Do you have to watch oils in shampoo, etc with this one?

Oils in shampoo, I don't think so. Only oils consumed orally.

Are you required to exercise?

Actually, if you exercise on a 500 calorie a day diet, your body will be more fatigued and will more than likely go into starvation mode. I have done this diet through two cycles sticking to it religiously and lost 63 lbs in a matter of less than 90 days. It worked for me.
