By itself it gets the job done to extend flood lights or any light that fits the socket. In my case I used it to extend the socket so I could reach my Wyze camera that’s powered by the Wyze lamp socket accessory and it definitely got the job done. But I did have to cut the rubber a bit so I could get the lamp socket to touch the contact seeing the rubber was spacing it out. But after that it works like a dream.

With a Y adaptor in the socket, you can add this and still have a bulb at the original location. Great for closets where you need a little more light away from where the socket is located at. That's what I use mine for. Needed more light in the closet but not at the socket.

I wanted a lightbulb extender long enough to loop over my garage rafters. I used the six foot length. It was perfect and did not need any other fasteners. Works great. My garage is way lit upon entry. Can keep it on for extended in garage use. My neighbors are lining up to duplicate. The price was right. Local hardware stores did not even know what a light bulb extender was. The LED bulbs fit right in where I removed a small bulb.

I have 12ft ceilings in my garage, and both the building contractor and the previous owner though it fine to just stick lightbulbs directly into the sockets at that height. Being not so young and being at full stretch on top of a ladder to change out bulbs, I wanted to change this.Several other reviewers have pointed out that this adapter, out of the box, doesn't fully seat light bulbs because of an excess of material at the socket. And they would be entirely correct. However, some reviewers made this adapter cable work by trimming that excess material by hand, and knowing that and also the fact that this seems to be the only extender cable of it's type and it's length, I thought it was worth the gamble on 8 bucks.So it arrived and well, yes, the light bulb didn't fit, but 30 seconds with a sharp chef's knife to remove about a 1/4" section from the end and the bulb seated perfectly.If you can slice potatoes, you can get this thing to work in under a minute. I ordered 2 more for the remaining sockets in my garage.
