super easy installation
Installation of drive on my Dahon MU D8 folding bike was easy-peasy following the excellent instructions, even with difficulties with my left hand; i'll update once I'm fully connected & on the road. Be aware of chain line issues on a Dahon folding bike, with a tight 130 mm rear hub dropout spacing and short chain stays; a 44t dished chainring large enough to clear the motor reduction casting with 10mm+ offset is the smallest I can get away with, and a chain guide mounted to the 35mm arching frame member from the bottom bracket shell to the main frame member, ahead of the 40mm seatpost tube, still seems like a good idea. The VD18MT display is excellent; easy to adjust speed limit and pedal assist levels directly from the display. Plus, customer service from these folks is beyond excellent.

Pleased with purchase
Purchased the 750w motor with the EKDO1 display, and 20 Ah battery. I put this setup on a Specialized Sirrus 4.O bike. I am a 215 lbs rider, and over the course of 6 rides with a total 5146 ft of elevation gain, I got 118 miles on a single battery charge. The mileage and elevation gain was measured by the "Ride with GPS" app. on my phone. (The bike's display indicated 128 miles for the same 6 rides). I was trying to maximize the battery life so I stayed in PAS levels 1 and 2 exclusively. I comfortably averaged 14 MPH on these rides. PAS 1 and 2 easily handled all hills. The conversion kit comes with no instructions, but all the information you need to install is shown in the information on the Amazon webpage for this motor. Look this information over VERY carefully before you purchase. make sure you understand everything. Be careful to get the correct size chainring, and that your bike has clearance for this size chainring. Chainring size is determined by the number of cogs on your rear hub. Make sure you know your bottom bracket type and size before you order. I suggest you bring your bike into a bike shop and have them remove the bottom bracket. They have the necessary tools and It will only take them a few minutes. They can confirm what type and size the bottom bracket is. The total weight of the bike, motor and battery is 45LBS. All of the connecting wires are long, and after all connections are made you will probably have a lot of excess wire you will have to zip tie to the bike. There are a few small zip ties that come with the bike, but I suggest buying a package of larger zip ties as you will need a lot of them. Installation really isn't that difficult, although it may appear so at first. There are some installation videos out there. The battery mounts to the water bottle holders on your bike's frame. These holders are designed to hold a water bottle and not a 10 lbs battery. I did mount the battery to the water bottle holder, however I also purchased some 24" heavy duty zip ties to zip tie the battery to the frame. I don't know if this is necessary, but it was added peace of mind. The kit comes with a front light, but no bracket to install it on the bike. I already had had a better light I had intended to use, so this didn't bother me. The finished setup rides very smooth and quiet. I now have about 400 miles on it and I'm very happy!

Works well, feels natural to use. Poor instructions
I have the 48V 750W version. I'm a heavy guy, but even so it has a decent amount of go power. It feels natural to use while peddling. As a disclaimer, this review is after a single day of use. Installing the conversion kit was somewhat challenging for me. I'm reasonably handy, but had no previous experience doing this type of thing. If you already know how and have the tools to remove pedals, cranks, the bottom bracket, and possibly the chain from a bicycle I imagine this will be a pretty easy conversion for you. If not, here's some info that might be helpful. You'll need to figure out what kind of bottom bracket your bike has and get the tools needed to remove it. My conversion kit came with a crank puller and what I THINK is a 20 spline bottom bracket removal tool. Mine is apparently a cup and cone type, so in my case I had to buy a 3 notch hook spanner and a 36mm box end wrench. The supplied crank puller did work for me. I also removed the front gear shifter since it's no longer needed and was worried it might get in the way. I needed a bike chain removal kit to completely remove that. Though I'd recommend getting a bike chain repair kit in case you accidentally completely remove the pin I like did, as they'll come with master links. You'll probably also want to make sure you have a metric wrench set with a good variety of sizes, same with metric allen wrenches. I think you could get by with pretty much any single size Phillips head screwdriver, I'd recommend but a variety of those as well. I did a downtube style battery. My bike did not have the water bottle eyelets so I also needed to get an ebike battery anchor bracket mount. I imagine that's probably not a common problem. But they exist if you need it. As mentioned in many other reviews, the instructions provided contain very little information. I found a video of how to remove pedals, cranks, and my style of bottom bracket. And a video of how to install this conversion kit. Made a few minor mistakes here and there, but overall not too difficult once I had the tools I needed.

In my 50's and I love my bike again
You won't be disappointed. I got the 750w kit with a 48v 20 amp-hr battery for my GT Aggressor Pro mountain bike, because I'm a fairly large rider, at 250 lb and 6'3, and it seems like 750w is the maximum legal motor size for my area. Installation was smooth and pretty much everything I needed was in the boxes, which arrived on different days. The only things I bought separately were a few small washers that I used to help mount the motor. Those might've been unnecessary but I wanted to be sure there was no necessary stress on the mounting plate. I also got a basic bike toolkit with a chain breaker because taking your chain off will make the installation easier. You'll probably need to do some tweaking once you have everything on and have ridden your bike a bit. I needed to retighten the main crank (motor mounting) nut, along with both crank arm bolts, which were creaking while I rode. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the kit and it makes biking a joyful experience again! I did have an issue with one of my break sensors malfunctioning and killing the power mid-ride one day which took me a bit to diagnose, but I did get things working again by simply unplugging the sensor, and the company quickly sent me a replacement without any hassle. My only complaint would be that the shift sensor I installed either does very little or just isn't working, because shifting under higher motor power sometimes seems very hard, but I've managed to use the left brake cut off lever as a workaround, which came naturally since it's just like using the clutch to shift on a motorcycle. If I order another one I may not bother getting a shift sensor for this reason. My mileage is good but I do think it's exaggerated by the manufacturer (no surprise there). Yesterday I rode 28 miles on a full charge mostly at a 1-2 power level (out of 9) on country roads. I had 17% remaining when I was done, however the power does seem to noticeably drop off once you get below 25-30%, so power level 3 is definitely weaker at 17% than it is at 100%. But again, I am very satisfied and you will be very happy with your bike if you add one of these kits to it! Happy trails.

This kit is made for 68mm
This kit is made for 68mm BB, 73mm BB will work but you have to use longer screws and spacers. The drive shaft is too short not enough threads to put on the shaft locking nut. Just buy the kit that made for 73mm BB. Spending $500 for the kit and I expected it to work as intended.

Personal transportation powerhouse
Exceptional performance, efficiency on par with Bosch yet a much higher peak power when you need it. The expensive display option looks good and is weatherproof but doesn't give much extra control over riding parameters. The default Eco, Tour, and Sport modes are way too powerful for commuting but this is easily fixed through the app. Overall an excellent choice for a DIY ebike as long as you don't care about torque sensing.

Great conversion kit
Other than deliverly taking so long. The kit is great! Everything fitted perfectly on my mountain bike. Totally recommend choosing the integrated break levers instead of the magnet sensor attachment. Also, don't forget to add the aluminum battery bracket. It made a big difference in preventing the battery from wobbling.
