I BLEACHED MY HAIR BEFORE DYING! I’m thrilled with the results! First off, the vibrant red shade is absolutely stunning. It has a rich, intense color that made my hair pop without looking unnatural or harsh. The 4 fl oz bottle had plenty of product to cover my thick hair that reaches my lower back and still so much left in the bottle, and the application was easy to manage. Pros: Vegan and cruelty-free: As someone who cares about ethical beauty products, it’s a relief to find a dye that aligns with my values. Knowing it’s cruelty-free makes me feel great about my purchase. No harsh chemicals: My hair tends to get dry with other dyes, but this formula left my hair feeling soft and nourished. It’s a gentle option that didn’t cause any scalp irritation, and there's no strong chemical smells. Long-lasting color: Even after a few washes, the color remained vibrant and didn’t fade quickly, but I wash with cold water. It’s semi-permanent, so I didn’t expect it to last forever, but the longevity exceeded my expectations. Crimson is my new favorite red hair color. I've been dying my hair for over 20 years. For a long time, I did my own hair and used Punky Color and Manic Panic dyes. Then, for years, I had my hair professionally colored using mostly Special Effects dyes. I love the staying power of SE, but not the bleeding! Adore dyes have pretty good staying power, but only really bleed the first few times getting the hair wet. Now, I am growing it out and instead of spending $$$ on a pro, just keeping up my ends in color. The formula is pretty liquidy like Special Effects and unlike the gels of Punky Color and Manic Panic. This makes a little harder to apply, but not too bad since I am only really working on my ends. Even though my hair is nearly black, if I apply this dye to my roots I get a purply/burgundy sheen on the black parts. I spent a long time choosing a red color and looking at swatches online. Crimson was my first pick and I was very satisfied with the final result. Recently I also picked up Ruby Red and Raging Red to compare/contrast and also to dye some extensions with highlights and lowlights. Crimson is a deep red with pink undertones, but almost neutral when compared to other reds in the range. All three reds I have tested from Adore have cool undertones, but Raging Red is very very cool - I am hoping that the darkness hides a lot of the coolness. None have the very warm and orange undertones of PC/MP colors like Vermillion Red, Pillarbox Red and Wildfire. (I tend to prefer these warmer shades.) I've been doing my hair so long I forget that many people don't know how to get the most out of semi-permanent color (which actually is MORE permanent than permanent dye for me). Here are some tips: 1. Wash before you dye, with a harsh "clarifying" shampoo, or dish soap w/o hand softeners if your hair will tolerate and rinse with warm/hot water. WHY? - this opens up the cuticle where color can be deposited as well as strips out other color and junk. 2. Do not condition before you dye. WHY? - this will close/smooth the cuticle and you don't want to do that until after you color. 3. Apply dye, wrap in plastic to contain moisture and apply heat and leave on for WAY longer than directions say. WHY? - this helps penetrate more color deeper. You want to keep it wet and activated, bc once it's dry, that's pretty much it. (This only applied to semi-permanent non-developer dyes.) 4. Rinse in COLD or lukewarm water. WHY? - to smooth down the cuticle again and keep that color in! If you have ever had a Brazilian Keratin treatment, they do the same think when rinsing it out. 5. Condition only after dying. WHY? - to close/smooth down the cuticle and keep the color in. Personally, I don't protect my hairline with Vasaline because it makes more of a mess for me. I just swab off the color with rubbing alcohol. If you bathtub is stained, bleach and AJAX are your friend. I'll update this review when I dye the extensions. I am also going to mix Ruby and Raging and see if the color tuns out sorta like Crimson.

Got this for my daughter because she had red hair before but it was slowly turning a brassy color. We used both bottles in her hair and it has lasted a long time. Her hair became a very beautiful burgundy color.

Super cute I mixed it with a hair mask and it’s supper beautiful and shiny in the sun. But it’s not too crazy and I like it. it does take a minute to wash out tho but it isn’t that messy so it’s ok

Works instantly. My hair is bleached blonde, as soon as I applied the color it took over. About two weeks later, after one wash most of the color was gone. I wish I had taken a picture of the color in after first use. In the picture I reapplied the color to my sides and back but not the top. The sides show how the color looked after applied. But the top is after one wash. I think I need to use a heat cap when I apply.

Really liked this product. I use to have bright red my freshman and sophomore year of high school and absolutely loved it! Prior to using this I used L'Oreal HI lift excellence in red or something like that. I really liked it because I didn't have to bleach my hair in order to obtain the shade of red I desired. However, after I found out that L'Oreal tested on animals I stopped using it. not to mention my hair was also pretty damaged as well. So I gave my hair a break and dyed it back to a color close to my natural. Which leads us to now. I was getting pretty bored having regular hair again so I decided to go back to bright red. I did ton of research on dyes I could use that I would have to bleach my hair first because that was not an option (I've heard to many scary stories using bleach). after a ton of research I decided to use this because it had the best reviews and wasn't tested on animals. I didn't just dump it on my hair and call it good though. I pre-lightened my hair using a blonde dye as opposed to using actual bleach. I have a auburn brown kind of hair. The results turned out a blonde peanut butter kind of color. I was afraid it wouldn't take to it but did I anyway. Boy was I wrong! My hair was so bright afterward I was stunned. I forgot how bright red hair could be. I've had this stuff in my hair for about a month now and its still holding up pretty good. I wash my hair using cold water and sulfate free shampoo so that has helped tremendously as well. I love the fact that its pink based and not orange because when it fades it still looks reddish and not orange. The one drawback that bugs me about this is hat it STAINS!!! I'm not talking about bleeding(it does that too) but actually staining. I washed everything out in my shower and wit turned my tub and shower walls pink. I cant even take a bath because the steam make the walls wet and when I lean my head back it stains the walls in little lines. thankfully bleach gets it off but with a lot of scrubbing. How do I keep up on my hygiene you ask? Well when I take showers u wear a shower cap. do what I need to in the shower then once I'm done I wash my hair in our stainless steel kitchen sink, or outback using the garden hose. Its a hassle but hey the things we do for great hair right?

This color is gorgeous! Yes it stains but protect your skin and hands. I don’t know long it will last but is worth not having all those chemicals.

Ich bin Mega zufrieden, die Farbe ist intensiv und strahlt im Tageslicht. Ich werde ständig darauf angesprochen welche Farbe ich benutze! Zunächst war ich ja skeptisch da die Farbe eine wässrige Geltextur hat und zunächst nicht nach intensiven Pigmenten aussieht, aber das Ergebnis hat mich umgehauen. Schaut einfach das vorher/nachher Bild an!

J’avais une chevelure bicolore, noir et violine, j’ai fais une deco maison (je sais pas bien dirons les pros) juste pour éclaircir un peu, je suis resorti roux écureuil lol (normal me direz vous et je vous l’accorde lol) j’ai séché mes cheveux et mis cette couleur et je suis ressorti comme ça 😍😍😍 comme je le voulais ! J’en ai trouvé et eu des rouges mais là celui ci j’en suis dingue !!!! Rouge avec une touche de rose il est magnifique ! Sublime! Genial !!!!!! Bref 😅 moi je vais en recommander et je le conseille carrément !!!! Édit après 2 mois ca dégorge encore 😅

I was surprised how runny this was, i was expecting it to be thicker. My hair was in great condition, I needed to refresh the colour before next elumen application, and this made my hair feel awful, strawlike and the worst its ever been. Wont be buying this again.
