling it free). Although this is just a theory, it seems to hold well either way... Usually what is leftover is about 2 inches of pizzle in which I throw away to avoid a choking hazard. Before this product I tried using the Qwizl as a holder, but he figured out how to pull the pizzle stick out. The reason why I wanted to find a pizzle stick holder is because one day he threw up half of his pizzle stick (6 inches of stick!) I don't know how he swallowed that much whole, but it left me worrying that he could choke while I am gone. This product leaves me with peace of mind! I love how it locks it into place. It is a little pricey since it is the only item on the market, but if I ever needed another one I would buy it again and recommend it to others. Also, the item itself is made from a very hard and solid plastic that is durable. My boy tried to chew it and it only left a few teeth marks.

The winner in a side by side comparison
I got this and the Bully Grip Holder to compare. My 1yr 9mo Borzoi has been enjoying bully sticks responsibly since he was 9 weeks old and 19 lbs (ah the good old days of buying 12 inch sticks!). He's now almost 100 lbs and requires 36 inch bully sticks. I used to take away end pieces that were about 3-4 inches in length but after watching him carefully chew and consume some end stubs I was less concerned and allowed him to do so under supervision. I decided to try these products to see if they worked at all. This product is very easy to use and plenty roomy to insert the widest bully stick, even one frayed/flattened by already been started being chewed. There is no odor, it seems decently made, though I feel like if it's frigidly cold out I don't want my dog clunking it down on pavement or it could crack. It screws in securely, but as it's entirely plastic, I expect eventually it will wear/strip a bit, but so far we are many months in and it works great. The Bully Grip holder was impossible to insert a bully stick in that had already been started/chewed, even if I tried to freshen the end with scissors. It was an exhausting ordeal to try and fit the sticks in, but the size description matched the size/diameter sticks I'm using. I am unsure if a larger size is available and if it would be snug or loose but I definitely am not about to buy multiple sizes of them to try and get one that fits. The Bully Buddy is bigger/clunkier but weighs less than the Bully Grip. It doesn't feel as solid/well made and is plastic-y and not mean to get accidentally gnawed on like the Bully Grip probably could be, but it's so much easier to fit in ANY size bully stick and seems to hold them really secure. I always put both options out for my dog together and he ALWAYS went for this one first. In fact, he had gone through about 9 bully sticks in the Bully Buddy before I took it away and he eventually used up the one in the Bully Grip. The ease of use makes this one the winner for me. Please note, both will give you a bruise and an egg on your forehead if you dog is laying next to you on the couch and swings the device end at you.

Pup likes it, i like it. not concerned about choking- great in my book!
got a new puppy a few weeks ago. Was concerned about him choking on the end of a chew stick after reading online and seeing him try to swallow a carrot whole. this will not work for all sizes of chews but so far i have had success with turkey and beef tendon dog chews and small yak cheese chews from pupford. tendons fit with little to no struggling, the small yak cheese required some shoving in (or you could let your dog chew it down slightly). Iโd think any yak cheese bigger would be too bug. I have a bully stick and bully braid i havenโt put in yet because too greasy for a puppy to eat but i think they would fit 100% fine. My dog seems to enjoy chewing the chews as much in the tool as without- or potentially more because he also likes chewing on the holder! It is holding up well to his puppy wear and tear after ~2 weeks. will update in the future. Itโs not sticky. I noticed no smell. It helps my dogs chewing ability. the thickness is not a lot but has fit all of my chews i have thus far. it doesnโt fit pigs ears but i take those away when they get too small and theyโre also pretty greasy

Drill a hole in the bully stick
Update 2: I have not had any bully sticks fall out yet since drilling the hole deeper and wider. For reference I use the 12 mm drill bit to make the initial hole then the size up to get the top of the hole wider and a size down to get it deeper. I donโt make the hole too big otherwise the bully stick might break or slip out. (If anyone else decides to use this method, the drill bit sizes used will depend on the size of the holder and your bully sticks). Its a little work, but pre-drilling a handful at a time will pay off later. Anyway, the dogs will chew on and bully stick & holder trying to get the last bits of bully stick out and they canโt. This definitely extends the entertainment value of a bully stick in a safe way and the holder is super durable. Update 1: After letting each of my dogs chew on the bully sticks all day I only had 1 bully stick fall out just once, instead of many times before I drilled the hole. Big improvement but still not perfect. I think when the knob is cranked down tight against the bully stick, the movement from chewing is unscrewing the knob. Periodically tightening the screw could prevent this but that kinda defeats the reason I got these in the first place. Today I tried drilling the hole a bit deeper and wider than I needed, so when the knob was all the way down, the screw was still in the bully stick but not touching it tightly, basically the bully stick could spin freely without wiggling the screw loose or falling out. I wiggled the bully stick all around, pulled on it to make sure it was staying. I let the dog have it and it didnโt come out at all. I think if I had the small or extra small holder with the thick bully sticks this would work even better but im not about to waste more money. Original post: I decided to purchase these bully stick holders because they looked well made and had a recessed knob that wouldnโt get chewed or spun around by accident. The price point is fairly high but if it gives me peace of mind that my dogs wonโt choke, its worth it. Sadly the first time I gave my dogs bully sticks with these they kept pulling them out, no mater how tight I screwed it in. The bully sick turns a bit loosening the knob making it easy for the dogs to dislodge it. After looking at some reviews to see if this was a common problem I came across one review that said they added a sheet metal screw to the other side and it fixed the problem. I was going to try that but if the screw ever came loose and fell out that could be real dangerous. I ended up ordering a bunch of counter sink drill bits and used the 12 millimeter bit (pictured) above. Its just about the same width as the plastic screw on the medium holder. I drilled the hole about 1/4 inch deep right in the middle of the bully stick. I put the stick in the holder and tightened the screw all the way down. (I also did that with a yak chew and holder.) So far the bully sticks (and yak chew) havenโt budged at all today. Iโll report back.

