High quality compact and versatile very bright LED lamps
Ordered on Friday at 3PM, received them on Monday, from Georgia to California. That is super fast by any meassure. Brand new excellent condition products, high quality, compact size, smooth aluminum casing. Versatile base can be stick on by magnet, tape or freestanding. on-off button on the side is easy to operate, just press and it works. Easy to adjust any angles or directions. $22 for two with shipping included on Amazon, what a value!!! batteries included. Handsome clear round plastic tube packaging, push the orange test button on top of package to light it up, Wow, 4 nice bright cool white LED light.I have this new 3'x7' tall blue marble splash from range to 10' ceiling, with a matching 10' long island, but we found out the 2 vertical strips (12" wide) of marble are darkened when sandwiched between cabinets on both sides and hood vent in the middle, all the beautiful marble texture is lost. The solutions are to put some spot light(s) on the marble(dig open the ceiling again), LED light strips all around it (tacky disco-like), spot lights from the side cabninets (dig holes on the cabinets). I found this LED flute after hours of looking through varies cheap looking battery lamps, this LED flute is just the right simple design for our modern all white European kitchen, almost too good to be true. Some review said there is not enough light, not true in my experience. The LED light brightens up the marble from the base(top of the hood) to ceiling 4' higher and both sides (stainless steel vent and white cabinet.) the entire rectangular section is filled with light, super bright white light, which is same as the LED lights of the hood. Maybe this is because it is a confined space of 12" wide x 50" high. I put one on each side of the modern rectangular hood, the length is exactly right, perfect match, 8.5". These LED flutes changed the look of that entire section instantly.I am very happy with these lights, one of those great low price high quality internet finds! But regret these are just temporary solutions, they still have the add-on novelty look, not the built-in seemless look in high quality decor, despite the compact size, they can be seen, and the battery life will be a constant concern; instead of flipping a switch, I need to reach up and turn them on (too tall for my wife to reach). Not perfect in our case, search for a perfect solution continues.

Cool light, needs improvement
1st, I agree with other reviewers, everything is true, except some parts:I'd really like to give this light 5 stars, but it really is not perfect. The light itself and the base seem to be designed by two independent teams. While the light looks (almost...see below) like an Apple product, the base is ok, with flaws. First, the light comes way to easily off the base. The base "hugs" the light, but not enough. Any little accidental bump, the light will fall. 2nd, the base has two parts that rotate and snap onto each other. The clamps are way too small, as very little rotation will separate the two. The double sticky pad is weak. Use 3M's Command strips if you want to stick it to something. Then, the almost perfect light...while bright, the angle of the leds is too narrow. Yes, they've used lenses to concentrate the light and make it stronger, however, I'd give up some of the brightness to get more coverage. It looks like a perfect solution for a small cabinet, however it is not, just because of the small angle. It cannot 'flood' the cabinet in light. If you bounce it, it's really weak. If it's direct, it's too narrow (you'll see 4 - bright - narrow beams of light projected onto whatever). Then comes the on/off button. It is too little, too deep, too hard to press. You have to either be careful or hold the light while you push the button, because the light snaps off of the base to easily. While the rubbery cover gives it a cool touch, it was not necessary, or it should have been raised more. The light looks awesome anywhere. Projecting it on a wall, the 4 beams gives the room a modern look and feel, however, having one led a little out of line compared to the other 3, it looks rather cheap than cool. I'm sure not all lights are like that, and with a tighter quality control, lights can be in line. However, the other flaws I mentioned, are design flaws rather than manufacturing flaws. The problem is, unless you spend a great deal of money, you can't really find a decent battery operated led light strip. I have not.Meanwhile, I've found yet another use for it: laptop keyboard light. Use black velcro and stick it above the screen onto the frame of the display, and you have gorgeous light on your keyboard ;)p.s. to Sylvania/Osram: stop packing the light in that ridiculously nice (and I bet expensive) clear round box. I know 'the wrapping sells the product', but put some of the money into the development of the light rather than into a throw away thing. Looking forward to version 2.0 of this light.

Great light, but not for every purpose
I agree with other reviewers here, this light produces a very directional beam. In such a small package, you are sacrificing coverage for intensity. I would not buy this light for under cabinet accent lighting, where diffuse light is preferred. I would buy it to "spot light" an item, or for an inexpensive in cabinet lighting solution. I purchased the light to use in a steel security cabinet and it works great for that purpose. It is portable when I need it to be, to shine light in nooks and crannies to find things. It is stationary when I need it to be, aimed in the direction to provide light where I need it most. For the price, the light is well built, as is very asthetically pleasing. I plan to order more in the future.

Terrible light, bad mount
The mount fell off my cabinet (yes I cleaned them first) after 1 month of use. The light is not bright enough. I've purchased a few mountable lights for closets, under/in cabinets, and this one is by far the worst. I would not recommend this at all. If I hadn't purchased other similarly-priced lights, I might not have been so harsh on this review; but regardless, this is subpar. There is an Energizer light that I highly recommend. It's a little over $13 on Amazon. It gives off better light than anything else I've found. I used my own 3M mounting sticker for it, as it does not come with a self-adhesive strip.
