Banana Boat Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50, 5 Fl Oz

This is a good mineral sunscreen that is free from some of those toxic chemicals in other sunscreens. It works great and even after the pool, we didn't reapply and nobody got burned. It is a tannish color which is a little helpful for blending into skin, but it still looks a little whitish if you don't rub it in enough. it soaks in too. The tube is big enough to last a while. Overall recommend.

My family has used mineral sunscreen for years. We’ve tried a bunch of different brands, mostly higher-end sunscreens. I don’t care for them, as they tend to go on thick, feel heavy on the skin, don’t spread well and leave a very white cast. I call them “white mud.” I had been looking for something that would go on clearer, feel lighter and spread well. Lo and behold, Banana Boat now makes a mineral sunscreen. I put it through a real challenge yesterday, as my family and I were at Disneyland all day. Some of my family used the “white mud” sunscreen, and some used the Banana Boat. Both kept us very well protected from the sun yesterday; no one got any color or sunburn. However, I didn’t look like a ghost in our family photos! Bonus, Banana Boat is much cheaper than the fancy “white mud” brands. I highly recommend this mineral sunscreen.

Works great and moisturizes my skin, but does leave a little residue behind on things I touch.

I am shocked at how good this mineral sunscreen is. I am a mineral sunscreen junkie and have so many expensive ($50+ a bottle) high end versions. I have fair/light combo skin and hate greasy, pasty sunscreen. This mineral sunscreen rubs in quickly and isn’t greasy. It out performs MANY high end sunscreens. I love that it has 19% zinc (substantial compared to some others) and is waterproof 80 mins. One thing I found interesting (and awesome) is that iron oxide is listed (last) in the ingredients, which means it has a *very* slight tint. Iron oxide is shown to help block visible/blue light which can be important to people like me with discoloration. This sunscreen is pretty robust for a “basic” drugstore brand. The color is more of a (very pale yellow almost?) off white, not stark white, I think due to the iron oxide listed. I wouldn’t call it tinted, but at least it’s better than paper white sunscreen. In comparison to other thick, heavy, greasy stark white mineral sunscreens, this one is a breeze to rub in! I cannot find anywhere if this sunscreen is nano or non nano, so that’s something to take into consideration if you care, which I really do not. If nano sunscreen is a big concern of yours I would reach out to banana boat to confirm. I purchased this so I don’t have to use my expensive face mineral sunscreens on my body but shockingly this may end up being my new favorite mineral face sunscreen. It isn’t drying on me personally (combo skin leaning oily) and it also wore fine under makeup. The finish is a soft satin after dried down. I’m pretty blown away! It preformed perfect at the pool, even in humidity. I will most likely repurchase. I’m glad to not have to repurchase the more expensive MDSolar science mineral sunscreen I was previously using on my body. I purchased with my own money no paid review! 10 out of 10 for the value and performance from me!!!

Easy to rub in and spread compared to other mineral sunscreens. It goes on a bit white but will blend with lighter toned skin for the most part if you keep rubbing. Provides good sun protection when paired with other sun protection habits and applied regularly! Doesn’t stain fabrics

I only use mineral sunscreens because I use tretinoin and have mature, sensitive skin. Pros -Spreads easily. Is like the viscosity of chemical sunscreens. Most are thick as toothpaste -19% high zinc content as sole sun blocking agent -scent is light and dissipates when dry -finish is sophisticated, very light and nearly undetectable. Great under foundation -cast is very slight. Almost none. I had to double check with my UV camera to make sure I had enough on Cons -burns like the devil on application. Post shower and with a light snail mucin essence was so intense I washed it off. I had to wait about 10 mins to dry skin a little before trying again. And the patience was worth it. For the price you can’t beat this finish - it’s almost like a serum mineral spf formula or Korean gel (but mineral, not chemical) like Biore the famous OG one. If your skin isn’t sensitive this might be a ball park winner for you!

Fantastic ! Applies effortlessly, light creamy texture, not thick. It leaves no white residue, it works perfectly for every member of our family, as we all have different skin tone.

I will be trying again, but my first impression is not good. I used this along with my child and we both burnt just as bad as another adult not wearing any sunscreen. We used the sunscreen correctly, I honestly felt like I was using more than I needed. It goes on nice but does leave my skin ashy looking, not white. However, looks like I will have to replace this with a other mineral sunscreen that actually protects against the sun rays.