Mostly keeps the last bit safe
Used to give my pup long chewsticks w times on them so I knew about how long it took to get to the end, but as soon as she saw me heading to her, she'd wolf them down quickly so I couldn't get it. I started strategizing how I'd approach her pretending I wasn't going to bother her then lunge for the stick to remove it forcefully from her mouth. Yes I could also just tell her NO, but it's a treat for Heaven's sake! It shouldn't come w negativity! So thought I'd try this. At first she wasn't interested in the "new" device that was "in her way". But soon, like 1 day ha!, she gave it a go. Now it's a staple. So far it has mostly kept the last bit of my pup's chew sticks intact. Some sticks clamp easier and more securely than others. You can tell when u tighten it. For those that tend to wiggle and know they can eventually be pulled out, I drill a small hole at the end & screw down into that. Works fine. I've also cut away parts of the end of very large sticks to make them fit. Holds them fine. I have an extremely aggressive chewer. She will also start chewing the holder itself, and carries it around like a bone hoping to get that last piece out, which helps me have time to get it and remove the piece and toss it! So far I love it, no more monitoring her chewing as closely. I still do, just not as closely and it gives me time to get it at my convenience and toss the last piece out. Probably about 90% effective and that works great for me! So much better than b4! Had it about 2 weeks. Holding up good so far with just some bite marks on the outside. : )

I recommend these.
These stick holders are the best I've found on the market so far. I feel my dogs are safe from choking hazards when using these. I use pliers to tighten them so the sticks stay tight and don't work out of the holder. And believe me, they will if you don't cinch them down tight. Throw them in the dishwasher to clean them, and you're ready to go again.

Great concept but our dog manages to free the bully sticks consistently
Weโve tried a couple of different thickness bully sticks, but somehow our 30lb dog manages to extract them from this no matter how tightly we screw it in. The plastic is also super hard and weโve noticed her chewing on that when trying to get it out - very concerned about her teeth when she does that. Because she so consistently gets it out we havenโt tried it with our XL dogs. Great idea, but just not the right solution for us.

Useful
Works well. Purchased for my frenchie to use with collagen stick. He was able to get it off about 3x but it may have been because I didnโt screw it on tight enough. Iโll have to see this second time. Over all it seems heavy duty, easy to clean, easy to use. No plastic smell, and my dog seemed to have a better โgripโ of the stick because of this base

Does what it needs to do
I didn't want to spend $50+ on this but it seemed the best option to hold bully sticks. I was worried because the reviews are varied and there is no return possible but you gotta chance it for your pup. Happy to say it does the job. My dog has used for two months now. He is a 9 month larador and the medium size was great to fit all sizes of bully sticks and collagen chews and I don't think I'll ever have to size up. Lots of teeth marks on the outside but that doesn't matter. Every now and then an odd-shaped chew will be yanked out but the majority of them stay in just fine without any adjustment. Would recommend.

Great product but expensive
The product is great and gives us peace of mind but it's really expensive for what it is. Bought it as it was the only sensible option we could find. Very robust.

Somewhat overpriced even on sale
Does not account for oddly shaped bully stick to fit. Tighten too hard and plastic teeth wear down

Fantastic Safety Device for Bully Stick Chews!
I bought two sizes of these after seeing them on a popular Golden Retriever Youtube channel. Super easy to use and sturdy. Just slip the bullstick into the opening and screw it in tight and no more worrying about your dog accidentally swallowing the stick when it gets too small. I've found it also slows down over-eager chewing as well. In the photo, my 10 week old Golden (currently 16lbs) is using the medium sized Holder. Wish these had been around for my previous dogs, as they love these bully sticks so much and it was always a stress factor for me watching closely and worrying about them swallowing the final stick ends. Also - nice that there is no weird plastic smell to the holders either, as is sometimes found with other toys/brands. Super happy with this purchase! Highly recommended!
