Excellent for youth! Great gift idea!
Bought this set for my son for part of his Valentineโs Day Gift, and it was a huge hit! My son is 11 and in 6th grade, and often talks about wanting to be an engineer. This was perfect for his skill level and ideologies! Great gift idea, and value for the money! Both units, the Bluetooth Speaker and the Radio are small in size but just right for child use! Have I mentioned that the sound of both is great!! My son loves them and is very proud for having built them. The directions are easy to understand and colorful!

Awesome. Agree project for little kids.
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter. I gave it to her as a christmas present. Her mind was blown. she couldn't believe that it was going to work and it was something that she could put together. The instructions are kind of basic, but at the same time not really. It's important that the child look at the photos and the text of the instructions. A lot of information is delivered in the photo that isn't necessarily put in text. Which is similar to lego instructions. She connected all the wires, and I soldered the connections for reliability and sound quality. The only critique of the product is that the sound the bluetooth speaker makes when it is turned on and again when paired is very loud. The volume is completely controllable once the device is paired. The radio is pretty cool too, it works great. It's an added bonus if the child lives in a big city. There are literally hundreds of radio stations for the child to listen to.

Awesome!
These were very cool! My 13 year old got them for Easter and put them together himself- clear instructions. Great size, and seem pretty durable. The sound quality was much better than expected. Would buy again!

good project to do together with young teenager
I assembled this with my 13 year old great niece. The speaker works well with her phone using bluetooth connection. The radio was a little finicky to assemble. Once we figured out the "buttons" were no knobs we were able to tune the radio. I behaves similar to the old style hand helf battery powered radios. You must move it around and sometimes hold onto the antenna to receive anything. But it was a good project to do together. She still likes the end product and plays it.

Easy enough & work!!
Great b-day gift for 11yr old. This was his first set of this sort & still easy enough to do without adult help. By paints for added creativity. They are easily destroyed by younger siblings.

Read before buying
The documentation and instructions for the RADIO kit are excellent! The only recommendation I have to make for that project, being a five-star project, is to use slip-on contacts for the speaker wire connections. Twisting the wires is not reliable. I am a highly experienced Electronic Engineer, so I soldered those connections. My eight-year-old granddaughter had no problem following the other steps, and the radio works fine. The "SPEAKER" kit's instructions are not nearly as good, and the steps are not as well illustrated as those in the other kit. More wire connections require twisting. Here also, slip-on connectors would be far more reliable. Lastly, the front of the speakers is vulnerable to damage. They should be covered like in the other kit. Add a dollar to the price for the necessary parts and eliminate the need for soldering! The name should be changed to "Bluetooth Audio Amplifier," and the text should be edited to eliminate spelling errors. After assembling the kit, it flawlessly connected to our Apple phone and tablet and had good sound.

My kid loved this
My son thought this was super cool! He built it himself. Funny, he was really interested in the radio, heโs grown up with YouTube and streaming services. The idea of a radio was interesting to him.
