Journal Book Medieval Stone Embossed Handmade

Wow.... just wow! I am more than amazed with this journal. I had read mixed reviews on so many similar ones so I was a little scared at what the quality of this would be. But wow! The leather is thick but so soft. The paper is thick and very well made. The leather detail stitching is delicate but just amazing. The stones are amazing. The latches feel like they could break if MISHANDLED but still very good. You can refil this journal with replacement paper BUT you would have to watch some YouTube videos on how to stitch them into a book first to learn how. No... it isnt “perfect” it is hand made and you can tell. If you want something perfect go to Walmart n just buy a notebook. If you want handcrafted vintage style with an awe inspiring look and feel then buy this journal! Worthy of passing down a generation or 2 and will make a wonderful BoS ! So excited to finally call it mine! 😁

thick, good, handsome, and my wife grabbed it before i could tell her it was mine, so, yeah, that happened. she told me to get another for me. so i will. i did test the paper with two fountain pens because it felt porous. weirdly it did great, no bleeding, or spreading, noodlers blue heron and deatramentis dark blue, almost some ghosting, but all the lights were on, under normal lighting, it was not showing through. thick paper. interesting.

This is my new favorite journal! I couldn’t be happier with the quality and beauty of this leather journal with the latches to secure it closed and gemstones in the cover. The journal arrived within the week I ordered it. The craftsmanship is high quality, I appreciate the little details of the pattern. The gemstones are strongly secured. I love the large size and dark brown color of the leather. I was concerned the stain of the leather would wear off on the pages but my journal doesn’t have any noticeable staining on the pages from the leather. I would definitely buy more journals in the future from this company.

I ordered this for my teenage daughter for Christmas. It's exactly as pictured & the manufacturer or seller wrapped it in plastic & put spacers between the journal and the plastic wrap to protect the gemstones to keep them from breaking. The inside pages are a thicker off-white parchment style paper (unlined of course since I've never seen lined parchment paper). Some people may not like the texture of the paper compared to more processed smooth writing paper, but it goes perfectly with this journal's design. You probably couldn't use a fine-point pen or a pencil, but a medium-point ink pen, gel pen, rollerball pen, medium-point marker, fountain pen or even a quill with liquid ink would all work well if you really want to get authentic. There are a lot of pages to write on, so the number of pages feels like a good balance with the hefty appearance of the leather cover. The cool latches work easily and definitely add to the whole look of the journal. Can't wait for her to open it on Christmas morning because this is something that wasn't on her list , but I know she will love!

The book is perfect! The craftsmanship and the materials used are beautiful, including the lapis stones. BUT, I gave it 4 stars because whoever made it wrote THREE LARGE digit numbers followed by a hyphen with a BLUE INK PEN on the inside of the flap. I tried scraping off the numbers. DIDN’T work I used 90% rubbing alcohol. DIDN’T work I used fingernail polish. DIDN’T work THEN I used Goof Off. see photo There’s still an ever-so light hint of blue remaining. I hoped the brown circle stain would disappear but it didn’t. All the products I used evaporate quickly. Still, I prefer this stain to those friggin blue ink numbers. They really cheapened the look. IF the people who make these were smart, they would buy blank stickers and write the numbers on a sticker instead of ruining the journal. NOTE. I ordered and just received two more of the same journal for my daughter’s... expecting them to have blue ink inside somewhere that I would need to remove.., BOTH journals from my second order are PERFECT IN EVERY WAY.... no blue ink. BRAVO!

Very cool design. Will be a unique gift

This was so beautifully crafted. The stitching and detail were impeccable. Good, thick paper. It's beautiful - truly. Not perfect, but obviously handcrafted. A friend said it looked like 'a prop straight out of Harry Potter'. While that wasn't the goal, it definitely has a very mystical, magical look to it. Couldn't be happier w/ the purchase. It made a very special friend very happy.

My husband and I bought this for our 16 year old's birthday as his first Book of Shadows, which he had asked for. He LOVES it! The book is hand-tooled leather and will soften up over time. The signatures are sewn in in small sets and on really good quality paper. The stones are set in nicely on the front - not sure if real lapis lazuli or faux, but it doesn't matter because they're lovely. He is so happy with it and so are we. This was the gift we were thanked for over and over after he was done opening all of his gifts! Money well spent!

Its a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, its clearly bespoke hand made. I found the leather used to be just a touch lighter than in the advertised picture, but in all honesty, the beauty of the work far outweighs any possible nitpicking criticism I could come up with. Proud to own it.

Be warned there is usually a number or a marking on the pack of the journal in pen, other than that it's perfect for someone like me 😁

The leather and the paper are really nice quality and textures. I gave three stars as although its just an aesthetic factor, it isn’t as picture with 3 blue stones. On the front there is a blue, black and a very bright red stone on the front, which I find was a bit disappointing. The two buckles can be a bit annoying when you are writing on a table as they don’t sit flat and hard to write comfortably over them.
