For the price, it’s a solid choice for DIY enthusiasts, especially those looking to tackle engine cylinder honing without breaking the bank.The biggest advantage of this set is its versatility. It comes with hones that can accommodate cylinder sizes from 3/4" up to 7", making it suitable for both small wheel cylinders and larger engine cylinders. It actual has four honing stone sizes (1-1/8" (2 & 3 legged), 2", 3", and 4") which gives you flexibility, and the handy case keeps everything organized and easy to store. This is a great tool for DIY projects or for occasional use where you don’t need professional-grade equipment.That said, there are a few drawbacks. This kit isn’t of professional quality, and you can definitely feel that in the build. The hone plates have a fair bit of play, and some are held in place with fairly weak pins, which could affect precision during use. Additionally, the set doesn't come with any instructions, which could be frustrating for beginners or those unfamiliar with honing tools.Overall, if you’re looking for an affordable, versatile kit for occasional DIY engine work, this set is a good choice. However, if you need professional-grade precision or durability, you might want to look elsewhere.

After using, the hones do work as they should, and leave a decent finish. BUT BE CAREFUL. The threaded end piece is very thin, like sheet metal. As such it doesn’t have a lot of surface area to grip the threads and the springs provide a decent amount of pressure. When I removed the zip tie that comes on it, the front end of the hone popped off shooting across the room and almost hit my dog.

Real nice to have for small engine rebuild or dusting a cylinder to see if its damaged. stones seems glued well havent come loose with any of the solvents iv used in conjunction with them. tension stays constant and the sizes cover quite a range

I have had to rebuild a few small engines and also had other projects where I needed to hone the ID of a pipe/tube to be circular (remove the inner weld bead). This was perfect for my needs!

I have a couple of these from standard parts stores (nothing fancy like snap on professional ones). Most of them are semi-disposable, with rivets holding them all together, even though they sell replacement stones if you want to get into that. They have done the job fine though.This set is about the cost of one of those, and is of very similar quality - better in some ways. And the wide range of sizes is great. I have lawn mower sized ones already and this includes those and car sized ones and brake cylinder size ones. And all for the price of a single one or even just a set of replacement stones.Very pleased with this set.
